Born in Tokyo as the eldest son of Matsumoto Koshiro IX (Ichikawa Somegoro VI at the time), his sisters are Matsumoto Kio and the actress/singer Matsu Takako. His uncle is Nakamura Kichiemon II. He made his Kabuki debut in March 1979, by performing "Sukeroku" under the title Matsumoto Kintaro III, at Kabuki-za, Tokyo's premier Kabuki theater. Terumasa was given the title Ichikawa Somegoro VII at the naming ceremony in October 1981, which was held to mark his father's ascension to the title of Matsumoto Koshiro.
Terumasa married his childhood friend Seki Sonoko in November 2003. The couple has a son and a daughter. His son, Fujima Itsuki followed the family tradition at the age of 4, by succeeding his previous title Matsumoto Kintaro in June 2007.
Terumasa was bestowed with the title of Matsumoto Koshiro from his father in January 2018. Edit Biography
