Today marks the beginning of my weekend, and instead of having 2 days off, I have 3 and a half days!! As you enjoy your weekend, It's a good idea to slip these wonderful movies (Well, in my opinion, they are ^^) into your weekend schedule.

I'm getting started with...

Duelist (2005)

Genre: Romance, Action, Mystery.
Description:

In the late Chosun dynasty, counterfeits were circulating around. Detective Ahn of Left Security Station and a passionate newcomer, Nam-sun try to trace the source of the counterfeiting. They chase the Secretary of National Security and his man 'Sad Eye' as suspects. A predestined battle between the best woman detective in Chosun, Nam-sun, and a mysterious assassin 'Sad Eye' is unfolded. A magnificent, chivalric film that showcases Lee's style.

What's so great about Duelist?
If you call yourself a fan of Kang Dong Won or Ha Ji Won, or both, you totally and definitely need to watch this. And mind you, it's not about featuring two A-list actors as leads, it's about the movie itself. The cinematography, editing, choreography, sound, visual, audio, the acting of both the leads and other cast are simply fantastic! This is a plus for those who are lovers of sword clashing, swinging and everything that comes with it, you will definitely not regret watching this.

Next is...

Howling (2012)

Genre: Action, Drama.

Description:

A man is found burnt to death inside of a car. Detective Sang-Gil (Song Kang-Ho) and his co-workers investigate the scene. He doesn't want to take the case because it looks like a simple suicide case and won't help him get the promotion that he desperately wants. Furthermore, rookie female detective Eun-Young (Lee Na-Young) is selected as his partner for the case. As Detective Sang-Gil and Eun-Young investigate further they discover a trail of drugs, child prostitution, and a lethal wolf-dog all involved in the case. Detective Sang-Gil and Eun-Young keep their discoveries to themselves as Detective Sang-Gil hopes to crack the case and get his promotion. Soon, another murder victim is discovered with dog bites on his body. Can Detective Sang-Gil and Eun-Young unravel the mysterious case before more people are killed?

What's so great about Howling?
The synopsis gives off a normal-crack-drug dealers-and-child traffickers-case vibe, but it's not. There's a lot more to the story and then there's the Wolf-dog theme (NOT werewolves)... If you do decide to watch this terrific movie, having some tissues beside you may not be a bad idea. If you do end up shedding some tears, though, just use it as an opportunity to relieve some of the stress that you acquired during this week.

And finally...

Little Black Dress

Genre: Friendship

Description:

Little Black Dress depicts the friendships, jealousies, hopes and failures of four 24-year-old girls.

What's so great about Little Black Dress?
I know LBD doesn't have the greatest ratings on MDL, but it's still worth the watch! I'm not just saying this because I'm a huge fan of Yoon Eun Hye (though of course, I am), but on the basis that I watched LBD and I could actually RELATE to it. Almost everyone uses the I-can/could-relate-to-something expression and this has become some sort of catchy sentence, but nevertheless... LBD is a movie that depicts not only what can happen in the lives of 24-year-olds, but what can happen and has happened to various people of all ages who have friends or BFFs. Honestly, LBD has some areas that could have been better, but it's still a good movie for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Have a wonderful weekend and definitely watch these wonderful movies if you get a chance!

Editors note: If you could promote three movies next week, which movies would they be?
