They say we all have a doppelganger somewhere. Perhaps that's the case, or perhaps producers/stylists just want to make celebrities look like other celebrities simply to appeal more to the potential fans. Whichever it is, some Asian celebrities do look a lot alike. Have you ever watched something and think you have already seen that person? Or have you ever been surprised to learn that two people are actually not the same person and are not even related at all? I know I have. Therefore, I gathered quite a few celebrities that, in my mind, look very much alike. Some of those you could easily confuse with one another, while other simply look similar. I actually went to the look alike thread and did some research, but overall it's still my personal opinion rather than a massively approved survey or such, so please be considerate.
Technical note: the celebrities are named from left to right in every picture.
I must admit that Lee Joon resembles Hongki only on rare occasions, but Mir and Hong Ki surely resemble each other (to me) and I often used to confuse Lee Joon with Mir.
They look alike only sometimes, but the very first performance of SNSD that I saw was from Star Dance Battle (they were dancing to Britney Spears's Circus), and looking at these two there I thought they actually might be twin sisters.
Now they don't look that alike to me. But in the very beginning of my life in Dramaland, when I had seen only Hana Kimi, I saw this picture of Mizushima (aka Nanba-senpai) and it was written he's called Matsumoto Jun. So eventually that (and blonde Oguri Shun) was why I watched Gokusen :D
I remember seeing quite many people in Soompi forums asking which one of these two is which, because they look so much alike. Now I tell them apart easily, but for a beginner fan - I'm not surprised.
Perhaps it's only for me, but I had heard about this cute young guy called Okada Masaki and then I watched Juui Dolittle and I thought perhaps that it's the same Masaki. It wasn't, but sometimes I still get confused.
Once again, perhaps it's only me, but damn, I have trouble telling them apart. Serious trouble.
If you're not convinced by pictures (which easily might be the case), when you see them on shows or in videos, in other words, moving, you will see what I'm talking about. Junyoung even sounds like Yoochun.
Yes, I'm not mistaken and neither are you - the one on the right is a different person. I guess TOP isn't the only one with powerful eyebrows anymore :D
I had a funny accident. I have seen Aoki Munetaka in a few episodes of Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo [dropped it after a few], and when I started watching Yokai Ningen Bem, I thought, "Oh, it's Aoki Munetaka, from that language drama. I'm glad he looks so hot and handsome here, there he was made as a lame man." Only in the middle of [or after] the 4th episode I somehow googled and found out it's actually another actor, whom I have seen in Ataru [watched only two episodes of it] :D
I know Krystal is actually Jessica's sister, but for some reason when I look at her, I see Yuri.
Besides the fact that Brian and Jo Kwon are divas, they do look alike as well, at least to me.
I know they might not seem that similar, and I'm sure no one would confuse them with each other. But whenever I see one of them in drama, my mind goes "oh, it's one of those long haired ladies; I should check which one exactly she is."
I remember reading on MDL that someone still cannot tell Changmin and Taguchi apart. Now that I've started having an interest in KAT-TUN, and watching Cartoon KAT-TUN, I can clearly see why.
