Currently Watching: When a Man's In Love
"When a Man Loves a Woman" ~~~~ I guess some of us have heard this evergreen song by Percy Sledge and covered by Micheal Bolton in the early 90s. Well, I am not writing about the song here, but this drama's name is almost similar to the name of this song.
Currently, I am following melodrama When a Man Loves and the leads are Song Seung Hun (Autumn Tale/Dr Jin) and Shin Se Kyung (Fashion King). Song Seung Hun plays a role of a former gangster Han Tae Sang who falls in love with Seo Mi Do, a girl who is 15 years younger than him. Han Tae Sang’s ex-boss girlfriend Baek Seong Ju (Chae Jung Ahn) loves him for all these years and has been taking care of him. Meanwhile, Seo Mi Do starts to like a young and smart guy named Lee Jae Hee (Yun Wo Jin).
The Characters:
Song Seung Heun portrays Han Tae Sang’s character really well by using his facial expressions as well as his eyes. He can be cold, smart, dangerous, loyal, heartwarming and shockingly cute, as well as innocent in love!
You will truly fall for him when you watch this side of him. Not to mention that you will see quite a few of the scenes where Han Tae Sang is shirtless (spoiler alert!). Hahahaha.. Get your tissues ready while watching this to wipe off your drool and nose bleed. X-D
As for Shin Sae Kyung, she fits quite well for Seo Mi Do character; however, I am among the few who is looking forward to see her to develop Seo Mi Do's character better. Well, it’s too early to judge her acting as I notice that they are a few netizens who are hoping she will not turn this drama into another Fashion King.
My Personal Opinion:
This melodrama is a must-watch series as it seriously affects your emotions while watching it. It can make your tummy full of butterflies; it can make you feel like punching someone in their face; and it can also cause you to get teary-eyed. The moment I watched the first 2 episodes of this drama, I was totally hooked. I even watched it LIVE Wednesday & Thursday nights even though it was still RAW. Luckily they are a lot of kind souls that gave us the live recaps during the air time. After that I re-watched them again with English subs.
Since Han Tae Sang and Seo Mi Do's first meeting started with an ill-fated incident, will their past haunt their future relationship? Will Seo Mi Do fall in love with Han Tae Sang who sincerely loves her and is willing to sacrifice even his own life for her?
