Hey MDL, It's Otakusk with my first article!

Almost every movie today must have a fighting scene between the good guy and the bad guy. It’s what really grasps your attention, and in some cases, it's the climax of the movie or drama. Here I show you some of the most kick-ass fighting scenes  in Asian Cinema.

Disclaimer: This is only based on what I have seen so far and my personal opinions.

Might contain possible spoilers for the following: Faith, Rurouni Kenshin, City Hunter, 7 Level Civil Servant and Shut up Flower Boy Band

Drama: Faith

The Hero: General Choi Young

Played by Lee Min Ho

Weapons: Sword, Arrow, Armour, and a police shield

Skills: Nae-Gong, army general, strength, tactical thinking and

some kick-ass fighting!

Apart from the numerous weapons that our hero uses, what makes him very different and special from other fighters is that he uses his spiritual powers to defeat his opponents. General Choi Young uses Nae-Gong; he has the ability to gather external and internal energy and shoot it out of his hand like electricity. The force expelled is so strong that it can paralyze the opponent and sometimes kill them.

Here we see Choi Young begin almost every battle by giving the 'death look' to his opponents. He then carefully looks at his surroundings, evaluating all the dangers around him to think of a plan. He does this in a matter of seconds before anyone has the time to even blink! Then he startles everyone with that mischievous smile and BAM!

Choi Young is on his feet and aims for everyone's weapons so that they won't be able to use it against him. But he also tries to turn the opponent's own weapon against them. In fact, he uses anything around him: tables, chairs, vases you name it, to block and kill his enemy.

After a fist to fist fight, he obviously gets a little bit tired and brings out his own sword. A piece of weapon like that is very heavy with all its metal and gold detail, so our hero must have had some previous training before hand before having that much strength within him! Again, if he's tired, he just throws his weapon into his left hand to let his right hand rest.

The Heroine: Doctor Yoo Eun Soo

Played by Kim Hee Sun

Weapons: Bag and a sword

Skills: Medical experience, medicine maker, bravery strength,

horse riding and swearing

We all know how the Doctor has a tendency to get kidnapped quite a lot, endangering herself and others. But I felt that it was my duty to show you how she can still defend herself when she's really in trouble.

Remember the very beginning of the first episode? Yes, you remember. The Doctor was scared out of her wits from General Choi Young. She threatened to kill him. And she did. She plunged a dagger into him. She didn't mean it of course! But it proves the will power she has and how brave she was to even try to kill someone.

You also remember that blue bag that she carries everywhere she goes? Well that's a weapon, I warn you! She can throw that bag around like a sword too.

She can also dodge attacks by the way!  Hurray!
In Episode 18, Deok-heung pins her against a wall. But she pulls out the swift moves, she learned from Choi Young, and whirls around with a dagger to his throat.
She holds the knife there and says, “But . . . I only learned up to there . . .” LOL.
So she pulls back and just tells him not to come any closer, “Because I don’t like you.” Don't mess with women!

 Movie: Rurouni Kenshin

The Hero: Kenshin Himura

Played by Sato Takeru

Weapons: A legendary sword

Skills: Strength, kung-fu, speed and some kick-ass fighting

Kenshin is one those guys who is different from General Choi Young. Fighting is  his natural instinct. Okay he did learn some skills. Quite a lot. But hey, he fights like he was born with it! All he needs is his legendary sword and will power. And like he says: "Swordsmanship is learning to kill". Those very words send shivers down my spine!

People fear him because he can handle hundreds of opponents at the same time. He can jump very high and pounce on his prey. Then wield his sword and slash it at everyone whilst moving very fast to his main target. He can kill, duck and dodge at the same time just like he has eyes behind his back!

Drama: City Hunter

The Hero: Lee Yoon Sung

Played by Lee Min Ho

Weapon: Gun

Skills: Tactical thinking, military training, killer, karate/judo, strength,

speed, and some kick-ass fighting

Lee Yoon Sung's ultimate goal is to avenge his father's death. That's why he sets boundaries for himself. If he falls in love, his mission will fail. Or will it?

Lee Yoon Sung grew up in a military training camp. Obviously he can handle multiple opponents at the same time. But he can also handle two weapons at the same time in each hand too! His fighting skills require strength and speed.

He is also similar to General Choi Young (obviously played by the same person) because he can turn his opponent's own weapons against them. He also uses some opponents as shields from the main enemy.

The way he fights is almost like a ballerina! Turning and whirling around.

The Heroine: Kim Na Na

Played by Park Min Young

Weapons: Gun

Skills: Bodyguard, karate/judo, strength and defense

Kim Nana may look small and cute. But in reality she's a vicious fighter! Due to her experience in karate/judo training, she knows exactly when someone is about to attack her. All she wants is to be a bodyguard and protect the president. She will shoot anyone who gets in her way and who is seen as her enemy. Even when the one she loves is right in front of her eyes, she will just see them as the opponent.

Drama: 7 Level Civil Servant

The Hero: Han Gil Ro

Played by Joo Won

Weapons: Gun

Skills: Tactical thinking, spy/agent training, and

some kick-ass fighting

Our hero leads a double life just like the heroine of the show. He has trained considerably hard in the spy agent unit. But guess what? He already knew everything there is to know since he's already a spy!

He knows how to use a gun like the back of his hand. Okay, maybe not all the time. But his fighting skills are so good that he will be willing to die as long as his enemy dies too!

The Heroine: Kim Seo Won

Played by Choi Kang Hee

Weapons: Gun and a newspaper

Skills: Spy/agent training, highest ranking student and lying

Kim Seo Won is similar to Han Gil Ro. All she wants is to be an agent. She will do anything to reach her goal, even if it means leading a double life. She's probably the best liar out there. But don't ever tick her off. If you do, she's like an old grandma. She brings out the newspaper, rolls it up then whacks you on the head with it!

Drama: Shut up Flower Boy band

The Heroes: The Eye Candy Band

Played by Lee Hyun Jae,Kim Myung Soo, Sung Joon

Yoo Min Kyu and Kim Min Suk

Weapons: None

Skills: Musical talent and bad boy fighting

I couldn't finish my article without mentioning the real bad boys of the show. This is some real RAW fighting skills we have here. If you get in their way, they will crush you like nothing!
