Heirs completes cast

There’s a big buzz going around the upcoming SBS drama "Heirs" because of its cast. Lately, the whole crew has been confirmed and we will be looking forward to a drama about the high class in Korea; it’s said to be a mixture between Boys Before Flowers and Gossip Girl.
The cast:
Lee Min Ho           Park Shin Hye      Choi Jin Hyuk      Kim Woo Bin        Kim Ji Won

The storyrevolves around Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) the heir of Empire Group; he has everything and obviously arrogant but his older half-brother Kim Won (Choi Jin Hyuk) excels upon him and gets to run Empire Group. Then, Kim Tan falls in love with Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), the daughter of Empire Group’s house keeper; she lived most of her life with Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin) who’s the heir of a fancy resort with an IQ over 150 but he uses it to pull pranks instead of studying. You can guess that there will be a love triangle going on between those three.
The rest of the upper class group are Rachel Yoo (Kim Ji Won), a classy yet arrogant heiress of a big hotel chain. There’s also Yoon Chan Young (Kang Min Hyuk) the son of Empire Group’s personal Secretary and who’s also Cha Eun Sang’s best friend; he falls in love with Lee Bo Na (Krystal) who’s the daughter of an entertainment figure, Kim Tan is her first love and ex-boyfriend but since he doesn’t feel the same way as she does, she finds condolence in Yoon Chan Young’s arms.
There’s also Jo Myung Soo (Park Hyung Sik), his father is the Chief executive of cars Export Company but he doesn’t care about money that’s why he does everything in his might to get away from his father so that he doesn’t take over the business. Jeon Hyun Joo (Im Joo Eun) will be a teacher in Empire high school, she only cares about study and she will be Kim Won’s love interest in this drama. And finally, Lee Hyo Shin (Kang Ha Neul) is the son of an important Police figure and the class president; he has a crush on his teacher Jeon Hyun Joo which implies the possibility of a love triangle between him, Kim Won and Jeon Hyun Joo.
Theshooting location changed from Australia to California and the drama is set to air on October.
I know that the cast is very catching but am I the only one who’s not excited about this? I always tend to dislike overrated dramas so much plus It feels like Boys Before Flowers all over again especially the part of the Group heir and the poor background girl. All in all, the plot is not appealing enough to make me count days to watch it. My advice is; lower your expectations because the higher the expectations, the bigger the disappointment.

Age of Feelings confirms

more leading roles

After the confirmation of Kim Hyun Joong (Boys Before Flowers, Playful Kiss) as the male lead of the 1930’s upcoming drama Age of Feelings (aka Generation of Youth);the producers added two leading female leads. The first is Im Soo Hyang (IRIS 2, I Do I Do) who will be Kim Hyun Joong’s love interest but because of his father, she loses her parents that she spent more than ten years looking for them so their romance will be complicated which leads to a love-hate relationship. There’s also Kim So Eun (Horse Doctor, A Thousand Kisses) who after losing her first love, she joins the independence movement with a cover of a singer on the outside but a courageous badass freedom fighter on the inside.
Yoon Hyun Min who surprised us in Cruel City is also rumoured to join the leading cast crew. I would love to see him here at any cost.

The 24 episodes drama is set in Shanghai and its air date is planned for November.

Whenever I read about this, I can’t help but to compare it to “The Bridal Mask”; the 1930’ssetting, the freedom fighters, the hero and many other things. I am worried about Kim Hyun Joong’s performance in this because he’s an idol star and his acting skills are less than average and with a serious drama like this, his shortcomings will come to light even more than in his older dramas (Playful Kiss, Boys Before Flowers) but let’s hope that he improves and this will be his change to break through as an actor.

Hwatu adds more cast

After the confirmation of Ha Ji Won (Secret Garden, King2Hearts) as the female lead in the upcoming Historical drama Hwatu; it’s been also announced that Joo Jin Mo (A Frozen Flower, 200 Pounds Beauty) will be the male lead of this drama.
The drama centers on Ha Ji Won who’s a Goryeo born-princess but then she’s married off to the king Chung Hye and becomes the empress Ki of the Yuan dynasty. She struggles to keep her roots and accommodate to her new life while the king tries his best to protect Goryeo from the Yuan interference. As time goes by, they fall in love but political conflicts don’t allow them to live happily ever after.
The confirmation of the cast also included Jin Yi Han (Time Slip Dr. Jin, What's Up) a top scholar who betrays the uncle who raised him after falling for empress Ki’s tricks and so he becomes the prime minister. You may be wondering; where’s the evil character? How come there’s a sageuk without a villain? Patience my friends because the announced evil character for this drama has also played an evil role in the recently finished popular drama “I Hear Your Voice”. He’s Jung Woong In, despite the fact that he’s a Goryeo man his ambition to go higher possesses him and he starts betraying his country and creating schemes to oppress king Chung Hye and Empress Ki.

It’s notable to mention that Jang Geun Suk refused to take part in this drama. However, I don’t know which role he refused but it’s certainly not the king’s role.

The 50episode drama is produced by the makers of Giant and Salaryman. It will follow Godess of Fire Jung Yi every Monday and Tuesday on MBC and will premiere in October.

Doesn’t this remind you of another drama? Yes, it’s Faith since it has the same back ground story of Goryeo’s king and the princess as well as the ambitious evil dude (Ki Cheol you awesome evil character) but this time, there will be no fantasy and the king and the empress are the main characters. I always like Korean Historical dramas that are based on Goryeo and Yuan instead of Joeson, their settings and cinematography are always top-notch and their political fights are more interesting. The length of this drama scares me off the most but I think it’s worth the trouble.

Another ghost drama by OCN
http://imageshack.us/a/img545/8223/se3m.jpg

It’s confirmed that after last years’ time travel trend; this year is without doubt the ghosts’ trend.
This time around, it’s another OCN crime mystery drama titled "Ghost Detective" where the story revolves around Oh Ji Ho (The Queen of The Office, Couple or Trouble) who solves cases with the help of the undead. He lost his family and his girlfriend due to a terrible accident and he transferred from an elite detective in the violent crimes unit to a normal district cop. He’s able to see and touch ghosts. He’s then haunted by a schoolgirl ghost and he’s forced to come back to life in order to solve mysteries.
Alongside Oh Ji Ho, there’s Oh Ji Eun (The King of Dramas, I Live in Cheongdam Dong) who will accompany him as a partner in the ghost thrilling mysteries solving. She’s described to have a sharp observation that allows her to detect the criminals’ weak points. There’s also a talk about romance between those two but you know OCN’s way of romance, little peeks here and there to tease the audience and make them want more which is perfectly fine with me so everyone don’t get you hopes high for the romance part.

The drama is set to air on October the 6th.

It’s OCN! Although I would’ve been more excited if it didn’t follow the trend but I think it’s alright to compare plus it’s an OCN drama. That channel knows how to choose great scripts and it definitely has the best crime/investigation Korean dramas (God’s Quiz, Vampire Prosecutor, Special Affairs Team TEN) so I am totally watching this.
