Kind Words/One Warm Word

Han Hye Jin (Syndrome, Thorn Birds) and Kim Jee Soo (Love Again, Women of the Sun) are cast in SBS drama, Kind Words which will start airing on December 2nd after The Suspicious Housekeeper.  The director is Choi Hyung Hun who also directed Five Fingers.  The writer is Ha Myung Hee whose only other drama is Can We Get Married?Ji Jin Hee (The Great Seer, Take Care of Us, Captain), Lee Sang Woo (Goddess of Marriage, Feast of the Gods), and Park Seo Joon (I Summon You, Gold, Shut Up Family) are also cast in this drama.

Song Mi Kyung (Kim Jee Soo) is a housewife. She has an innocent look, but a calculating personality.  She is married to a successful businessman and is the envy of her neighborhood. Then she discovers that her husband is having an affair and stays quiet while she watches.  Na Eun Jin (Han Hye Jin) is a woman whose lively personality is mistaken for immaturity.  She is married to Kim Sung Soo (Lee Sang Woo) who she also finds cheating.  Song Min Soo (Park Seo Joon) is a policeman who was raised by his sister, Mi Kyung. Yoo Jae Hak (Ji Jin Hee) is a good looking man who owns a medium company and looks to have a perfect life.  He has an affair due to his mid-life crisis.

It is said to be a Korean version of Desperate Housewives.  Boo!!!  Ji Jin Hee, Lee Sang Woo, and Park Seo Joon in the same drama.  I watched The Great Seer, Goddess of Marriage, and I Summon You, Gold which were not the best dramas.  Can I put myself through 24 episodes just to watch them???

The Prime Minister and I

Lee Bum Soo (Iris 2, History of  the Salaryman), YoonA (Love Rain, Cinderella Man), Yoon Shi Yoon (Flower Boy Next Door, King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo), Chae Jung An (When A Man’s In Love, Queen of Reversals), and Lee Min Ho (Knife and Flower, Rooftop Prince) are cast in KBS drama The Prime Minister and I set to air on December 9th after Marry Him if You Dare/Mirae’s Choice.   The Director is Lee So Yeon who also directed Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek and Baby-faced Beauty.  The writers are team Kim Eun Hee and Yoon Eun Kyung who have written a lot of good dramas such as Love Again, My Fair Lady,The Snow Queen, Sweet 18, Summer Scent, and Winter Sonata.

Prime Minister Kwon Yool (Lee Bum Soo) has confidence with work but none in childcare.  He is a 40-year-old, single father of three who has no control over his household.  Nam Da Jung (YoonA) is a 28-year-old private tutor for the children that was once a reporter.  *there was a description of her as a young mother.  Nothing about if she has children of her own, but it seems possible* Love develops between the Prime Minister and Da Jung.  Kang In Ho (Yoon Shi Yoon) is the prime minister’s chief of staff and a member of the top 1% elite civil servants in the country.  He is smart and good looking.  Seo Hye Joo (Chae Jung An) is the prime minister’s public relations officer. Park Hee Cheol (Lee Min Ho) is a reporter who is always chasing the next feature.  Seems like there maybe a connection between Da Jung and Hee Cheol. Love triangle?

Some people say this is like Sound of Music, but for me it is more like the 1956 film The King and I starring Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner.  It was an excellent movie.  It is about a widowed school teacher who goes to Bangkok with her son to tutor the children of King Mongkut.  They also seem to fall in love.   Seems similar to me.  I’m excited to watch this.  Meaningless Trivia:  Yul Brynner played the part with a broken back.

Kim Soo Hyun (The Moon that Embraces the Sun,Dream High) and Jun Ji Hyun team up again for new SBS drama, Man from the Stars set to air on December 11th after Heirs.   They were in the box office hit The Thieves together.   This will be Jeon Ji Hyun’s first TV appearance since 1999 when she did Happy Together. The director is Jang Tae Yoo who also directed Tree with Deep Roots.  The writer is Park Ju Eun who also wrote You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly. So Yi Hyun is no longer cast and Yoo In Na (The Best Lee Soon Shin, Queen In Hyun’s Man) has taken her place.  Park Hae Jin (My Daughter Seoyong, Another Brilliant Life) is also cast in this drama. Yunho is being courted to be cast.

Do Min Joon  (Kim Soo Hyun) is an alien who lands in Joseon and just lives there for 400 years until the present day.  In present day he meets Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun) who is a top actress and falls in love.  Yoo In Na (not sure of her character name) plays a Harvard graduate announcer who was always first place in school.  She is also Song Yi’s rival because Song Yi stole her first love.  Lee Jae Kyung (Park Hae Jin) is a mysterious character as a second-generation chaebol who leads the family company.  He lives different lives between day and night. He is also the hyung to Song Yi’s fiancé (yet to be cast-Yunho if he is cast).

You can read more about it from MAROUZINA’s article.

I’m not into romantic comedies, but this sounds cute.  Two people from different worlds falling in love.  I may check this out.

Lee Sun Gyun (Golden Time, Pasta), Lee Yeon Hee (Ghost, East of Eden), Lee Sung Min (GoldenTime, King2Hearts), and Lee Ki Woo (Standby, Flower Boy Ramyun Shop) are cast for MBC drama, Miss Korea starting December 18th after Medical Top Team.  The director is Kwon Seok Jang who also directed My Princess.  The writer is Seo Sook Hyang who also wrote Romance Town.  Kwon Seok Jang, Seo Sook Hyang, Lee Sun Kyun, and Lee Sung Min worked together on 2010 drama series, Pasta.

Kim Hyun Joon (Lee Sun Gyun) and other ajusshis (Lee Sung Min) in a neighborhood band together to turn a young lady from their hometown into the next Miss Korea.  Oh Ji Young (Lee Yeon Hee) is the hometown girl that gets a makeover.  Lee Yoon (Lee Ki Woo) investigates fraud and is a woman hunter.  He has a MBA and is a famous investment analyst from the US.  He will be the antagonist to Kim Hyun Joon.

I’m not into comedy.  So, I will probably skip this one.  However,it does have an interesting premise.  For those of you that like comedies, this seems promising.
Do any of these dramas look interesting to you?
