After several push and pull games, the leading lady has finally been confirmed for Cantabile Romance

I was so ready to give up on the Korean remake of Nodame Cantabile when I heard that Yoona was courted for the drama. Thankfully she refused so the production team went back to their first choice, Shim Eun Kyung. She initially turned down the role because she had to focus on her upcoming film project. Fast forward to now, her film project was postponed, and so she had no reason to refuse them once again.

The result is: Shim Eun Kyung will be Nodame! It’s such great news and it makes me expect very good things from this drama.

Eun Kyung will play the role of a quirky pianist who can play any piece after hearing it. However, she has trouble reading music sheets. She’s clueless and and sloppy - her house is a pigsty. She then meets Cha Yoo Jin (Played by Joo Won), a genius pianist who aims to become a conductor. He teaches her music, cleans her house, cooks meals for her and even washes her hair sometimes. Should I say what will happen next? Of course, she falls in love with such a prince charming.

So far, only two other supporting characters have been confirmed; Baek Yoon Shik - who will play the role of a world-renowned yet perverted conductor and Min Do Hee - who will be a part of the orchestra.

Although it’s a given that Cantabile Romance won't be exactly like the manga/anime/ and the Jdrama version, I am sure that Shim Eun Kyung and Joo Won will do a good job with their characters. I am more lenient towards this drama now and I expect something good from it.

Nodame Cantabile will air this upcoming October on KBS.

So what do you think? Is Joo Won/Shim Eun Kyung pairing good enough to make you watch this?
