It’s official, Lee Dong Wook will play the main protagonist for KBS’s upcoming drama « Iron Man ». The role was previously offered to Ji Sung, but he turned it down. Lee Dong Wook, on the other hand, showed serious interest in it. This is also his chance to maintain the remarkable popularity he gained after Hotel King.

The drama is about Joo Hong Bin, a powerful cold-blooded person, who’s very restrained on the outside, but he holds an unbearable pain on the inside. He has a special ability that allows the anger and pain within his heart to shootout from his body in the form of sharp blades. This obviously leaves his body full of scars. On the other hand, Shin Se Kyung has been confirmed as the other lead. She will be playing the role of a meddlesome female, who will help our main lead in his quest to fight the pain within and find his true inner self. They will eventually fall in love as he learns to deal with his stupid-- sorry, “super” powers.

These are my personal opinions, don't read if you can't take critical notes.

It’s not only ridiculous that this drama's title takes after the famous American comic and films (Seriously, they couldn’t come up with a unique name?), but it also contains the most absurd superpowers I've ever heard of. Sharp blades shooting out of his body when he's upset? Shouldn't they have just called this "X-men" instead? Either way, this doesn't sound too encouraging to me. Even with Lee Dong Wook's amazing body and beautiful face, I'm not sure that will be enough to justify watching this.

Someone from the production team stated that Lee Dong Wook’s charisma (more like body) and acting style would fit the character perfectly. At the end of his statement, he said, “Please anticipate the drama and show interest in it.” I'm sorry but with that type of plot, main actress, and wolverine superpowers -  I doubt most people will be intrigued by this.

Iron Man is scheduled to air after Joseon Gunman on KBS3. It will be starting on September 10th.

So what do you think? Is Iron Man on your dramalist? Are you looking forward to it?
