This weekend’s films are full of action, thriller and existential questions. Three films to take your breath away.

My Girlfriend is an Agent

Country: South Korea     Year: 2009     Genre: Action, Comedy, Romance

‘’Is what’s urgent important or what’s important urgent?’’

Between their secret jobs as NIS agents and their dating life lie many secrets. Neither Lee Jae Joon (Kang Ji Hwan) nor Ahn Su Ji (Kim Ha Neul) can fully dedicate themselves to a relationship based on lies and deception. Will love win over mistrust? A hilarious journey of two people who cannot choose between love and their careers and are stuck in-between.

If you liked 7th Grade Civil Servant, you’d love this and vice versa. The film has no exaggerations, dragging or dramatising so it might suit more people.

And, there's  Ryu Seung Ryong with one heart-throbbing performance. He outperformed all.

No Doubt

Country: South Korea     Year: 2010     Genre: Drama, Thriller

I hope that the laughter you enjoyed while watching My Girlfriend is an Agent would be sufficient enough to keep you going as you watch the two coming films.

A child is missing and a sexual offender is in town. Can a desperate grieving father be composed to reason in his search for his daughter? A blind pursuit of Lee Jung Jin by Kim Tae Woo.

Let’s breathe in...

The debate on recidivism has been going on forever, especially when it’s related to sexual offenders. The percentages recorded in child molestation repeat offenders are scary. At the same time, if we’re to label a criminal forever and wherever they go, do we expect them to be able to start anew? Is it true that once a criminal, always a criminal? Or do we assist in turning them that way? Still, can we blame ordinary people if they turn their backs on those offenders? How many people would risk their children’s lives to try to believe in the possibility of a fresh beginning? In a world that never forgives, do ex-criminals have a chance to repent? And who would believe them?

No Doubt is a film where you can take nobody’s side, sympathise but blame all and loathe humanity. A film that leaves you hanging on the edge of a cliff fighting the urge to jump down and get rid of all that filth.

No Tears for the Dead

Country: South Korea     Year: 2014     Genre: Action, Drama, Thriller

When an abandoned and traumatised child turns into a merciless organised criminal, and that criminal faces a haunting experience and decides to give up, what will happen?

The film brutally uncovers crimes for money. In a world where criminals consider each other family and those who decide to quit turn into betrayers, they won't be going around committing petty crimes . The film is about that last ounce of humanity that screams out to be saved. And when everybody else turns a deaf ear to it, one person doesn’t. A profound performance by everyone and one more breathtaking role by Jang Dong Gun.

I hope that you survive this weekend and if my ear buzzes, I'd know why!
