After the amazing wrap up of Reply 1988 that left me in tears and with mixed feelings, I decided to take it slow in dramaland and watch something not hyped. Since I love action and fantasy genres, Moorim School seemed to fit the criteria very well, and I was not disappointed.

The story is about a unique school that focuses on martial arts, which our main four characters study in. Our two main leads were forced to enter the mysterious Moorim School and must graduate from it in order to achieve their desired dreams.

The Main Leads:

Wang Chi Ang (Hong Bin - VIXX member)

He is the typical rich heir of a large enterprise group, yet he surprises us by having a heart that genuinely cares for people. He was forced to become roommates with Shi Woo. While they started on the wrong track, their hidden good nature made them realize that they can be friends and help each other in their journey at Moorim School.

Hwang Sun Ah (Jeong Yoo Jin

She is an A student who excels at everything, and is the daughter of dean Hwang Moo Song.

My thoughts:

I get the low ratings for this drama as there is nothing special or new about it, just the fact that these students know martial arts and have super powers. Yet I am still watching it for the bromance and the healthy competition between the main male leads.

It’s rare to see good friendships in dramas, especially when they focus more on love lines than friendships, but this drama has that uniqueness in friendship building.

Chi Ang and Shi Woo are the type of guys who can both be viewed as arrogant as hell in order to protect themselves from others. But once they found that they are the same, their friendship blossomed and that's what is making me continue watching this drama. Actually, I am excited for the upcoming episodes!

If you are looking for a light drama that has a first love/crush, martial arts, fantasy, and a little bit of mystery, give Moorim School a try, but don’t take it too seriously.
