Sophie (Ziyi Zhang) is a talented cartoonist who seems to have it all - a successful career, great friends, and the perfect, handsome, fiancé, Jeff (So Ji-Sub), a surgeon who her mother adores. So when Jeff is stolen away by Anna (Bingbing Fan), a beautiful actress, Sophie wants revenge. The first step in her plan, "Sympathy and Understanding," fails, as does the second step, "Nostalgia." Sophie's friends invite her out to a party to cheer her up, but she runs into Jeff and Anna. She also runs into Gordon (Peter Ho), a photographer, who apparently has been recently dumped by Anna. She quickly elicits his help in her revenge campaign. With Gordon, Sophie continues to implement the other steps of her plan. But "Reinvention" fails. So does "Entrapment." Gordon reluctantly agrees to help Sophie with "Arousing Jealousy," where they both behave like lovers in front of Jeff and Anna. Finally, something in her plan begins to work: Jeff seems to be jealous. A thrilled Sophie is convinced that the next step, "Search and Rescue," will be her final winning move. But Gordon refuses to help, and confesses that he has fallen in love with Sophie, who, sooner than expected, is confronted by a repentant Jeff who wants her back! Who should she choose for true love and happiness?

  1) The reason I watched this:
  
  I don't usually watch Chinese rom-coms but this one slipped away when I was watching too many romantic comedies.
  
  2) Storyline/Plot:
  
  The general story isn't something special or new but the way everything was mixed together made the film's story interesting somehow.
  
  Positive points:
  
  *The film's introduction was a good intro for what will happen next.
  *There were two well-written twits that you don't usually find in romantic comedies stories: that was a nice change.
  *Leads mixture was really cool even though it wasn't that intense.
  *Finally and most importantly, there were several hilarious moments to make the film lighter.
  
  Negative points:
  
  *Although there were a respectable amount of negative points but I will only mention that the revenge plot wasn't that great, it would have been much better if it was written otherwise.
  
  Story: 7.5/10
  
  3) Acting/Cast:
  
  *Zhang Ziyi: It was a surprise to see her in a rom-com film since I only saw her in Wuxia productions before. I was convinced by her acting but I can't say the same about her character.
  *Other actors were good too, they knew how to make it really enjoyablespecially Fan Bing Bing she grasped the evil role perfectly but So Ji Sub was a disappointement here (mainly because I rarely like Korean actors in Chinese or Taiwanese productions).
  
  *The chemistry was believable but not that enjoyable.
  
  Cast: 7/10
  Acting: 7.5/10
  
  4) The ending:
  
  Although it could have been much better but script writers chose to make it expected. It wasn't bad overall.
  
  The ending: 7/10.
  
  5) My impression (How did affect me):
  
  *Although it wasn't a special film, it was entertaining and I had fun while watching it.
  *Considering the fact that I don't watch Chinese romantic comedies, this was pretty good.
  
  My impression 7/10.
  
  6) Overall:
  
  *If you like romantic comedies then you would like this.
  *Ifyou like revenge plots then don't expect much from this.

  I came across this movie because I was bored. I was not in the mood for something boring.
  As soon as this movie began, it had my attention.
  It's a pretty basic plot that if it were any other movie it'd probably be boring. But this movie had me laughing and going OMG! because of all the antics and trouble that Sophie would get into.
  It was so entertaining! I was only 20 min into the movie when I texted my cousin to tell her to watch it.
  And then out of nowhere, there's a twist on the basic plot.
  It was refreshing.
  The characters were amazing. I wish we could've seen more of her friends or even some other supporting characters because they were such rich characters with a lot of potential.
  But this is Sophie's Revenge and therefore it revolves around her revenge.
  All in all it was a cute, fun, entertaining movie. I'm so glad I stumbled across it. If I could find it, I would totally purchase it. read more

  Seducing Mr. Perfect

  They are both about woman who get dumped by their boyfriends and want them back. Meanwhile they fall in love with the man who're helping them. Both movies are funny and nice to watch.
