100% agreed.
The main problem is that every time you edit a list, it gets sent to the top, so everything ends up in a messy jumble.
The easiest/simplest way to fix that is to allow us to assign a permanent "order", just like how we do it for the titles/actors on each list. What would be even better is to also give us the ability to add "custom category dividers" (like how forums are set up). So, for example:
