Who are your favorite Japanese Actresses?

I'm so bad, I choose my favorite actresses mostly according to how they look, so superficial, but I really like all of their acting too.

Horikita Maki - She is cuteness in human form. I like her most in Hana Kimi and Atashinchi no Danshi. I wish she played more roles like this.

Aibu Saki - She is so pretty and her smile is gorgeous. I actually liked her acting best in Buzzer Beat, although her character is a really bia. I'd like to see her in more serious roles because she was cute in Zettai Kareshi but a little unconvincing.

Kuroki Meisa - She is stunningly beautiful. I loved her sweet innocent compassionate role in One Pound Gospel.

Kichise Michiko - She's got the whole cougar thing going on, and all I can say is Miss Kichise please take me lol. I love her acting in Bloody Monday, and Boss, and everything else I've seen her in. She always does a good job.

Inoue Mao - I was really impressed with her acting skills in HYD, and I think she is really cute in First Kiss

Ueno Juri - How she ever pulled off a crazy character like Nodame I'll never know, but she did it so great that I totally fell in love with her. I wanna see more rolls with her like this.

Erika Toda - I always really like her characters, especially in SPEC and Boss. I think she's cute, but she's not quite as cute as the others.

Kitano Kii. Her acting is exceptional, and she's still so young. I envy and admire her. The way she acted in LIFE and Halfway blew me away.

I agree with akai, Maya Miki by far. She's a genuine talent. She plays a variety of roles in film and in theater. In interviews, she's so young at heart and carefree while still being professional. I want to be her when I grow up hehehe.

honorable mention: Kanako Yaganihara--she hasn't been in many dramas, but she is a wonderful character actor who has a terrific sense of comedic timing. I also respect her for making a place for big girls in mainstream Japanese media. She's the only successful, young girl her size that I remember seeing on Japanese TV.

Truly Great, i only know of the girl from Yamato Hadeshiko Shichi Henge and I can't even remember her name. I know others but she made an impression.

1. Iwasa Mayuko- I love her role as Hibari in Hana Kim and I been biased for her ever since then lol.
2. Toda Erika- I love her role in Liar Game and her acting is always superb.
3. Yui Aragaki- She plays such sweet calm roles.
