editSynopsis

Yamada Taro, a freshman on a scholarship at Ichinomiya Private Senior High School, is high-achieving, strikingly handsome, and truly athletic and seems perfect. But he is actually extremely poor. The story humorously portrays Taro, who tackles problems that occur because of his poverty, and his six younger brothers and sisters. --TBS

The drama's a bit old, but for Arashians and non-Arashians alike, this was a heartwarming but also very humorous drama to watch.

The story might not seem particularly notable, and actually rather cliche, but Yamada Taro Monogatari turned out to have a very interesting final conflict and ending. It was a touching story about friendship, family, and making it past financial troubles. It's cliche, but you'll just have to trust me when I say it's worth a try if you're looking for laughs AND tears.

I will disclaim that I did not like the first few episodes that focus on the leading actress AT ALL. I didn't like the actress to begin with, and her acting gave me creeper goosebumps. Blech! She gets better later, I

Just finished watching this drama and i loved it...this is my first time writing a review so ill try my best...the whole story line was great and very sweet..i liked it because how cute the family and Nino was and also i loved Sakurai Sho smile (*Faint*)
thought i should add a little more since this was kind of vague...had a fan girl moment lol
if you like feel good dramas then this is a great drama for you...its very touching and and deals with friendship and family
the only complaint is how annoying the girl is...but eventually you get over it...there is not really much romance in it...but there are lots of cute and funny moments...and some scenes will even make you tear up....i gave

  • Both dramas have a main character named Yamada Taro who's from very very poor family.
    reportRecommended by HAVA-RAVA
  • They both involve large families, and the oldest child having to support them because of their low-income/no-income/lousy parents. Though the stories are totally different, however, they're both very enjoyable.

Has anyone seen it and wants to tell if it's worth watching or not? I think the 2nd review is a little useless and the first one seems rather negative about the female mc, the acting and the simple plot even though she rated it with a nice 8?
