Everybody in Daikichi's family looks at the girl as an embarrassment and wants no part of her. Daikichi, annoyed by his family's attitude, decides to raise Rin by himself. Even though Daikichi himself has no experience raising a child and is still single. The movie is based on Yumi Unita's popular manga series "Usagi Drop".

It is cute all over, it doesn't bore you, it doesn't make you skip any parts, it enters your heart, grows inside and leaves happily.
I am neutral about the music, there was a german song in the beginning, it was quite fun to watch Daikichi's fantasy and the music fitted it but other than that one song i don't really remember others, means they don't really stand out.
the story is nice, i love Daikichi and Rin's relationship. they do no cuddling, no "i love you so much daddy" but you just feel the love. It is the success of both the story and the actors.

I had watched anime last year and when I found out about the movie I couldn't wait. I had fallen in love with the story and how they go about it. The movie is not fast paced since the story itself isn't. It is somewhat slow, but the almost two hours went by fairly fast all the same.
The two main actors, Matsuyama Kenichi and Ashida Mana, do such a great job acting that even without obvious caring words, they pull off showing how much read more report I found this review Helpful Not Helpful

They are both about young guys who are trussed into parenthood. In Usagi Drop the main character decides to take in his very young aunt and in Baby & Me the main character finds out he has a son and must take care of him. Even though the stories are not exactly the same, they do have a similar feeling. Both guys are forced to change their lives to accommodate a child which they grow to love.

Both series are about a single man bringing who suddenly ''decides'' to bring up a young girl. Though the girl in My Girl is the man's own child, the girl in Usagi Drop is the man's niece. Both are also about combining single-parenting and work. Also both are great! :)reportRecommended by MyOwnJudgement
