Kaoru dreamily gazes from her bedroom window each morning just before dawn. She can see a stretch of the beach in front of her parent's house on a hill in Kamakura, but focuses upon the activity at the bus stop where Koji and his two best friends meet before going surfing. The appearance of the sun causes her to lowers the blinds and go to sleep for she suffers from Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) and exposure to the sun's rays has had the potential to kill her. At night she walks to the train station, plays her guitar and sings songs she has written, commonly returning home just a few minutes before it starts getting light.     I wish I could complain about this movie. Ok wait, i don't. This movie was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!



    Story: 10/10 The story is one that will motivate you while tears stream down your eyes. It has themes of "High School" romance mixed in with following your dreams to the very end.



    Cast/Acting 10/10 I couldn't ask for a better cast. They truly did a flawless job.



    Music: 10/10 I still listen to the theme song by Yui (who also acted in this movie) two weeks after I watched the movie. The only "downside" about this movie is that you get addicted to the wonderful music by Yui.

    Just one minute ago I finished watching this Drama here.
    You may wonder why I gave it such a high rating?
    It´s the first time I am absolutely sure about the reason for myself.

    To simplify it I am stunned.
    Stunned by the loving actors and the ending too....

    I have watched the Drama before and just discovered it today after finding out about the Movie. I did give it a 7 though~
    I was too sad at the end. Weirdly I am not too but with a kind of relieved feeling.

    This is better than the drama. WHY??? cause the drama is like made for ratings THIS one is made for the sake of ART. I like the artistic view of the director i mean those silent moment of the movies.

    The director did make it lighter than I expected. Didn't cry that much. It wasn't heartbreaking to the extent that I burst into tears. I did manage to like this until the end. YUI has a sweet and great voice.

    this movie was actually really boring to me. I watched it right after I saw the drama version. It was just too slow, and then there wasn't any romance. Second time meeting he asks her out and then a few mins later she breaks it off and then days later they are back together..... Not to mention their first meeting was just plain weird

    The only thing I liked was that it was realistic and didn't include all the annoying friends and their wackiness like in the drama. Oh and Yui sings better than Erika IMO

      The boring moment for you is great for me. Those silent moments of the movie was intended. Have you notice the theme when yui is on screen? ITS DARK when kouji is on screen its bright....then when they meet together its grayish, dark meets bright. How about the emotion when yui moved that post so that he can see kouji clearer in the morning(is that not romatic?). I seriously love this movie its so damn artistic, it even shown in cannes.

      About the drama how can you fill those 10 eps without those annoying friends and their wachikness huh?

      This movie made me love POCARI SWEAT so much.

    I cried not because it's sad. I cried because i realized how blessed i am for having a normal life. This movie teaches a lot of lessons. YUI did a very good job! :')

    It's a very good movie. Well they could put here in sunglasses when looking outside because they can't look to very bright places. They are very sensitive. But poor Japanese people... they are 6 times of affected by this disease than any other people.

    Rewatch Value: Sure I am not sure weather to ever watch it agaín but I can say it´s my wish to do it. You can learn a lot by this movie here. If I ever feel the modd to watch it again I will. I am sure I will be as touched as right now. YES I will~

    As for the girl´s parent´s....They were like parents I could imagine in real life perfectly. You could see their love coming towards the girl~ Nothing more to say here.You will see it if you may want to :)
    Music: As I stated before I loved that girl´s voice. It was just plain beautiful and always in the perfect moments. Like a pure voice. Yes you could sayy it like that. Especially ONE song is still stuck in my head right now. What I really liked too,is that the actress sang it for herself!!!!And when she has ended there are scenes you are just dreaming...It´s weird but everything is silent and you can see how that works on you even more.

    Acting/Cast: From the beginning I loved the girl. Usually the main-girl is always the most important person for me in a Drama/Movie. If I don´t like her...then it get´s hard to like/love the Drama/Movie in itself already.
    This time the actress got my heart in ONE instance. REally natural acting. I loved watching her. Especially singing *smiles*
    She has a beautiful voice~
    As to the main-male-lead he was great too...I am not sure what to say about him but in my opinion he was fitting her personality perfectly^^
