"Koizora" is a love story that was originally published on the popular cell phone site Mahou no iRando. It was authored by new writer Mika, and is based on her own experiences. The story was released in book form last October, selling more than a million copies in its first month. The story revolves around Mika (named after the author), who falls in love with her classmate, Hiroki, upon entering high school. But over the course of the novel, she ends up suffering through many trials, such as rape, abortion, and betrayal.

    At first I was hesitant in watching the movie because I wasn't sure if it was worth it but when I actually got around to watching it I was glad I did. I would definately rewatch Koizora, actually I just finished rewatching it a few days ago.

    The story overall was beautiful and touching... I laughed and cried along with the characters. Be prepared though, if you are going to watch this movie, have a box of tissues by your side because you will cry your eyes out. Anyone who hasn't watched Koizora should; it expresses the feelings of absolute happiness and pain.

    Hold on, I need a tissue. :( I JUST finished watching this very touching movie. It was not really what I expected, and like some who saw the poster, I was iffy. I thought the white hair was a bit silly and that it would just be another typical love story/drama/tragedy. Now, either way, whether it was typical or not I probably would've cried (its just the way I am). But I was surprised at how different and touching (not to mention tear jerking) it was. Quiet, emotional, beautiful, relatable, sad, and inspirational are the words that come to mind.

    I didn't mind the white hair after - now that I think of it, it was probably some sort of representation of something deeper. The story

    Please tell me what would be better to see first, this film or the drama?

    Hmmm... the plot wasn't exactly very original and I felt like it was trying too hard to pull my tears. There are so many movies with the theme of a loved one dying from some life threatening illness so it has to be really unique and with an interesting plot to win me over. This was quite a disappointment tbh. Watch More Than Blue, or 1 Litre of Tears instead - much better movies that are similar to this.

    This film was very unrealistic and was disappointing. It was supposed to be tragic but it wasn't - I think this was mostly due to the fast pace of the film.
    It had a lot of predictable events in it as well.

    I loved the movie but...It felt kinda awful how she said she has to live happily, but that she will always love him. It's like saying Hiro will be a shadow following her all her life. How could she possibly love another man? Or have a family?
    I guess it IS romantic, but...That doesn't make me feel happy for her. She's just a poor thing stuck with the dead love of her life.

    I want to watch this movie so badly but I've read the entire plot for it so I know I will be crying bucket loads of tears if I do ;___;

    I've already seen the drama, and completely loved it, and I was planning on watching the movie soon but...I don't know if I can watch Miura Haruma die! Ack, after seeing his epicness in other roles, I don't think I can handle this tragedy! He's just too adorable ;)

    hi, is it comedy? On second thought, maybe not, since this one is label as "tragic". Can anyone confirm this?
    • Maiyuma Apr 8, 2013
