This drama is one of my personal favorites because despite the heavy drama on the plot itself, it managed to deliver the message to the viewers in a light and not so draggy way. It was actually kind of realistic compared to most dramas. I personally commend on how the characters are developed like real persons and not that in a fictional drama. Emotions were depicted as how a real person would feel it, definitely not exaggerated. It showed life's uncertainties and the reality that people, most of the time, don't know what to do when faced with adversities. It was also straight to the point and didn't include unnecessary drama and it has subtlety. I honestly admire all its aspects: the cast, story line, soundtrack read more

First of all- Japanese really know how to make dramas. They really know how to hit you right on the spot. This is exactly the kind of drama I have been looking for. 'You Taught Me All The Important Things' is a very accurate name for it. If I had to describe it as briefly as possible- I would say this is literally about learning the important things in life, and how these situations or lessons can help you grow up.

We get to see the story in two parts- one where the story begins and other six months later. It had me entertained, frustrated, depressed and happy. But only when a story manages in getting the right reactions out of you, you can say it

Overall this drama was decent. It was very dramatic, but in a way that wasn't very predictable. In the end, I found that the character's decisions were very unexpected despite how realistic their decisions were. Usually in dramas like this, there is some unexpected twist that is completely unrealistic, but the realism in this drama was very well done. The characters in this drama all have a major flaw, or more than one, but this is developed to show how they improve on their flaw later on in life. If you like slice of life dramas with no real substance then I would recommend this as a mere entertainment rather than something to obsess over.

One of those not-so-known dramas yet a VERY VERY VERY GOOD ONE... Compared to other romance dramas, the story of TAISETSU NA KOTO WA SUBETE KIMI GA OSHIETE KURETA (You Taught Me All the Important Things) is very realistic. It is not CHILDISH. It is HEARTWARMING, BEAUTIFUL & TOUCHING. Don't expect this to be like those typical romantic dramas that mainly focus on how two individuals fall in love. This drama shows a different side of LOVE & LIFE. It shows how DIFFERENT people CHANGE & GROW because of LOVE. It gives the word LOVE a much more deeper meaning.

Though the story was serious and was kind of heavy, it was not dragging and it was presented in a way that viewers would want to

A word of warning. This review will be very and I mean very long. As a word document, it is about 2 pages long…single-spaced. This is because this drama had an impact on me, left me with a lot of thoughts and I wish to convey that, I wish to convey the feelings and thought process that went through my heart and head as I watched this drama...and for this drama you use both. That's why the review will focus mostly on reviewing the ways in which this drama is thought provoking. It will be mostly about what I saw in there and why this drama should be watched. So you can stop right here, if you wish to.

If you still continue to read, thank

Overall this drama is pretty good, but not amazing. It is not heart-wrenching but it had enough drama to keep me entertain. There are some plot holes (Shuji got drunk enough to forget what happens but not drunk enough to get a hangover) but they aren't major so it can be ignored. The high point of Taisetsu is the actors/actresses. Although Takei Emi is a new actress, she did an amazing job. She had the most complex character in this drama and I wouldn't want anyone else to act it. Toda Erika was amazing as always and so was Miura Haruma but Takei really surprised me. In the beginning, I didn't like Takei's character but I began to sympathize with her throughout the drama. Miura's character, read more

This drama was just okay for me. I love the actors in this drama, but the characters were lacking which I think was more from the script than their acting. Miura's character seemed like he could not make up his mind and was very frustrating, and his relationship with the student was unclear throughout the drama. Some of the supporting characters also lacked a good background story. I didn't really like the P!nk soundtrack either and really only fit half of the situations. It is pretty realistic in terms of how the situations would be handled and the morals it taught. And I also thought the ending was good. While this wasn't one of my all time favorites, it is worth a watch if you have read more
