editSynopsis

Jin Joo is a half Korean and Vietnamese girl who marries a Korean man, Kang Jun Woo, in order to come to Korea to look for her biological father who abandoned her. The drama is not only about her searching for her dad but also about the cultural differences between her and her husband's family. There is bad blood between the two families, Kim and Kang. The rivalry is even more fueled because Jun Woo's mother used to date Young Min's father but Young Min's mother stole him away from her. Kang Sae Mi is Jun Woo's sister and Kim Young Soo is Young Min's younger brother. They want to get married but both families oppose their marriage which leads to the two young lovers running away and living together.

I really enjoyed watching this drama till it's mid passing point. It was a nice different perspective on how love can evolve over time and finally reach a very nice peak. Yet, the side stories started getting tangled up and annoying because it was way too easy to predict what will happen and how this will end so I just simply stopped at episode 33 and I don't think I will return to it again.

well, the first 30 episodes are fine, and the premise was interesting and I approached this drama with an open mind... but after ep30 I'm actually skipping episodes, it's a standard k drama fare, with annoying meddling third woman coming in and even an annoying ex. The family is nice, but our main golden bride says one thing but does another, it eventually loses its freshness after a while. The parents are very nice, however. And the aunt and her husband are really funny, but I can't give it more than 5 as watching it gets really tiresome after episode 33. I just want to finish this and move on. It's a one time watch, and parts are a skippable because they are predictable, but it's pleasant, so give it a try by if you like stories like ojakgyo brothers or be strong geum soon. The characters are likeable mostly but nothing special.

It's a family drama with hints of makajang and makjang-like devices. In some ways, it is typical. However, I like the main protagonist, though there are times when she overacts/overdramatises but she is in general a very endearing character. I like the family, especially junWoo's mother and father, good people There are character who have some serious problems here in a somewhat typical drama fashion, but the story is actually quite nice. It had great ratings in Korea at the time of ita airing, apparently so great that they extended it by 14 episodes.
