I am not really into a supernatural fictional stories or dramas but Padam Padam really got me watching it until the end. Jung Woo Sung, Na Moon Hee, and Han Ji Min really got me teary-eyed due to their skillful acting. At the first episode I was thinking if I'll continue watching it but right after that you'll get curious on how the crime on this drama will end. You must try watching this drama and you'll never regret it.

This is a drama that does not fit simply into one category. I'd say Padam Padam is equal parts love story, tearjerker, crime drama, and supernatural tale. It combines all four genres seamlessly, and every moment of it felt genuine. I think much of the credit should go to the outstanding cast. I also liked that the director made some interesting storytelling choices that kept me engaged. This drama may not be fast paced, but it's originality stopped me from ever being bored. It was also consistently good. Not one of the 20 episodes felt like filler/unnecessary to me... and I think that's rare.

I can't think of one bad actor in this cast. Jung Woo Sung, as Yang Kang Chil, was intense, and very moving.

  • They deal with similar themes where two people lead conformist lives until something happens which makes them want to change how they live.

  • Padam Padam is the better drama if you're limited on time. Though, both dramas deal with a huge mother-son relationship. The characters' lives also feel like a similar tone. All of them have problems and it deals a lot with a slice of life even though they're melodramas.

WEll I watched what I could so far and I am looking forward to next episodes. I realy do love this drama. It's handled differently than most dramas and the camerwaork is absolutely stunning at times. Characters are relatable especially thiose who are judgmental. Because we ARE judgmental. And in any kind of drama or tragedy we always pity the good person, whereas people like ourselves, judgmental e.x are likely the ones we react most to in a critical way, eause of the distance to the traits created we do not really see it that way, it;s the magic of performance. That's what a good stage play does and that's what a good drama should do, imho.

I am so freaking mad at Ji Na right now. She is accusing Kang Chil of murdering her mother for no reason. She is just as bad as every1 who blamed him w/o a just reason. I can't believe how she treats him. They all treat him like crap & it kills me. Even if he did kill Min Ho I would still treat him like I do every1 else. There is no reason to treat him like that. I hope she & her father get exactly what they deserve. At least her mother had forgiveness in her heart for the person that committed the crime. Ji Na is just like her father, judgmental!

Melwill, this is a spoiler. Could you maybe use spoiler tag next time? Also wait for episode 11. I think you're not giving her enough credit and she may yet turn out to be a bigger person.
But I do agree, the attitudes to him are remorseful. That's why it;s such a good drama. Because he;s an honestly good guy. Love the Angel Bum too.

I don't think she is that type of person. I understand that she loves her dad, but she also hates him b/c of his abusive bx, which is typical bx. I work w/ abused children, so I see her bx as right on in this area. But, I also see her irrational accusation of killing her mother as a way to cover up how she rly feels. She is using him for what she wants then throwing him away when it is convenient 4 her. I don't like her character.

ok, point taken. and I can def see your point. I agree insofar as the doc is indeed a selfish character. I didn't like it whe she didn't want to tell anyone she was dating him, I found that pathetic. As far as everything else, as Kang chil said, Not even her mother fully belierved him, and I think this is supposed to be a part of the remoresfulness of our judgmentality. But I am willing to see whether something might improve. This is a drama, we can expect a 180 degree change, though I am also inclined to believe that at the next impulse she will change her mind again, and the poot Kang chil is already hurting enough. I think the single mother is somewhat more likeable. That father person is incredibly hateful...so do you think that the death of his brother is only an excuse for abusive behaviour?
    • Bladey-Steeleye Jan 13, 2012
I do agree, however, that what we see that drinking hateful person do to Kang Chil as a boy was just terrifying, but police men and security sometimes do use excessive sadistic bruatlity, which is why I find this convincving. Also no one believing Kang chil and treating him like dirt is what we do to others, by being judgmental so it's also real .

I work w/ kids who r treated like that daily by their family & it is only an excuse to be aggressive. He beat his wife & he even slapped Ji Na just b/c she didn't want to talk to him. Any excuse to be aggressive is how her father lives. He is 2 quick 2 use his fists when he should be asking questions & listening as a cop. I have worked w/ police officers b/c of my kids & they r good at finding lies & truth w/o hitting any1. Being physical w/ a suspect is their last resort & only if the suspect does something that could be harmful to themselves or others. I just don't believe that b/c her dad is a cop makes him exempt from going 2 jail for assault. If a cop was beating some1 up like that I would do everything I could to stop them b/c no1 that is laying on the ground in the fetal position crying, begging the man to stop deserves that. I don't care what they did.

I love how Kang Chil has a morbid sense of humor. It kills me b/c I understand how he feels. He is pessimistic & optimistic @ the same time. Oh how I love Kim Bum's character. He is doing an amazing job in this drama. LOVING IT!

This is a very different drama; the first erpisode has struck me with some good camerawork which gives space for the main actor to leave strong impressions. I like it. For now at least.
