Kazuyuki Yamamura works at a major advertising agency and is the breadwinner of his family, consisting of himself, his wife Miki, and daughter Rie. He purchases a house and is proud of being at the pinnacle of his career. Kazuyuki's neighbor, Yusuke Sugio, however, leads a completely different life. The breadwinner of his family is his wife Shoko, who runs her own company. Yusuke is a so-called "at-home dad", and because of this, Kazuyuki considers him miserable and helpless. Suddenly one day, Kazuyuki is forced to quit his company. At the same time, his wife receives a call from her former employer saying he wants her to come back to work. Consequently, Kazuyuki has no other choice but to stay at home while Miki works. Kazuyuki reluctantly starts his new life as a household husband, the last thing he wanted to do. Ah one of my favorite dramas, that was also one of my first watched dramas. As you've read the summary you know this is about a dad who loses his job and so he stays home and takes care of the children while his wife works. It has a unique storyline, comedy, drama, and it's rather enjoyable to watch so I give the story a 10. I'm a big fan of Hiroshi Abe, so i might be a bit biased when it comes to the Cast/Acting but i really think they did a brilliant job, so for the Cast/Acting, i'm going to also give it a 10. The music was ok. As for rewatch value, i'm generally not a rewatcher, so this gets a 7 for rewatchability. Overall though it's a solid drama that everyone should watch.

the story of this drama is definitely not boring and not something that we see a lot. during the time it aired, i am pretty sure it was new for it's time. First of all, the fact that it is about someone who decided to become an "at home dad" because his wife had work and he was fired. All in all, he could not find a job so it was his last resort. by taking the role of the house-man though and making friends with his neighbor he matured into becoming a proper dad for his child.

the acting, needless to say , it was outstanding. all of the actors definitely did great in this seeing as most of them have had a lot of experience too. abe hiroshi was once again great and the friendship between the two male leads was truly amusing.

the music was okay for the drama, quite enjoyable and i think that rewatching wouldn't hurt. I think it would still remain funny.
