Psychological thriller, intrigue and revenge. Moon Chae Won in the cast. Song Joong Ki is a brilliant, dedicated and affectionate student, until he meets the person who it would make your life hell. He is betrayed and decides to take revenge by approaching someone important in the life of the ex.However, he did not expect that he could develop other feelings for this person. Should you give up revenge for a carefree life? Both Dramas ask this essential question. Bonus: Moon Chae Won acts in both.

Both dramas involve a main male lead who is poor and who deceives the female lead for greed and personal gain.

Both male leads come from a similar, rough/poor, background with dreams of in a way climbing the social ladder and also painfully can't seem to let go of their first love - a relationship that is based on rather dark feelings than love. Though there is no revenge plot in "me too, flower" there is still a similar, even if minor, intense atmosphere.

Quite a leap from melo to action thriller - but City Hunter is also a revenge thriller and it's great to see how very different a basic premise like that can be handled. It also handles themes such as is love weakness? Do you need to hide yourself emotionally to be successful or to survie? Plus another lead pair with superb chemistry; really welll acted evil mastermind, a truly comic retainer in the City Hunter's ahjussi; and a cute bromance!

If you want to check out Song Joong Ki performance in another work before watching Vincenzo, please consider checking Innocent Man first instead of Descendants of the Sun. It's another modern work of his and he shows more acting skills in it than DOTS. (Actually for me, he was the best in Tree with Deep Roots and Arthdal Chronicles, but some Vincenzo fans might not like them as much due to them being serious sageuk so I suggest Innocent Man first).

If you loved Song Joong Ki in DOTS, you won't regret watching him in Innocent Man. It's his best performance to date.
