This is one of many dramas that starting beautifully and end up badly, i was loving it till about 14 eps, then it goes repetitive and boring,

it's about a girl who dream to be a ceramist but in her time no woman allowed to become one, so here we have a lot of struggling with some birth secret, a prince charming and some skillful childhood brother involved, well, nothing new, but with a lot of talented actors i expect more from this drama, the plot freeze at some point and trust me it's going nowhere, the characters have no development at all till the last ep, the relationships are worse, can u believe when ur childhood brother confess to you as a man and u never

This drama was tough to get through. In a good way, if there is one. With characters you love to hate, and "villains" you want to sympathize with, I was most definitely emotionally involved.

Story: As stated in the synopsis, the story revolves around Jung Yi, based on real life Baek Pa Seon, a fiery young woman who's life revolves around love ceramics, and getting herself into trouble, one way or another. Aside from a few slow episodes involving a lot of things about ceramics (which I personally liked as an artist) and a less than full-filling ending, the story unfolded with much anticipation and excitement.

Acting: Maybe I'm biased because I came into the drama to see more of Moon Geun Young because I adored

  • They are both very similar. The main actress in both is Moon Geun Young and she disguises herself as a boy in both. They are both historical drama's and focus on crafts. The Painter of the Wind is about a painter and Goddess Of Fire, Jeongi is about a potter.

  • both are romantic historical dramas which emphasize a love triangle between the main female character and a/two member/s of the royal family and, in Jung Yi, a close childhood friend. Also, a thing which I found very similar was the fact that both stories begin with a sequence of the childhood of the main characters (in which are acting young actors) ^^

did i miss something or that was really the ending of the show??? like in the end she FINALLY confesses that she love him (but dont say those words exactly) but she had to go back. i was hoping that prince gwang hae kissed her and tell her to wait i will win this war so i can come back 2 you. and the 17 years later i was hoping like where is everyone did the king and queen died, what about im hae where he go and the rest of the ppl what happen to them. it was like here king gwang hae all mature with a beard and imagining jung yi giving him a vase and stuff and that was the end...... man sorry if my thing is long im just disappointed at the ending that all......

upset at the ending don't understand why she couldn't be with him. The show dragged on a bit from the middle to end. Started off good. Disappointed on the romance between jung yi(moon geun young) and prince gwang hae(lee sang yoon. Their should been more romance and chemistry between them. huh soo disappointing.

My Kim Bum got himself a girlfriend! O.o
But I understand how Moon Geun Young felt. It's impossible to resist that smile. XD

And according to some people Kim Tae Do was married to Jung Yi. So it's not only in real life but in history too. Only drama failed.

Now, how I'm going to finish this drama with an ending like this! T_T

Really what with that ending. If you are going to twist the fact then twist it until the end like seriously she could have come back !!

Okay let's set the facts straight. Tae Do dying was lame, purley lame. Never once I thought a character would need a more emotional dying scene than Tae Do. But this... honestly... No! And then you get this Ending. SHE WAS KIDNAPPED BY THE MING!!!! NOT THE JAPANESE!!! AND SHE IS NOT STAYING THERE!!!! SHE RETURNED!!! SO WHY NOT (if you are already at twisting the historical facts) TWIST IT SOME MORE SO SHE RETURNS AND WE GET A HAPPY UNREALISTIC LOVEY DOVEY ENDING. GNAH!. And I swear they should have concentrated much more on the japanese war, and let the major plot happen there, this would have been a lot more interesting. What an unsatisfying Drama

This was an interesting drama for me to watch mainly for the part concerning the ceramic making in the Joseon era. Besides this aspect I found the plot to be quite typical and similar to other saeguks seen before and I also thought the ending to be quite unsatisfactory. I rated it 8 mostly because of the effort gone into producing 32 episodes and for the good acting of most of the cast.
