In Sector 7, an underwater oil field located south of Jeju Island, Hae-jun is working as a marine equipment manager on an oil prospecting ship called Eclipse. Joining the crew later is Jeong-man, a former colleague of Hae-jun's father, assigned to Eclipse as captain. Though his job is to oversee the withdrawal of the ship, he suggests conducting some drilling one last time. After 3 weeks of preparation, Hae-jun takes new recruit underwater, but he sinks to the bottom of the sea when his equipment fails. Shortly after crew members begin to turn up dead, one by one, their bodies viciously mutilated. What the few survivors soon discover is a transparent underwater creature they encountered once before. The viral monster infiltrated the ship through the drilling pipe and has been feeding on the crew to survive. For Hae-jun and her colleagues, a fight for their lives begins.

Ha Ji Won is kickass. No matter what role she plays, she does it perfectly. No matter how you look at it, the storyline wasn't the best - but it was thrilling. I was at the edge of my seat most of the movie. It was exciting, although there isn't a lot of depth to it. Some of the scenes, you could tell it wasn't real because it was cheaply done, but I digress; it shouldn't keep you from watching. The acting was on point and perfectly done; All the fighting scenes were badass. The monster was super scary looking. A weird, but easy watch.

Omo, i did not expect that there was that kind of monster!
Not that great but it's a good movie :)
I wish they do the "motor scene" in live action ;)

Sector 7, all I can say is, who thought up such a terrifying horrible looking creature? It's a good movie though. If you are fan of alien and creeping looking creatures with tentacles flying around and really large mouths such as the ones in Men In Black, then go right for it. Ha Ji Won, Oh Ji Ho and the rest of the cast did a good job also.

The story is all but incoherent, providing no character motivation for what is supposed to be going on, or credible set-up on why these people are actually there. The monster seems to be a visual without any real thought on what it was or what it could do, and is as contradictory as the writing is bad. At one point the cracking makes you think crustacean, but like the film it's a mess. The acting is, too a man/woman, laughably bad - Ha Ji-Won's action posing is hilarious. The effects are often cartoonish - particularly anything with the bikes. I did wonder if it had been rushed out without proper post-production? And it's pretty sad given South Korea has, IMO, given us one of the best monster films in recent years with The Host. Sector 7 is easily one of the worst.

I've seen around 400+ films this year. Sector 7 is sitting comfortably in the bottom 10. I was terribly disappointed.

I don't totally agree with you. It's more like watching Men In Black or some Alien-movie. It does have a storyline and characters. If one isn't a fan of such a movie, it's an epic fail, but if one is a fan, then it's good. True, it isn't a movie I would watch again.

The movie in itself isn't very captivating, but of course, if you're a Ha Ji Won's fan then it's another story <3 . It's not a movie I would watch over and over, but I believe it is worth watching it.
