When she was in grade 5 at primary school, she and her family moved to Sydney, Australia, where she used the Westernized name, Cherry Byun. Byun made her entertainment debut when she won the 71st Miss Chunhyang Pageant in 2001. Using the stage name Lee Da Hae, she began to appear in minor and supporting roles in television dramas.
Lee, who is fluent in English and Mandarin, and has a significant fan base in China with over 6 million followers on her Weibo microblog, and made her Chinese television drama debut in 2012 in the drama "Love Actually" with famous Taiwanese actor Joe Cheng.
On March 20, 2023, Lee Da Hae and K-pop star SE7EN announced their engagement, with their wedding to be held in May 6, 2023. Edit Biography
