Born in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, Liu graduated from the Guangdong Foreign Studies University of law. She served in the entertainment division-part of a performance troop in the People's Liberation Army. TV commercials led Liu into professional acting. Because of her spunk, and her never-give up personality that resembles the typical Shanghainese girl-Xing Zi, Liu was awarded the role of Xing Zi in the popular Cantonese TV series "Foreign Wives", "Local Guys". Later, she cast as Mu Sha in "Princess Returning Pearl III" and noticeably as A'zhu in "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils".
