So damn clean, his dancing. Being only sixteen and on point like this already, I cannot even imagine what Samuel Kim will look like at 21 but I'm pretty sure it'll be on fire.

You all know what's going to happen. I still think this is one of the sexiest scenes in Kdrama history.

It honestly had nothing to do with JCW...

I met an older married man via some of my other friends on social media because of mutual interests. We've talked in a group setting about certain topics that my friends enjoy discussing but it's more regarding American interests in general. A few weeks ago he came to me directly saying him and his wife got sick of standard American TV and canceled their cable and purchased a Netflix subscription. Said one day they were really bored and wanted to watch something but nothing "American" seemed appealing at the time so they came across the Kdrama section and ended up watching W...lol...they got hooked and then went on to watch BOF, which, obviously, they didn't find as appealing, but, as is the case with all of us, he talked about how, even though at first he was really, REALLY annoyed with the BOF's main lead girl and her OVERACTING, after a couple episodes it stopped bothering them and they started to enjoy watching it. HAHAHA.... Now, he tells me, that since his kids are finishing college and moving on, after watching all these Kdramas, him and his wife are seriously considering expat-ing to South Korea... Of course, being the "KNOWN" Kdrama/Kpop/Koreabo amongst my friends who have no use for it and are bewildered by my addiction, he comes to me because I'm the only one who TRULY understands where him and his wife are coming from and how the South Korean Entertainment Industry and all things Hallyu pull you IN and won't let you GO! =)

Anyway, since then he comes around talking Kdramas with me...and well, it made me remember some dramas that I've watched in the past that were really, REALLY, good. I've watched Healer, sorry to say this to my JCW fangirl friends, only ONE time. I gave it a 10, of course, and I've RE-watched a LOT of shows in my years of addiction, but for some reason, I never went back to Healer...In fact, it's been so long, I forgot aspects of the storyline. So, I've decided to RE-watch Healer again....

I'm currently on Episode 5 and I NOW remember why I gave it a 10. IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND. I realize now how much I missed because I was confused because I didn't fully understand women in the type of patriarchal society South Korea embraces, as well, as some of the relationship dynamics. Yes, the first time I watched, I got the foundation and the basics, BUT after watching a few episodes. It's another thing realizing now how I hated Moon Ho's character the first go around, but this time feel utterly sad for him with empathy and compassion. He was doing what he could knowing he had to walk a very tight thin rope or be useless as a dead man, and that it's your own family you have to be cautious over. The way they unfold the connection between everyone in this drama! WOW!! I've watched 100s of dramas now, and there are very few that have a plot with great actors that develops like this so wonderfully. Even giving it 10/10 doesn't seem to give this show the CREDIT it really deserves... If I could criticize one thing about this drama, the ONLY thing I could come up with is the BGM during fight scenes. Sometimes the "cheeriness" is a little jarring. lol... But honestly, even that, I get why they did it that way...so yeah, 10/10 and I'm not even done with it because I'm savoring every single minute. NO FASTWARDING PERMITTED. LOL!

As I'm watching it again, I wonder why I didn't re-watch it again sooner. It might be the reason why I haven't bothered to re-watch Six Flying Dragons again, even with all the episodes, when I read in the feeds people picking it up for the first time and getting excited about it. I think, "I should watch it again." but, in the end, I don't. Some of it was SO GOOD it became emotionally draining. I think in some aspects, Healer has that vibe for me as well....

...but seriously.... this show is damn good!

That mermaid bitch realizing she done everyone wrong...and "Poor Shi", being estranged by everyone, and still trying to clean up the mess from everyone's BS misunderstandings...yeah, he's not helping any, but still, he's WAY younger than all these other fools who should know better.

Every episode I find myself saying, "Poor Shi." He's got the raw end of the stick in every freaking situation!

oh yeah... and screw his mom. I'd prefer her to die. Save Shi from her creating more shit for him to clean up afterwards.

The second lead couple are totally #CoupleGoals. They're SO much better than the OTP and have some serious fiery chemistry. I honestly and truly ship them, they're that cute. lol

The second male lead and second female lead becoming a couple is the most adorable part of this drama. I really, really like their chemistry.

Okay, the second lead male & female couple hits me squarely in the feels. For a gangster, he is terribly respectful of women and an utter romantic. I'm dying here and really prefer to watch thme more than the OTP by far. The OTP is dragging.

I watched 80% of this drama at 8X speed, but I managed to get through it. This was the cookie-cutter, strawberry, vanilla version of the plot. Angst was at the level of preschool, when I'm looking for League of Legends Goth Annie in black, spitting fire, with the emo razor cuts up her arm. lol....

You honestly need to watch this without any pretext at all; never knowing the manga, anime, or J-movie, to enjoy this...and even then, you wonder what everyone's really stressing about.

A lot of liars, but I don't see any lover here...and we're at THIS point in the story??? Isn't he supposed to already be her boyfriend??? You cannot break up with someone you never had a relationship with at all.

This will be my last rant on this AND THEN I'm going to finish watching this with a mindset that this is a completely NEW drama not related to any other story or plot, PERIOD. I know my mind will try to compare and contrast, but it's already obvious to me that I will be sorely disappointed if I watch it that way... SO, to spare myself the anguish over the realization that tvN trashed a really good story to hell, for whatever reason, I'm just gonna write it off as something on its own...

...as far as my rating this??? WELL, they, sadly, choose to take the name of the manga for their title so you cannot discount that... this is supposed to be a live version of it...at this point, with out any of the following scenes shown below: 1. the record store with her bandmates and his SECOND LIE, 2. the attempt to sing in the elevator, 3. the hand over the mouth, & 4. the tears infested kiss.... YOU CANNOT GET A RATING MORE THE A 4 FROM ME. After that, based on how much further you decided to muck up this story and make these characters any less than what they are supposed to be in the manga, MORE DOWNVOTES... Honestly speaking, I don't think there is enough points left to give this other than a mediocre rating... but I'm still gonna try to gnash my teeth and get through this... I'll probably marathon it just to get it over with...

In the kdrama, they have him being with her because he doesn't want music leaked...instead of just popping off existential to some random girl on the street because of his depressed and angst-y side. The kdrama has him attracted to her voice first, instead of her caring, protective, and innocent side. The Kdrama turned it into a synopsis of its own style and tropes..even having them both have troubled parental lives and her being bullied at school. Heck, dude, in the manga, she's just the grocer's daughter. lol.

WTF IS THIS!?! This isn't a REMAKE! It is a minuscule ADAPTATION based on the Liar and the Lover not worthy of holding the actually TITLE of the manga, and should be, frankly, called something else... I'm at the end of episode 1 and I'm rather pissed... He crashes his plane, she drops her groceries, he doesn't just hum, he SINGS into HER phone, and then RUNS AWAY... no mushroom... not even the **most** IMPORTANT line of the entire START, "DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT??" ...NO, HE RUNS AWAY... K-DRAMA LAND CANNOT LET GO OF ITS OWN TROPES TO SAVE ITS LIFE EVEN WHEN GIVEN A STELLAR PLOT NOT NEEDING ANY REWORKING...

    >>>>IS HE NOT A LIAR??? IS SHE NOT A LOVER???<<<<<< This was the FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT LIE...

...Here's what I fucking suspect is the deal... this is JOY... a KPOP IDOL, and well, let's be honest, she cannot be french kissing her leading male in the first OR even SECOND episode... tvN has to think of a work around... so they make them meet THIS way... LIKE WTF???? SERIOUSLY???

I'm taking this to mean that next episode I shouldn't anticipate her taking that DEEP BREATH to hum/sing his tune by the river while he puts his hand over her mouth and tells her he doesn't like girl's that sing... and then comes the emotions and the kiss.... and the fateful REVEAL later on when she gets scouted and he's unaware... Let's not forget that tvN made his skanky cheating g/f out to be a saint just trying to deal with everything in a man's world... and he's just a douche who only cares about music. LOL! I'm now prepared to not see a kiss at the start for this OTP.... AND AN UTTER DISASTER OF A REMAKE FOR THIS STORY!!!

    ....so pissed.... UGH!!

There are just some major key scenes for me in this that, I think, cannot be rewritten. Aki's depressed setup, atop the skyscraper waiting for the members of Crude Play to arrive, and brooding about having to go party with them. You have to have the right backdrop to understand Aki, or otherwise the whole rest of what happens, honestly, doesn't really make any sense. That brief window of an introduction is essential....

    ...I'm still waiting....

Seriously, I've held off for a LONG ass time and I'm truly going to give it my best to watch it... but then.....
    ....
....within the first minute, yes, only a minute, her **hair** and riding a bike delivering vegatables...WTF?!?! What does this have to do with this story??? This is KDrama trope: the sweet & cheery poor girl who works upteen different part-time jobs and still remains chipper and energetic with a heart pure as gold....BUT, that's not supposed to be THIS girl... This girl is a high school girl who loves music and singing and has her own band and does general teenager stuff and her family is simply lower middle class, not poor, but not rich...

....maybe just maybe I'm too biased and stopping it at 1 minute I made too many assumptions...but the fucking hair-curler still in her hair while she goes out running errands is a big NO right from the start. The character of THIS girl should never act that fucking stupid. She may have a mushroom hair style but she still has STYLE. I mean seriously WTF????? Why South Korea???? Why??? Why do you do this to young females?????

Although the set up for the 2nd leads love rival to appear was absolutely cringe-worthy, what the SML said was very accurate to the situation: "I have more passion..." Sometimes, that's really all us girls want from our man: A single minded passion towards us.

So, all those dumbass fangirls who didn't think Samuel was Korean enough, and kept him out of Wanna One, despite all his talent and thought they were keeping him out and ending his career... LMFAO.... LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES... hahaha.... Now, not only has he solo debuted at 16, but it worked out better being alone because he gets to sing the entirety of his songs, and when he does a collaboration with the sexy noonas he gets to rub up on them and hold their hands without anyone else getting in his way... LOL! He gets center stage no matter what, and the focus is entirely on him...

...and although there were many who came to talk crap, which is so like teenagers nowadays, trying to tear others down and mess with their success while they're usually to lazy to grab some success of their own, it certainly wasn't lost on me that his Sweet Sixteen M/V that was released only 2 days ago already has over 2 million views, and his M Countdown appearance views for both songs from yesterday are about HALF what longstanding KPop Kings of 5 years, and a few 100K views more than any of the other comeback stages from the same episode. I'd say for a 16 year old in KPop land, that's not too freaking bad... good job son, good job.
