I was introduced specifically to Korean dramas in college when my roommate showed me My Sassy Girl the movie and then the unrelated drama Sassy Girl Chun-Hyang. On my own I somehow discovered Boys Over Flowers, SS501 and Big Bang at the same time and the rest is history! I was also already a fan of BoA from high school, although back then I thought she was Japanese because of all her Japanese promotions (I didn't know anything about Korea back then nor could I differentiate between the two languages). I now watch more K-dramas than American shows. Love watching k-dramas as it's a good way to forget about life momentarily, especially during times when things feel rough.
