Daddy Long Legs

I liked this story, and I enjoyed watching it. It's a little slow in parts, and it's a story I feel that you have to pay attention to fully understand what's going on. The synopsis that's given tells you what it's about. The story gives you a twist in the middle, and some might feel they need to rewatch this movie to put two and two together. The animation they give in the beginning is nice, and then as the story progress's you find yourself wondering what's the connection between her Daddy Long Legs and the woman who's house she's living in.

I haven't watched anything with the main actors before, but I have no complaints about the acting.

Music - There's some music in this movie, but not a lot and nothing that's really significant. The only song I remember is "You're Only Lonely" by J.D. Souther

I do wanna rewatch this movie again, because I feel I'd have more of an appreciation for it now that I know what to expect from it.

Overall - I feel this is a movie worth watching. It's not a comedy, but there's some romance, and, of course, drama. I think it's worth taking some time out if you're looking for something to watch read more

Devil Beside You

I enjoyed watching this drama. The story was good, although it took me some time to get over the fact of the step brother/sister relationship. Considering they're not related by blood and are 2 different people, I got over it. Instead I found myself loving them as a couple. Rainie and Mike He have great chemistry! This was the first drama I've seen with both of them together. The side couple, Yuan Yu and Qing Zi were nice to see, and the rest of the guys plus Ahrang were great, too! Plus the parents were funny (:

Acting - Great! Nothing to complain about with any of the characters.

The music was good, I found myself downloading some of the music from the show (:

I have too many shows I wanna watch to rewatch, so i dunno if I will or not.

Overall- I think this show was worth watching (: If you're a fan of Taiwan dramas, and have not seen this one yet, I highly recommend it! It definitely has quite a few romantic scenes, and you'll find yourself rooting for the 2 to be together in the end (: read more

1 Litre of Tears

Wow is all I can say to this incredible story. I watched it all in one day, and it's honestly the saddest drama I've watched to date. I've never cried this hard for any movie or drama until I watched this. The story is powerful and moving, enough that it's so hard to not cry or feel anything. But it's inspiring, the main girl, Aya, how she stays strong for as long as she can, never giving in.

The acting is superb, especially the main characters. They did a terrific job, and it makes me wonder if they had to use eye drops or if their tears were for real.

The music went along with the story, and the main song "Only Human" by K I liked a lot after watching a few episodes. It really fits.

My rewatch value is low, because, like some other reveiwers have stated, this show is very emotional and heartbreaking.

Overall, I think this show is a must watch. Why? It's inspired by a true story, and it's very moving and inspirational, making you wonder about your own place in life. You might not cry 1 Litre of Tears while watching this drama, I didn't, but I still cried a lot, especially in the later episodes. I would say you'd have to be a stone-cold person to not even feel a thing after watching this show. read more

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

To start off...I honestly loved this drama! The story is really unique and original and I fell in love after the first episode. It's really funny, filled with drama, and also heartbreaking in parts. This is the 2nd show I've watched that was written by the Hong Sisters (first being You're Beautiful), and so far I'm liking their style of dramas. Also You're Beautiful fans might enjoy seeing 3 of the characters showing up randomly in this drama haha (: (says so in the cast so it's not a spoiler...haha)

The acting is amazing! I originally watched this story because of Lee Seung Gi (first watched him in Shining Inheritance and loved him there) and his acting is really good in this drama! I loved him as Dae Woong, and there's no denying he's got one amazing smile (haha). This was the first drama I've watched with Shin Min A but I have to say her acting was done really good as well. She does a great job of pulling off learning things for the first time, and there's nothing bad I can say about her character. It's hard not to like her (: Now for the other guy, No Min Woo, it seems most people liked his character better than Dae Woong because of his looks. Personally, I didn't care for his character as much (only because I liked Dae Woong) - his acting was good though. The noona really got on my nerves in the show, but that just means her portrayal of her character was done well.

The Director and Dae Woong's Aunt make up for a lot of the funny parts in the show haha. Everytime they're together you'll find yourself going "Here we go" haha. If you don't like cheesy scenes, you might not like their characters.

The soundtrack has officially become one of my favorites! I love the music, especially Seung Gi's songs and "Fox Rain."

Will I rewatch this series? Not anytime soon (because there's so many dramas I wanna watch!), but I can see myself rewatching this show again down the road, it's become one of my favorites - I absolutely loved it! The only thing I wish is that it were a little longer, but I still found it great!

Overall - Watch it! (: If you're looking for something funny, sad, different with a great soundtrack and actors, this'll definitely be a must watch (: read more

The Blue Flame

I found this movie to be alright. Maybe part of it was me being really tired while watching it, but I didn't get too into it. I thought the story itself wasn't bad, Kushimori's abusive stepfather comes back to live with his family and upsets the atmosphere, so he decides to find a way to get rid of him. The problem I had with the movie was how fast the events seemed took place. It says this movie is supposed to be a romance movie as well, but it's very little. The movie deals more with crime than anything else.

The acting was pretty good, though. Not the best but it wasn't bad. This was the first movie I've watched with Ninomiya Kazunari (from Arashi), and I think he portrayed his character well.

There isn't really any music that goes with this movie, aside from the song they play in the beginning and at the end. All other music isn't memorable.

I dunno if I'll watch this movie again, it's not something I really got into.

Overall, do I think it's worth taking time out to watch? I'd say if you have nothing else to watch, it's not a bad film to kill some time with. Maybe you'll get more into it than I did. read more

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do

I thought this movie started off cute (like the other reviewers). The problem I had with this movie is that it seemed rushed. It seemed that events started to happen quickly, and the last 2O minutes of the movie dropped what might have been a 9 down to a 7 for me. The reason I say this is because it just seemed to happen randomly and the scenes went by quickly, feeling rushed. Aside from that, I think I would've liked this story a lot better as a drama, or maybe even a special, because things would've been explained more and you wouldn't get the feeling that you were missing something as you were watching it.

The Cast did a great job, though. The acting was done really well. Part of the reason I watched this was because of Jang Geun Seok haha, and he didn't disappoint. The other actors did really well, too.

The music was absolutely wonderful haha. I downloaded the soundtrack after watching this movie. I loved all the songs that he sang (:

As for rewatching...I'm not sure if I will rewatch it at the moment. I might, might not.

Overall, do I think it's worth watching? Yes, at least for the music and the acting. Well the story, too, just be prepared for some scenes to seem to come out of nowhere, especially towards the end. read more

Shining Inheritance

I just finished watching this drama a couple hours ago and I have to say it was really really good (: I agree with the other reviews when they say this drama isn't boring and has you on the edge of your seat. It's a roller coaster ride of emotion throughout the whole show. I've never come across a show filled up with so much hate and betrayal. I don't think I've hated a character as much as I did the step mother, who I felt myself not liking more and more as I watched each episode. In the beginning you have Eun Sung who comes back from studying abroad in America and her bag winds up getting switched with Hwan. As the story takes off from there you have these 2 characters continuously running into each other. She and her brother get kicked out by her stepmother, and not long after she loses her brother, Eun-Woo who is autistic. Majority of the show she's looking for him. While trying to make money she finds and starts to take care of this grandmother who's lost her memory. I don't want to say too much more, as I'd be giving away the story. Each episode had me guessing at what would happen next, and of course it leaves you hanging so you have to watch the next episode. This show made me cry, laugh, angry, but happy. Then you have the love triangles. It really is filled with a lot of drama and confliction, but that's what made it so good.

The acting in this show, well like the title it was Brilliant! You can really feel for the characters while watching it. I dunno how to describe it, but the acting was realistic. This was the first show I watched with Lee Seung Ki and Han Hyo Joo, and I plan on watching more dramas with them. And whoever played the step mom should've got an award. I hated her character but her acting was really good. Seung Mi's character... I liked her in the beginning but you feel her falling under pressure as the events continue. Her character was played really well, you could feel how hard she wanted to keep what was hers (or what she felt was hers). Jun Sae's character... I liked him. I felt bad for him later on in the story, he is a good guy. I'm glad at how the story ended, though.

As for the music...I liked it. The music played it's part and I liked a lot of the songs played throughout the show.

Will I rewatch this drama? Probably not anytime soon (too many dramas I wanna watch). Maybe a couple years from now I'll rewatch it. 28 episodes is a lot to get through (almost 3O hours total), but I think that watching this show was worth it.

Overall: Definitely worth watching. The story is really good, indeed like Cinderella in ways (evil step mom, step sister, "Prince Charming"). It makes you think about what money does to people. I'd have to count this as one of my favorites now (: And I loved Lee Seung Ki as Hwan haha, but that's my personal opinion read more

Meteor Garden

Out of the 3 versions of this story, again this was the last one that I got around to watching. The japanese version being my first, will always be my favorite because it's the one that hooked me onto the series to begin with (as well as Arashi / MatsuJun (: ). The Korean version I watched after I read the manga, and although I thought it was a good series by itself, I felt it drifted far off from the manga, and even the main characters seemed to be separate characters. After watching Meteor Garden, I would say I liked this one better than the Korean version.

In the earlier episodes I felt MG did a terrific job on basing it off of the manga. It's expected that there has to be some variation, but most of it, I felt, was right on. As the show progressed, MG started to develop into it's own story. Not to say that it drifted far off, but events were done differently. Through it all, I felt the actors did a good job as the characters. Dao Ming Si's character acted like the original Domyouji, with minor differences. Shan Cai's character was bull headed like the original Tsukushi, hiding her own true feelings even from herself. The rest of F4 was portrayed well.

When I first started watching this show and saw F4 I wasn't sure how I was going to like them. Dao Ming Si and Hua Ze Lei fit Domyouji and Rui well, but I wasn't sure about the other 2. Mei Zuo as Mimasaka even fit, but Xing Men took me a while to get used to. As Nishikado, he looked different. But at the end I found myself liking him as his character. True I liked the japanese F4 better, and even Kim Bum as Nishikado better, but for the Taiwan version he played his part well.

They only had 2 songs in this drama, the opening and the ending. The opening song "Qing Fei Te Yi" (Can't Help Falling In Love With You) they played throughout the drama. It might just be me, but the song didn't get on my nerves.

For a drama that came out in 2OO1, I thought it was really good. You have to keep in mind while watching it that it came out 1O years ago, so of course fashion and technology is going to be different. The cell phones aren't as advanced as they are now. The filming for the show isn't as high quality as it is for new shows. That aside, I think it's a show worth watching. I really think that if I hadn't of seen the Japanese and Korean version I would've liked this drama a lot more. Because this was the last one that I watched, and I'd already read the manga, I found a lot of it predictable. The ending I felt was cute. I'm not sure if I'll watch the 2nd season yet, I'm still debating.

Ohh another thing I liked about this drama was how it included characters such as QingHe (Kazuya in the manga) who were eliminated in the other dramas. read more

Secret

I loved this movie! As soon as I got done watching it I downloaded the soundtrack! I loved all the piano music in the film. I thought the story was really good. I had heard it was a sad movie, but I was surprised at the turn of events, I hadn't expected it to turn out the way it did. I can't really express my thoughts about the film that way without spoiling anything. But I will say this movie is probably the best asian movie I've seen so far (although I've only seen a handful at the moment -_-). The music was wonderful, the characters/actors were great and I can honestly say I'll probably watch it again! Like the previous review, I did feel it started off a little slow in the beginning, but once it starts picking up you can't stop watching it. Especially towards the end! Definitely a must watch!! read more

Sand Chronicle

I only gave this movie a 7 because I didn't get into it as much as I'd of liked. I originally read the manga, and this movie left a lot out, although it managed to keep the important scenes. I do not think this is a bad movie, though. I do want to watch the drama, as it's 6O episodes and should make up for what was left out of the movie (although the drama isn't listed on here for some reason). There wasn't any music to be noted in this movie. I might watch this movie again later on, but at the moment it stands as just another movie.

If you've never read the manga you'll probably like this movie if you like stories about growing older and stories about life. The movie is a little fast paced, and things seem to happen quickly. Ann and her mother move into a countryside town that was her mother's original hometown. The story is about Ann's life. read more
