Drama Facts

First started watching K-Dramas on Hulu around September or November 2012...the first one I watched was You're Beautiful.  At first I was skeptical (what the heck are all these cheesy daydreams about?  is she talking to statues???)--then BAM! I was hooked.

After that, it was kind of a landslide of drama watching.

Currently watching:

Doom at Your Service: I've been craving a new present-day fantasy drama ever since Tail of the Nine-Tailed, and while this isn't quite as thrilling and leaves a bit to be desired with the somewhat repetitive plot, it's still enjoyable enough for me to watch.  I haven't seen Seo In Guk in a drama since Master's Sun!  I missed him lol.  And I'm pleasantly surprised at Lee Soo Hyuk's acting here and find myself rooting for his character (even though I still sometimes see him as the evil vampire from Scholar Who Walks the Night).  So I guess I'm really watching this more for the acting than the actual storyline.  Eh, whatever keeps me interested I guess.

My Roommate is a Gumiho: I started this not expecting much, but since I love the gumiho myth decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised!  Funny, touching, and sweet, without the dreaded reincarnation/we've actually known each other since we were little tropes that other dramas love to have.  Since I started watching this while waiting for new episodes of Doom at Your Service, I actually became more invested in this one!

It's Okay to Not Be Okay:  All right, I'll confess I actually tried to watch this when it first aired but the main lead's craziness was a bit much for me.  I'm watching it slowly, sometimes partial episodes at a time, whenever it strikes my fancy.  I like both Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji but find myself more invested with other dramas.

Vincenzo: I'm basically just watching this as a Song Joong Ki fan and staying for the side characters, food, and pigeon, whenever it shows up (I'm not that far along yet).  Knowing what happens at the end, and having seen clips of other more violent parts of the drama along the way, I'm not too invested but will keep slowly watching it, at least for now.

Live Up to Your Name: Okay, yes, I am sort-of watching 5 dramas at once.  Am I crazy?  Maybe.  I saw a clip of this one on YouTube and wanted to know what happened next, so here I am, about 6 episodes in at this point.  The plot reminds be a bit of Queen In Hyun's Man, but with doctors.  And though I'm kind of already aware of how the plot goes, I'll be interested to see how it gets there.

MDL Stuff
I'm a language lover with a weakness for happily ever afters.  Not only do I get to "practice" my listening ability by watching dramas, but they also allow me to escape the harshness of the real world for a while - though sometimes with more cheesiness than I'd prefer.  Ah well, a small price to pay!

Other Facts
I end up drinking lots of tea while watching dramas, and green tea is one of my favorites, hence my name.  :)
I get songs stuck easily in my head, so listening to songs in different languages helps alleviate that a bit since I usually can't pick out the words immediately.  Russian, Italian, Japanese, Swedish, German, French, Korean,  Vietnamese, and Mandarin are some languages I'm really interested in, in no particular order.  I speak very limited Spanish and French (and usually end up accidentally mixing them together), and I'm actively learning Korean.
A side effect of watching dramas is that I've become a bit of a kpop fan - Big Bang, SHINee, BTS, Blackpink, MonstaX, Everglow, etc.
Hayao Miyazaki's movies are amazing!  Howl's Moving Castle is probably my favorite.
