A drama about the rise and fall of nations, the rise and fall of men. A story that teaches you that everything has its place in this world and if someone tries to change it will not survive. Characters that show you that people never realize what cruelties they are truly capable of, until they hit the very bottom. I liked this drama hadn't bad characters. You can't judge a mother who makes the impossible, possible. You can't judge a son born to be king who fights for the throne when some else tries to take it from him. A king has the duty to protect his people but he will be forever lonely and will always cry in the dark where no one can see him. But still this possition is so desired. Love? Can it be stronger than the last wish of your father, the king? Can it be stronger than the duty of conquer the world? Well watch it if you want the answer. And I can't stop myself from quoting a lovely declaration: "Wherever you will be, whoever you will be with, Yeohwa you will be forever my wife." My favorite characters from this drama are: prince Yeochan, king Sayu and princess Yeohwa. I liked every detail of this drama: the soundtrack that fits perfectly in every circumstance, the no-words-wasted dialogue, the costumes, the weaponry, that interesting sword like a tree, the colors, the beautiful places. Maybe this drama won't gain you heart from the start but once again I will say that historical dramas are not for everyone, but for the ones who can see beyond appearances.
