"Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore, so do our minutes hasten to their end." -- Shakespeare

"How life is strange and changeful, and the crystal is in the steel at the point of fracture, and the toad bears a jewel in its forehead, and the meaning of moments passes like the breeze that scarcely ruffles the leaf of the willow."

ROBERT PENN WARREN, All the King's Men

I have no idea what to rate Nine: Nine Times Travel.  It was an amazing experience to watch this drama. I loved it. But...the last episode I thought was a filler, of all darn good fillers.  The only important part to me was the very last minutes. But all that they show in the beginning and middle was a bit too much for my taste.
So do I rate a 9 or an 8? T.T I'll be debating until next year. Meanwhile it's a 9.

I started a drama challenge! I will be watching dramas on my friend's top 5 list. Considering how very different our taste in drama is this will be a true challenge for me. Hope it all ends well!

You think NG was a flop? Hahaha. If Maru will ever die, I;ll give it a 7, if Jae Hee will die, 10! LOL

    Aw. Thanks!

Yep, totally right. KoD had a great start. My first time seeing a drama with a plot like that. Now I'm wondering if those stuffs really happen.
  • educto1 Nov 12, 2012

LOL, how was it? Isn't it you are not a fan of Lee Min Ho as well? lol (ugh, I removed City Hunter from my top faves and replaced it with Pride. No regrets)

"BTW my profile misses your avi and handle ^^"
-I didn't get this. Well, thanks anyway. haha

Nice Guy? well I believe that's two things since it's two words. lol.. hmm, it's super heavy and guess what I wanna add Jae Hee (Nice Guy's well, villain for me) on my avi, so they could be 4 lol

Drama Challenge? Where can I find that?

BTW, bogoshipeo! ^^ You're Laura/NinaJade too on fb right? haha

and oh btw, have you seen A Werewolf Boy?

Sorry dear, cannot do. You can't expect me to watch the whole thing only to write a half apologetic review. They will pay for my suffering, lol. ;)
  • amrita828 Nov 4, 2012
Oh, I have a very simple reason: I WANT to write the most outrageous review ever. To do so, I need to at least complete it. A mixture of fast forwarding and comment reading does the trick.
When a drama grates on my nerves to this point, the desire to bash it surpasses the torture.
So my friend don't worry: I haven't crossed to the dark side, mine is a lucid revenge plot. LOL ;)

Literary influences are crucial to a good writing. All great writers lived and worked on the influence of at least a few writers before them, so I wouldn't be afraid of it, my friend. :)
    Good work!

Hahaha, I'm fine with the double date: any time. ;)
You reminded me of something interesting I read once about the Bronte Sisters. Due to their popularity after writing Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, Emily and Charlotte were asked what they thought about Jane Austen. Emily replied that there can't be any romance when the characters are too funny. Austen's characters and their interaction where always deluted with too much irony, hence defeating the object of passion and the essence of love, which in their opinion went through "tempests and ardent feelings".
I think Austen was a little too rational for what was later called "romantic". It fits me perfectly, I suppose, as much as the tempests fit you. :)
Both positions have their value, and most of all can live together in perfect harmony, as we are proof of. :D

Yes, I'm leaving on November 5th and be back by the end of the month. We are going to France first and the Nederlands afterwards: the weather is going to suck for sure, but we are visiting good friends so I expect it to be a great holiday. :D
I have dropped all those dramas in a day because I wanted to "tidy up" my list. I suppose I'll drop more, but for now it suffice to have gotten rid of the most blatant melodramas. Yes, you read me right, they are not my cup of tea. It seem to me, seen one I have seen them all. Even the setting is always the same, some corporate business everyone wants to thrust their claws into.
And I think I see the type of man you favour (in a drama at least): the dark, strong one, ready to sacrifice his wellbeing for the people he loves, but who doesn't show it, hence is mistaken for heartless. :)
The good thing is: we will never be rivals in love, haha!! ;):D

Thank you for understanding, Twinnie. ;)
I am going to watch both! But not right now: I haven't got the time to start any new drama now; besides, I've found out I prefer to marathon through completed dramas - or almost - than watching 2 episodes a week of an airing one. Unless I fall head over heels with a story and its characters, the wait kills all the pleasure, just as much as it enhances it when I love it.
But Japanese dramas usually restore my good mood, so you can be sure I'll be of the party. ;)

    My dearest,
don't hate me too much, but I'm dropping Nice Guy with a huge sigh of relief. It irritates me so much I fear if I go on watching, I'll get a rash. I will stare at Joong Ki's pictures and hope to see him again in something which suits my taste a little more.
Sorry my friend. To be very, very honest, I have endured until episode 14 only because of you.

    My dear Twinny,
Escher is always the best solution when I feel a little confused, or in doubt. His idea that reality only depends on perception puts things back in perspective. ;)
This said, I can only wish you to get rid of the "writer cramp", hehe.
By the by, I will be on a holiday almost the whole month of November, like last year. Not that I won't have access to a computer, but for someone who works with it, it's nice to have a respite from the machine, now and then. :D
    Hug you back, my friend!

Omg! Never Forever totally went under my radar! Vera Farmiga is my favourite Hollywood actress and I've pretty much seen everything she's in ... or so I thought! Now that I know Ha Jeong Woo is also in it, I'm so gonna hunt this movie down. Thanks for the rec! :)

I've been meaning to edit my description to be more specific about what's satisfying for me. Haven't gotten round to it yet! lol I'd say 3-iron's ending was satisfying. A happy ending would be if the lead actor and actress end up happily together at the end of the movie.

I'm an absolute film buff. In fact, film making is my profession so I love all types of films. It all just depends on my mood and what's going on in my life. If all's relatively well, I can watch tons of sad movies and not be affected. But if I'm having a rough day, I'd rather not see movies that will make me melancholic. Movies for me are a great escape!
