All the dramas that I've dropped are due to a) annoying/ludicrous storyline/characters, b) couldn't peak my interest or c) they are just plain bad/boring.

Sometimes I do end up finishing dramas that I don't like. It depends on my mood.

I find most American dramas kind of soulless and boring. I did really like Rooftop Prince.
It was very corny but I loved it. There were a few things that could have been better.
For instance even though I really liked the lead actress I could tell that she wasn't attracted to the lead actor. Also I wished they had developed the characters of the 3 guards more. I thought the episode were the lead actress was stuck in the refrigeration things was kind of boring. But I really enjoyed watching the lead couple. They were both adorable.
I was so excited about Bridal Mask and I am on episode 11 and not really enjoying it anymore. The brother who was killed was such an incredible character and he leaves a big hole in the drama for me. Also I thought the Korean woman from Japan would be a lot more interesting. Also the teacher turning gestapo is for me kind of stupid. Also they .....

Hi Starlitelet, I don't know what NA stands for. Is it a city in Vietnam? I have seen pictures of Vietnam and it looks incredibly beautiful. What is it like growing up and living in Vietnam?

I agree the Korean drama's characters have a lot more depth and are generally a lot more interesting. Korean dramas are also a lot more fun.

I thought the ending of Princess's Man was very good. His going blind was I suppose the only way that he would have felt it okay to stop seeking revenge. Also he did kill quite a few innocent bystanders (with this I mean the guards) with out any thought as to their families etc.. So there had to be some karmic outcome there. I suppose Prince SuYang will get his karma in the next life. It was wonderful to see them happy at the end riding on the horse. It really is the best drama I have ever seen. Thank you again so much.

even after the end of episode 12 I don't have any hope left for Big. Alas, I will still watch the last 4 episodes just to get my Gong Yoo fix :)

maybe, by some miracle, the last episodes will be much better... but i'm doubtful

I translate romance novels, from the average Harlequin to more complex (and gripping) historical or medical romances.
Basically, I'm immersed day and night in hot glances and shivers down (and up) the spine. As if I didn't have enough, I frolick with romantic dramas in my free time. :P This is probably why I'm a lot more punctilious towards a romantic plot than I am about anything else.
Some of the most celebrated rom-com dramas here seem to have derived their plot and mundane lines to a class B harlequin (actually, some harlequins are a lot better).

The Bridal Mask will be my autumn pleasure - or so I hope.
I'll wait for your review! :D

Always glad to make you smile! ;)
I'm not watching much, really. I told my editor I will be working the whole summer and she was very happy, because most translators go on a holiday now and she feared nobody would translate her new medical novel. :P So when I have free time I'd rather go out or swimming than sit in front of my pc... again. ;)
However, I manage to watch 2 episodes of I do I do each week (I actually like it a lot) and en episode now and then of Kagi No Kakatta Heya, which is perfect for this period because it's episodic.
How about you? How are you?
Watching The Bride Mask I suppose? :D

Star, did you really just criticize the mightly hong sisters? Did you truly suggest people rate a drama for its script and not for the sporadic kiss?
Ah, my friend, thou shall suffer the divine hongs wrath! All your food will turn into spicy ramen, your tongue will be tied and only be able to say "Omo!" and, last but not least, you'll be condemned to re-watch, recap and review every single episode of every drama written by the heavenly sisters since the beginning of time.
The drama fangirl gods have thus spoken.

Once I finish Princess's Man I will get back to Bridal Mask. I am completely into that now and on ep. 20. So now of course I want to watch some of his other dramas. haha.
You were right about Se Ryung. Great character and great actress.
That must be an interesting experience to watch the drama before it is subbed. As then it is a more purely visual experience. hmmmm.

The reason I like I do I do is that I like the acting by the three leads and the father. Even the bad girl and the CEO's wife are really good to watch. Also it is more relaxing for me to have something to watch sometimes were I don't feel so tense because someone is going to die or something like that. Rooftop Prince was like that too because the situations kept being resolved as it went along. I get too tense sometimes with too much conflict. haha. Though of course I will watch it if it's good.

It seems to me that in most of the K dramas when someone is in love they are willing to risk everything. I used to be like that. It didn't work out to well. Hahahaha. An astrologer told me once that I need to be more practical. hahaha.

I couldn't get into Gentleman's Dignity. I didn't like the acting. The story line looked really interesting and good so I was really disappointed. I think I stopped at ep. 3.

.....korean actors. I love how koreans are more self effacing in their humour and passionate about things. I really think I was brought up in the wrong culture. I am a weird mixture. I was born in the US but lived in 4-5 countries by the time I was 5 years old and then kept moving. Mostly Germany, Iran, Ireland and England. I live in the US again now. How about you? Where are you from? :-)

I agree about the her friend in I do I do. She seemed a bit better in the last episode but before that I was wondering why she was considered a best friend!

Starlitelet I want to thank you so much for turning me on to Princess's Man. I don't know if I would have ever watched that. It is the best drama I have ever watched in my life. The story is just incredible. The acting is also some of the best I have ever seen by all the characters. Now of course I am in love with Park Shi Hoo. Thankfully I have watched enough Korean dramas now to know that there are so many gorgeous korean male actors that I do not have to get hung up on one in particular. Haha. I have never been been attracted to actors usually until I started watching K dramas. Haha. I think it is because most white male actors are trying to be too cool. There is such a sweetness and and depth to a lot of the ....
