Make sure you have a box of tissues with you when you decide to watch this movie. I've seen a lot of sad movies, but this one is definitely one of the saddest movies I've ever seen. *this review has spoilers* Story: I thought that this was a pretty unique spin of the terminal disease story. Most of the ones that I can think of involve having the characters actually know and love each other for a decent amount of time before they find out one of them is ill. The two main characters in this film kind of know each other, but they are not by any means friends; at least not at first. This might sound crazy, but I love the idea of falling in love with someone without even knowing what they look like. So I liked how they formed a romance through emails. Other than those two aspects of the plot the story was pretty basic and predictable. No unexpected developments or anything like that. Even though I knew what was coming I still cried like a baby for the last 30 minutes of the movie. What made the movie so much more heartbreaking was that he never even got to really know that it was her that he was talking to, and when he found it it was already too late. Acting: I'll be honest, the acting was pretty weak, especially the actor for the male main character. There were a lot of scenes where the acting was so bad I could barely even stand to watch it. Surprisingly enough, that didn't make me stop watching. Even though he isn't that great of an actor, he did pull off some scenes really well, especially at the end. The main girl is a little bit better, but she had some cringe worth scenes too. Music: I can't remember any of the music. Rewatch Value: The thing about movies and dramas that have to deal with people getting incurable diseases is that they all pretty much end the same and that there isn't really much rewatch value to them. I don't see myself rewatching this. Overall: This movie was ok. If it wasn't for the last 30 minutes I probably would of given it a 4/10, but since those last minutes were so good, I decided to bump up my rating. It's so heartbreaking and tragic, but it is also beautiful and touching.
