Remember back in 2012 how there was a sudden influx of dramas about time travel? After 2012 I was pretty sick of the time travel theme, but I decided to give this drama a shot since it was released way before 2012. I figured it had to be a little different and possibly better. While watching it, it kept reminding me a little of Death Note. It has a very similar dark and foreboding atmosphere. There were times when the drama was a little slow, but overall I really liked it and I thought it was really well thought out. Story: The overall concept of this show isn't that original. At first I thought it would just be the one main character reliving his life over and over again, but with the introduction of other characters and the twists in the series it gets much more interesting. The plot does slow down a lot about half way through. There were lots of times when absolutely noting important would happen until the very last few minutes of the episode. This did keep me watching, but it also got really annoying and boring. SPOILER WARNING. Another complaint I have is who the main character ended up with. He spent 20 years with this one girl, and in the end he doesn't end up with her and instead chose his childhood friend who had to be one the the most annoying and useless love interests I'd seen in a long time. I knew this was going to happen, but it still really upset me. SPOILER ENDS HERE. Overall I really liked the story and I loved the mystery about why and how they were going back in time over and over again. Acting: No complaints about the acting. Everyone did a pretty good job. There were a few characters that I found to be annoying, but that's the script's fault and not the actors' faults. Music: I hated the music they played throughout the episodes. It was just not a nice sound. I think a couple of the tracks were played backwards, which is a great idea since the whole show is about going backwards in time, but the tracks were repeated so many times that they got extremely annoying. I did really like the ending song played during the credits. I tried to find a full version of it online, but I had no luck. Rewatch value: I don't plan on ever rewatching this drama. I liked it a lot but it's just not a show I see myself rewatching. Overall: This is a great drama especially for people that like the time travel theme and even for those that don't. Give it a try!
