This was a very strange movie, but it was strange in a good way. I had no idea what I was getting into when I decided to watch it and it ended up being a really sad movie, but I don't regret watching it at all. This is the type of movie that you end up remembering because of it's uniqueness and it's great storytelling. Story: The story combines three separate stories. Just as a word of warning: they are all really sad. There are a lot of doll elements and symbolism in this film, which gives it a very surreal atomphere. At first I was a little confused by it because the way some of the actors acted were really stiff in some scenes, but I soon realized that their acting was supposed to be mimicking the dolls you see in Japanese doll theater. There was also not a whole lot of talking in this film. Things are shown to you rather than explained through long exposition. I personally really liked this, but I could see how it may bother some people and that some may find it boring. Acting: All of the actor/actresses were really good. The only person I knew of beforehand that stared in the movie was Kanno Miho, who did a fantastic job. Music: The music has a very early 2000 vibe to it that fits really well with the surreal atmosphere. Rewatch value: This was a great movie, but I don't see myself rewatching it. At least not anytime soon. Overall: This is a very underrated movie with a combination of unique stories, great actors/actresses, beautiful scenery, and great atmosphere. I would really recommend it to anyone that's craving something different.
