I am usually a sucker for tear jerkers as long as the plot is awesome, romantic and NOT cliche -even if the ending is awful. However, due to the emotionally exhausting depression period that usually ensues, I have decided to watch drama/movies with happy endings only - well, at least try to. So, sad events may happen HOWEVER, not to the characters I adore or to the ending in general.

Recommendations are highly appreciated!

By the way, my love for Asian films started out with Lee Byung Hun. There's just a magnetism to him that totally sucks me in. And he's not just a pretty face, but an amazing talent too. I love him, I love him, I love him. I was never really attracted to Asian men before I started watching his films! Now I can't get enough of them! haha

No, no, no, don't worry about spoiling! If a show has a really sad ending where one of the beloved lead characters die or is going to die I want to know about it beforehand! I hate being surprised with an unexpected death or ultimate demise of a character I'll grow to love. This happened to me with Padam Padam which stars our boy Jung Woo-sung and man was I down for a couple of days. Had I known going in I don't think I would have been so affected because I would have had time to mentally brace myself but everything came as a shock. So please tell me! :) These days I will not watch a drama (with movies I'm a tad more flexible, but not by much! :) until I know the ending. I'm far too busy to be burdened with the blues after I've dedicated 20+ hrs of my life to a character who ends up getting killed off. I don't know what some of these writers/directors are thinking! lol

I so agree with you about endings! Before I really got into Asian cinema I didn't mind sad endings because for every film with a sad ending you could easily find another with a happy or satisfying ending. However, since I got onto the Asia wave pretty much every film I've seen so far has had really sad, gut-wrenching endings that would haunt me for days. I've gotten many a rude awakening each time I'd blindly jump into watching a film or drama and be taken on a miserable emotional roller coaster ride. Characters I invest so much in and grow to love are killed off in the most dreadful of ways. Horrible. I now try to avoid those dramas and films like the plague!

On a lighter note, it also seem we share similar taste in men because I absolutely love Jung Woo-sung and Henney Daniel! :)
