First I have to admit I just watched it because I love Luo Zhixiang and Yang Chenglin! They are still the best drama-couple!

So this short drama seems to be produced by Tourism Australia? that means they show a lot of nice views and everyone is really nice. I guess they want to attract some more asian tourists? haha :D Also there is a lot of other companies funding, like lays chips, so it's like a commercial movie.^^°
beside that fact the story is nice with lots of emotions, also a lot to laugh about and some surprises. even if it's short I think it's a good package.
I really loved Show's and Rainie's acting. They really fit together and somehow this time they seemed more mature to me.(but that's maybe because 'Hi my sweetheart' is just too crazy and childish at times.)
The title song 'Wang jian Wang' is very catchy and I already loved it after the first episode. The music video is so cute and funny!
Overall it's a great drama and good to rewatch because it's so short. :D
Only thing is, I don't know if you can watch it with subs. I watched it in chinese on showluo official youtube channel. maybe there is also people uploading subbed videos in youtube?

okay the subs didn't come out for episode 10, but even though my japanese is not good, i was able to get most of it..so i am going to write my review now!^^

first of all i really liked the idea of an idol playing himself. the story didn't have any big suprises, but it had a nice flow of events and was very enjoyable. it's interesting to see the behind the scenes life of a star and lets face it: we all want to see them being humans, just like you an me, sometimes.;)
i have liked nishikido ryo for a while, but still i was surprised by his acting: i think he is a truly great actor! i loved the kids, especially mei-chan, her character was played really well. the whole family atmosphere was very nice, crazy and fun, like they were a real family.

what i was missing was:
the love-story between nishikido and haru-chan. i mean, okay it was set up that they were already in love, then married and it showed all the problems that come with being in a family. but maybe a few more hugs or a little kiss on the cheek sometimes would have been nice. i really loved the relationship of nishikido and the kids. but they got more love and body contact from him than their own mom! poor haru-chan^^° yeah so basically missing the feelings between the main couple. but okay, i get it.. it's more a family drama and not a romantic love story.

also i think they could have had a little bit more of the guest star thing. it was fun and it would have been a nice fan-service!also the rest of kanjani8 should have at least met nishikido's family.
even though i am not a big fan of kanjani8 maybe they could have showed more of them being in a concert or.. dunno.. doing fun stuff together. but i guess there is enough of that in japanese tv already.^^°

the music was mostly from kanjani8 of course and went very well with the story.
i wouldn't rewatch it... unless i am missing my family and want to see another family having fun...or i want to see nishikido ryo's face :P

all in all it was a nice family drama with funny and touching moments. i'll recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from overly emotional love stories and of course to fans of nishikido ryo!;D

I would say this is a typical Japanese family drama.

Raising awareness on social issues: check!
Cute kids: check!
Implied love story: check!
...etc.

I didn't read the manga, so I cannot say much about if the story is the same. I think it's a quite interesting insight into Japanese society and I loved the story for watching Momoko's interaction with the kids and their parents.
I had the feeling that most of the characters were a bit bland and stiff, they seemed to be most passionate when talking about work/ helping the families, not so much about their personal lives. In my opinion the acting of the child actors outshined all of the adults! There are some amazing talents!

I was not very satisfied with the ending, as I feel there would have been more time needed to resolve Momoko's issues with her family. Also don't watch this for romance, that is not the main point here! I think this drama is about family and what good parenting is about.

Overall a nice entertaining drama with not too much drama and a lot of cute kids^_^

Finally I saw this movie!

Surprisingly this movie was a very quiet one. After reading it's a movie about a rock band, I expected it to be more ..loud..I guess? But don't worry in the end you'll still get to hear some music!

Those four girls who are very different and don't seem like they would fit together, in the end make up a really good team. Each of them has their own struggles and each of them has a lovely personality. You get to discover more and more about them as they try to make their performance a perfect one, each of them working hard on their own. Still I'd say the story is more about getting together than accomplishing that one goal. Each of the girls were acting their part very well, especially our fun and quirky Korean girl, and even some of the supporting roles were adorkable.

I would say it's a slice of life themed movie, most of the time you feel like an observer to what's going on in this part of their life. It gets a little weird sometimes, but I love that Japanese weirdness. There are some scenes that just cracked me up, while others would probably think: What the heck is going on here? I just love weird stories about weird people. ^^

When should you watch the movie? On a cold and rainy afternoon, when you have nothing else to do, if you want something fun and sweet without a lot of drama, if you like that slice of life stuff, if you like weird people like I do :D

I enjoyed it, but the film can drag on a little, so I'd probably not rewatch it.

So there's only one thing left to say: LINDA LINDA! LINDA LINDA LINDAAAA ~

This is my first review, so i hope it will be helpful.

Tian xia wu zei-Exciting and heartwarming!
the Story is a kind of road trip movie that changes the lives of the main characters.
on the one hand you have the couple that travels around china, who use their intelligence and skill to steal and trick anyone and everywhere they can. they are played by Andy Lau, one of the greatest chinese actors, and Rene Liu. I really like the development of their love-story through the movie. the emotions are played out very well.

on the other hand you have this really naive country-guy, Sha gen, played by Wang Baoqian, who is returning home from the big city after years of working with all his savings to find himself a wife. he is so innocent and truthful that you want to hit him for being so stupid, but you can't help but like him a lot.

the plot is mainly happening on the train all of them are travelling together. While the woman is slowly developing a friendship with Sha gen, there is another group of thieves who is trying to steal the money from him. so they have to protect him against those attacks. it always makes you wonder: will they be able to protect him or will they steal the money themselves in the end?

what i really like about the movie is that you can see many different places in china and learn about chinese culture. it shows a lot of things that are in my opinion typical about china.
even though there is some martial art action scenes, when the thieves are batteling, it's not too exaggerated. you still get the feeling that everything is real and that life could be happening like this in china. i think that's mostly due to the main characters. the story makes you feel there is something good in everyone and although the story is a little sad, after watching this movie I had a feeling of relief. like.. everything is good now the way it is. it's hard to explain for me.:D

but anyways if you want to learn about china and like movies that keep you thinking afterwards, i'll recommend you to watch this.
and if you like Andy Lau you MUST watch this!;P

well at first I have to say that this was totally not what I expected. I still enjoyed watching this drama. the title fits in many aspects, but it is not really about two people pretending to be a couple to hook up others.
I would say this drama is about love between family and friends, and also tragic history between the characters. the story is quite sad, although it starts out fun. the ending was a little quick for me. on the one hand I didn't even take that much interest anymore, but on the other hand some things were dissolved too fast. there was so much tension between the characters and it was suddenly gone, like someone let the air out of a balloon. and it's one of those stories that makes you feel life is unfair to the good people.
the main actors were really great though!all the character's feelings were portrayed very well. I could sympathize with them and understand their grief and why they were doing things. the music was good and will be stuck in my head for quite some time.
I wouldn't rewatch it, because I hardly rewatch any drama. there are so many new right?!;) and it's too sad for me, I don't like sad.-_- also there seemed to be a problem with the rest of the episodes being uploaded and subbed. even though I understand Chinese and don't need subs it was hard for me to find the last 3 episodes.
so basically I am recommending this to people who like to watch a melodrama, that's not as sad and dramatic as others. if you like to sympathize with the 'bad' people Shi Yinan did a great job. and if you like Dylan Kuo, you should watch it. he is very different from the drama I saw him in before.
do not watch this if you are looking for a funny romantic comedy with the typical couple 'first hate then turn to love'-relationship. it's not!

Lovely story about self-love and friendship

I started watching this drama cause a friend of mine said the female lead Haru-chan reminded him of me.
After watching I can tell where he's coming from, but I can assure you I am quite different from her.

Enough about personal matters. :D This is a good in between watch if you need something lighthearted and maybe want to learn some nice receipes for Japanese bento. But most importantly this is a story about self-love and accepting other lifestyles aswell as accepting oneself.

Despite the typical Japanese overacting "Oishiiii" and the short episodes (about 20 min. long) this drama manages to make you feel the actions of and relationships between the characters are portrayed in an authentic way. I am always amazed at how quick some Japanese drama suck you right into the story and give you a warm fuzzy family vibe.

As their friendship progresses, and Haru and Ao learn more about each other, they also help each other to love themselves more. While both of them feel pressure of how their way of living differs from what's "normal", they constantly reassure each other that they are okay the way they are. I would tag the content LGBTQ+ although the focus isn't put on this issue too much.

Since this is a short drama I won't go more into detail, I just want to tell you the final message:

"Any colour is fine as long as we are living together happily. It's okay that there are many colours. That makes it more exciting somehow."

A blast from the past~

I've always wanted to watch this drama, because I remember once reading about the manga. Although I never read the actual manga I think it is still visible in the drama: the comedy, the over the top acting, the strange characters such as the section chief, who's always looking for someone to play Shogi with him.

Every episode revolves around one case where we can see the characters develop and learn about the supporting characters. I wouldn't call the acting superb, but that somehow makes them feel more real to me on the contrary. The two main leads are simply charming and their interaction with each other and the people around them is really funny. I wish those girls were my friends!
The action was also great, because they get to show their fighting skills, but you see that they're still vulnurable and get injuries like any other human.

For me it was just a nice feeling to watch an old show with some actors I already know and also find new ones, whose work I might check out now. I gave this a high rewatch value, because it's only 9 episodes and an easygoing storyline that you can pick up anytime between. I recommend to not watch this in one go, but rather if you need some relief from a story full of suspense and drama.

Police officers keep fighting for our justice~! You're way cooler than Sailormoon! haha

this movie was soo much fun to watch! it made me want to go to okinawa for a nice vacation at hotel hibiscus.

it's a light and entertaining film about s not so normal family and the main focus is on the character of Mieko, the youngest daughter of the family. she is a wild, crazy, cute, funny and adorable child.
following her you get to experience her summer holidays with her and you can feel okinawan lifestyle.
the movie is separated into different parts, each having a title of their own, showing different episodes of Mieko's summer adventures.

I loved the film so much, because of the main character Mieko, the mostly funny songs(for example the Hotel Hibiscus family song)and the wonderful feeling of going back to childhood. even though I'm not that old yet;D but it's a nice story to remind you that there were many mysteries and adventures when you were a child.

it also reminded me of the anime-movie 'Tonari no Totoro', so if you liked that or are a fan of Ghibli you will like this movie too!

A bunch of Japanese people getting fired up until you are on fire

Huge part of this movie is driven by the Japanese spirit of "we work hard and we can make even fantasy possible".
Even for fantastical projects that cannot exist according to the laws of physics and under the current technological conditions, we will take them so seriously that we'll give it our all, work endless hours of overtime and deprive ourselves of sleep. Yay Nihon ~

This movie is screaming Ganbarimasu!!! in your face so much, that I am disappointed by the end of it they didn't actually build that damn Hangar. (sorry for swearing)

Honestly when I first read the synopsis of this film, I thought this sounds so boring, but at 10 minutes in, I was hooked, I started to take an interest in drilling holes and building dams, how do Japanese people always work their magic?

This definitely is a movie on the more crazy side of Japanese storytelling and I can't help thinking that Asagawa is proper mad, but I've also seen more insane plot. If you are up to that weird Japanese mix of slightly crazy story, educational value and over the top acting, you are in for a treat. It was fun to watch each of the team find their own little aspect they got fascinated with and developing a passion for the project. I enjoyed all of the portrayals and the actors did a great job at making their characters grow on me to the point that I wanted them to succeed.

The movie is also an homage to old Anime and not loosing your childhood dreams. I used to watch Gundam Wings, but I have never heard of Mazinger Z. It seems to have been quite popular, as there are also newer adaptations, and I do believe the age group of fans who grew up with it are well represented in the movie. I think if it would've been about Gundam I might have been more fired up. ^^

So here's to making the impossible possible and finding joy and interesting aspect in seemingly boring tasks!
Let's make our lives more exciting, Ganbarimashoou~

This movie...well how should I say. It's kind of weird, but very fascinating. It's apparently based on an award-winning manga and there is also an anime, which I both haven't seen.

The story is about a family living in Osaka and about the struggles each of the family, especially the children, have to go trough. At the beginning of the movie the father of the family dies and afterwards the story slowly develops and we get to know the characters: the mother, her three sons and the uncle, who moves in with them. There are funny and sad scenes, but the story isn't especially sad or happy, although there are some scenes that are just random. :D For me it was not a perfectly even story, there were still some things I didn't get in the end. It's more like you get to see a glimpse of this family's life and that's what made it feel so real.

In my opinion the acting of the three boys stands out the most. They felt so real and their characters were different and individual. Everyone had to suffer from some kind of complex, but they showed you that they can grow strong in spite of that.
That's why the movie was a great motivation for me. It gives you the message: 'live life the way you want it to and be happy, even though you're sad sometimes'
That's the message I got, but I guess there are other deeper meanings to it. There were also some parts of 'Hamlet' quoted, but I've never read that and in school I really didn't get Shakespeare. Sorry :P

There wasn't that much music to really rate it.(that's why I gave it a 6) Overall I enjoyed the movie and will rewatch it in the future, I might find some new aspects next time.
So if you are looking for a more realistic and heart-warming movie, this would be the right choice!

Is it a zombie movie - is it a political satire?

This movie was loud, weird, bloody, funny, gory, clichée and still a tad bit political.

First of all, despite the low production quality, I quite enjoyed the color scheme and overall design that made me think of 70s movies. The attire especially of the "bad guys" in their funny suits was clearly on purpose to stress the overly comicality of their behaviour.
The music was quite loud, while the dialogues and speech parts were too soft, sometimes almost inaudible.
Well I am not sure if that is the movie's fault or they couldn't get a better version on the streaming website.

While the comedy was quite blunt and the overall story typical for a zombie apocalypse survival plot, I did enjoy the portayal of the characters and think the cast did a pretty good job.

In the end I could still take away a message from this. Knowaing that in Taiwanese parliament the MPs really do end up physically fighting each other, it's bringing light to how ridiculous the political situation is. Seeing it came out in 2020 I also view it as a critical remark on dealing with a pandemic and ways to prevent/treat it.

Wouldn't rewatch and only recommend if you enjoy zombie comedies with a lot of blood.
It's no 'Shaun of the dead' but a good watch for a rainy afternoon/evening.
