I'm an avid drama lover who doesn't know the meaning of limits when it comes to how many dramas I'll watch at one time.
I'm a sucker for jdramas with the avid teacher trying to help a class of troubled students. I honestly can't bring myself to care about the repetitive plots and cheesiness, I can't help but love them. Outside of that I really like crime/mystery themed dramas and dramas that focus on confronting society's corruption.
The thing I put the least amount of scrutiny on, is acting ability. I've found that I much prefer dramas with appealing plots and poor acting to dramas where the actors are amazing but the writing is awful. A good script and good directing can go a long way but not even the most talented of actors can save shows that have trainwrecks for plots.
There are times when I really wish I could have edited and changed a script before it was filmed. Nothing (okay... Not nothing but close to it) angers me more than when a script/plot has so much potential but it's completely ruined by awful writing and over-used tropes. A close second is when a drama is really good for the first half, but then descends into crazyland. SO MUCH WASTED POTENTIAL, IT BURNS!!!!!
