From what I can tell everyone who liked this drama was fully aware that this drama was on crack. I think even the actors knew this drama was on crack. So now that I have given the warning that this drama is crack-crazy, I should now warn you that it is also crack-addictive. It was so crazy it made me wonder if it could be the new Boys Over Flowers as crack dramas go. Well now that I feel like I have mentioned crack so much that people will think I do the drug…I will explain what I mean by that.
In the first two episodes alone there was cute singing, face slapping, sexy times, and a hit and run that turned into a murder. The crazy doesn’t end there though…it just keeps going and going. At one point a character does a work out montage and emerges as…a whole different actor. No wonder no one recognizes him. People die…but then turn out to have faked their death or have been put in a mental institution. It is just a bucket full of delightful craziness.
The very best part of this drama though, is the Emperor. Shin Sung Rok is a remarkable actor. I came to this drama for Jang Na Ra and Choi Jin Hyuk together again. I loved them in Fated to Love You and was so excited to see them both as leads in the same drama. But to be honest, I can understand why some people are not loving them in this drama. Choi Jin Hyuk’s character is as dry as burnt toast. But I really don’t think the actor is to blame for that. However, the Emperor could have easily been a horrible character if it had been played by anyone else. If you were just blindly reading the script, you would hate his character. But because of Shin Sung Rok’s skills and his facial expressions, you come to care for this admittedly horrible murderer. Like he has murdered multiple people and doesn’t even think he was wrong in doing it, and still you find yourself saying…he isn’t THAT bad… To be fair at least two of the people he murdered weren’t entirely his fault, nor was he the only murderer in those cases. And there I go defending the guy! You see what a good job Shin Sung Rok has done to convince me of this?!
In conclusion, I say you should definitely give this drama a try. If you aren’t mildly addicted by episode 2, then this probably isn’t the drama for you. Personally, I watched the first 17 episodes in one sitting before I realized I had spent the whole day watching kdramas. Not that I have any regrets about that. I have loved every second of this crazy crack drama. If you are looking for a serious, revenge drama…this is NOT the drama for you. Go watch City Hunter or maybe The Lookout. This drama is silly even when it is being serious. So come here if you are looking for your next dose of crazy!

Okay, first of all, I want to address the haters out there. They are going to say that Cha Eun Woo is just another Idol who can't act. He is just a pretty face that doesn't deserve the lead roles already. They will also be saying that Im Soo Hyang is too old for the role. I have also read a few people say that the story was "too slow" and the romance "too childish".
I disagree with all of the above statements. Cha Eun Woo has some serious acting chops. I am not really a critic. Honestly, I usually think everyone is great, but all the negative comments he was getting made me pay extra attention. His character was pretty traditional stoic and standoffish. But I thought he played the part well. He would have these minute facial expressions that showed what he was thinking. And his character grew and progressed as the story went on.
Im Soo Hyang did an awesome job for the part. Because of the plastic surgery she was supposed to look more "mature" than her fellow students, so her age wasn't really a problem. The actress was excellent for the part. I can't imagine anyone else doing such a good job portraying someone who looks beautiful but feels ugly.
As for the rest, haters gonna hate.
This was a lovely show about a girl who was bullied all through her childhood for being "ugly". Before entering college, she gets plastic surgery done on her whole face in hopes that she can have a new life. But it turns out, it takes more than a new face to change your life. She has to learn to love herself and to not judge herself or others based on the way they look.
Most importantly, at least for me, the ending was perfect. It had everything I want in a drama ending. And for me that is pretty rare.

I have found it! A drama that makes me happy every single scene. Well, if not happy all the time at least not actively hating any of the character.

The couple was cute. They had an immediate attraction, but they took their time becoming a couple. They never broke up over stupid reasons. They never took the Noble Idiot route. No one got amnesia. There weren’t any evil relatives or exes conspiring to split them apart. Even the second lead was adorable, but not an actual threat at any point. I mean, was this even a K drama?!
Why yes, yes it was. Because there was cute, there was drinking, and there was lots of Koreans speaking Korean. Plus, just because the relationship was a healthy one without plot devises messing them up, that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t drama.
There was lots of drama. Interesting drama that I was invested in. And I loved that it didn’t make me want top throw my phone across the room. (Ahem…Heirs)

This show threw me for a bit of a loop. I thought I knew who the main lead was, and then it turned out to be the least dramatic love triangle I have ever seen. Like, the person she liked was the person she loved. He never got jealous that someone else liked her.
That said, the second lead character got shanked in the plot sense. lol. He was bad and then he was good and then he was cute and then all of a sudden he was a jerk again. It was a plot rollercoaster.
If you like poetry, than you will love all the poetry in this drama. I liked it sometimes, but other times, it was just too much. Just like some of the characters. Joo young Joo young and mr. indecisive were just eyerollingly annoying. Funny sometimes, but mostly just over the top.
In the end, the drama gets a pretty high rating from me because I loved the main couple so much. It entertained me and kept my interest. It had some interesting plot twists. It's not one that I will be rewatching anytime soon though. And I deducted points because the ending felt very ... unfinished.

The drama was very cute. I liked that it had short episodes, and the story was great. I loved watching the kids in the late 90’s because that was kind of my time too. I was a little bit younger than them, but I remember the mad scramble to tape your favorite show on your VHS player.
And as crazy as Shi Won was about H.O.T, that is how I probably would have been about N*Sync had I been 16-18 instead of 10. So, if nothing else, I would have liked it for those reasons. Lord knows how much of a fangirl I have become...just for Korean Idols instead of American ones...and I am not a teenager, so that is kind of embarrassing sometimes.
The lowest score they got was for the significant lack of eye candy. I like some of the actors, but in this show, they did not look good. But you grow to love them as you get to know them. So, all in all, solid B.

I just finished the most adorable mini drama called Click Your Heart. It is a choose your adventure drama. So basically if you have second lead syndrome, you can make sure she ends up with the guy you like. Which is awesome. Also, if you like K-Pop, you will probably like this because they are all idols. And if you don’t like K-pop, you will still like it because all the guys are super cute.

I watched them all because they were each like 15 minutes long. But my favorite was choice B and then B1.

Anyways, it was cute and short and perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to have the girl choose the RIGHT guy! And also perfect for the girls out there who like the annoying guy. Cuz he gets a cool story too. Why not take the time to watch each short episode and then pick your favorite? Best part is, it is available on Netflix too, so it is an easy short one you can recommend to newbies! Put it on the list!

I started this drama because I have a friend who liked it and because it is available on Netflix. I finished this drama because each episode was so short I just couldn’t resist. That’s not to say it was a bad drama. It was just kind of silly. It had some hilarious moments but the guy was only hot when they showed his abs. Which thankfully happened a lot. Lol
But put it this way, this drama doesn’t make my top 20 and I have only watched 25 dramas. So yeah, not THAT great. I wouldn’t recommend it for a newbie unless they have low standards and a short attention span. But if you are looking for a weekend marathon of cuteness, this will do the trick.
If you watched it and loved it and are wondering what my problem is, I recommend watching One Percent Of Something. It is a very similar drama with a better plot line (no unexplained kidnappings) and a cuter guy.

This drama is definitely in my top ten favorite dramas and every actor in it is one that I would definitely want to see again. As a family drama it is really cute and deals with all sorts of issues. Some of my favorites were: sibling rivalry and relationships, married life with kids, living on a low income, menopause, single parents and many more.
Some of the episodes ran a bit long, but each scene was an essential and awesome part of the story. All in all, my grade is B+ or 88/100 or 4 stars.
If you have lots of time on your hands and are looking for a cute family drama then this is definitely one to watch. If you want to know reasons why you might want to prepare for it on a spoiler level, please read my next post.

This was such a lovely story about family and marriage and love. I really didn't know what I was getting into at first, but the characters just grew on you, like a mold on cheese. :) Sometimes they were not at their best, but you could always relate with them. Their choices made sense, but only when you saw it from their point of view. Which is kind of how all relationships work. If you can look at the situation from the other persons POV, then you can make it work.
I don't know if I would rewatch the whole drama because it was kind of silly sometimes, but I would definitely rewatch certain scenes. And I will be keeping an eye on all the actors in it. And Jang Na Ra is just as cute as a button, as usual. That woman just doesn't age, does she? In the drama A Korean Odyssey (Hangul: ???; RR: Hwayugi), they made a joke about how Jang Na Ra must have sold her soul or something like that because how else would she still look so young?

I watched this for two reasons: 1)  Ryu Hwa Young was in Father is Strange and I adored that drama.  2) I watched the KBS awards and I was impressed with the amount of awards the show won.

Anyways, after watching it, I was not disappointed.  It certainly deserved the awards, IMO.  A few things you might want to know before starting the drama.  It is VERY low on romance.  But it still has some, which is nice.  It is about insurance fraud, which can seem a bit boring.  But the show makes up for it by giving you a bunch of characters you will fall in love with.   I think most of us here already know this, but in case you are new to the Korean Drama World then I feel I must tell you the word Hyung is VERY important in this drama.  It means older brother.  It is hard to explain but it is also like a term of endearment.  So, yeah, that is all I will say about that matter.

I watched this on viki.  It is not currently availabe on dramafever.

This is the first drama I have been able to watch all the way through with Eric Mun. Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits. I think he is gorgeous. But I don't usually like melodramas, and this one almost went that route too. But the story kept up the humor too, so I stayed through til the end, and I am so glad I did! The story was wacky and cute. The OST was perfect. I am even listening to it again as I write this.
Most importantly, the reason I watched this drama. The kisses....were...ahmahzing. Like. WHOA. Now I am going to have to rethink all of my favorite K drama kisses. Totally worth the wait on this one guys. The skinship too, was pretty great. I liked this drama a lot and will be reviewing more about it soon on my blog, I am sure.

I started this drama seven months ago, but only just got around to finishing it. I think it is probably better overall if you watch it in one go instead of giving yourself too much time to think about it. Alas, sometimes life just gets in the way.
That said, I still enjoyed the story immensely. It was basically just a quirky idol drama. For a saguek, it wasn't too terribly violent or full of politics. The "bad guy" was absurd. I actually started to feel a bit of piy for him at one point.
The guys were cute, there was some hilarious meta, and the girls were hilarious in their own right. I would be very happy to see any of these idol actors again. :)

Okay, so I feel bad leaving such bad review, but two things happened. One, I have too much time on my hands. And two, I see all these great reviews and I begin to wonder if I watched the same drama.

Okay, okay, that wasn't fair. I actually was really enjoying this drama up until episode 11 or so. And then the first kiss happened. And it was one of those old fashioned kisses with the eyes wide open that Park Shin Hye is famous for. And I was like, whaaa?

I mean up until that point, the two main leads had great chemistry. And I was expecting a kiss that matched that. But no such luck. "Well, maybe it is just because it was the first kiss," I said to myself. Wrong again. The kisses never got better.  They continued to have good chemistry up until the kisses.  Then all chemistry would disappear. Now I have seen many of Park Seo Joon's dramas, so I know he is a good kisser.   I mean in Witch’s Romance his kisses make me swoon.  So what is Kim Ji Won’s problem???  My conclusion is that maybe Park Seo Joon had bad breath.
So, it is possible that I have formed this negative opinion of this show unfairly, but that is all it is, an opinion.  The beginning of the drama wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t that great either. I watched this on viki, but it is also available on dramafever.
