There are only 3 kiss scenes from this drama. Like. WHAT.
XD Okay now we get to the serious part.
Mask has a good message to deliver to the audience and the title therefore has a meaningful effect. The OST is good (one is memorable and the intro is nice as well). The villain is strong in this drama and the ending was heart-warming. The romance parts were very cute and fluffy and funny. However, the cons are too much to handle for this drama (I'm not talking about kiss scenes anyways).

Firstly I have to complain about Minwoo's role in this drama. He plays little to no importance to the story and most of his doings were goofing and playing lovey dovey with his wife. Every time his screentime comes, there would have Eunha/ Jisook involved. His back story is dramatic but not impressive as it doesn't seem to be the focus of Mask. This weak character is overshadowed by Jisook who is somewhat overshadowed by Sukhoon and maybe even Miyeon.

Secondly, the drama kept going back and forth with exorting, murder/ illegal activites/ victimising, intimidating and the circle goes on until the last episode. This is tiring to watch because Sukhoon's character was a really stiff character until the last episode.

Thirdly, the story is made from two pieces. One is romance and one is "fight between evil and and justice". This is by far my first drama that felt so broken like this. The romance part could be omitted entirely without influencing the plot to be honest. So everytime the romance came I would smile for the cute but I cant deny the fact that it was actually filler.

Lastly, the biggest problem. The logicallity and believability. How comes there are two persons with exact same face but not twins? I couldn't take it serious right from episode one.

On a side note, I hate this particular one scene where Minwoo said he had found a person he loved more than his mom. Like... I get it that he couldn't spend much time with his mom but still this line is so cringe worthy I bet Jo Jungho would have cringed like me when he read it out loud.

TL;DR this drama has fine romance parts but not recommended cause the plot is a mess right at the start.

A doctor working outside illegally for the sake of money to cure his sister and a daughter to-be-heir of a top company trapped in a room wherein she can't ever wake up, blocking her from the business world.
The story brings nothing new. The chacracters are put in typical kdrama situations. There is absolutely no doubt I gave a 6 score.
But... why did I give a 9 for the overall? Can a drama with ordinary plot have any chance of getting a higher score?

Yes, it can. And this is like... the second time I truly feel a drama being underrated.
There are chain events that are very well connected throughout. For an uninteresting story, they made it very well executed and I could not help but keep watching and watching until the end. The writer did a great job building plot outlines. I was kept entertained and it was honestly a success for drama to do so to me.

The shining part about this drama, however, is the characters.
There are really a lot of characters and I love it. Every person isn't the same with different names, but has their own traits amd color. That's why I didn't bother seeing so many scenes involving different people but not the main pair.
I love Yong Pal. He is playful and acts like money is everything to him (which is right sometimes), yet a very talented, kind person who always thinks of the positive and justice (and something along the lines), despte of course, his kindness becomes too angelic here and there (and that makes him even more lovable).
And also we have Yeo Jin. She is a very strong woman with great intelligence and a very clear mindset - tit or tat; you own blood, pay with blood. We can't blame her for acting just about the same as her enemies if we get to know about her childhood and her surroundings environment. At first I thought Yong Pal is going to overshadow Yeo Jin (hence the title) but actually, Yeo Jin just shines at much, especially toward the second half of the series. Her inner character complexity and the contrary between hers and Yong Pal's mindset makes their relationship feel realistic.
Both characters have their own flaws and their different persinalities blend well with one another. That's why theri love is special and very convincing as well.
This kind of characterization, I only have seen in this drama. The characters are very strong and deserve their main roles in the drama.
-------

Of course, this drama has many problems aside from its great characters. Mediorce OSTs and BGM (the intro was actually good though), choppy and forced love development, not so special storyline, unanswered questions (for example, the nurse in charge of watching Yeo Jin, there was a picture of her and Yeo Jin yet we never find out what kind of relationship they have). The ending should be longer though. There was only 57 mins for the last ep so why not make it longer for our couple? Ugh.

The chacracters is the main point that make this drama a recommended one to watch. Thats all I have to say

I mean this story is crazy!
Good points:
- Beautiful actors (lol), cute Hae Jin and Boong Do is totally a "player".
- The story isn't too heavy, but not too simple as well.
- The last episode was so sad (OK might be weird to someone who watched it but to me it's sad).
- Perfect chemistry, a lot of romantics.
- Good timing. It's short, 50 mins per ep and only 16 eps.
- It keeps me stay the night (I mean it's really interesting I can stay up till 2:00 AM to watch it through)
Shame points: (Contains a little spoiler)
- How the hell could Boong Do receive the call? (In the last episode) I know it was a melodrama afterall but at least it has to be explained. I don't just accept facts though, I want to know how the facts come.

Overall: I freaking enjoyed it. This is a drama that I can keep my patience.

Bonus comment:
If you haven't watched Rooftop Prince, I recommend you to watch it.
I know I shouldn't compare these two, but the first thing I have to say is both have the same style of storyline but Rooftop Prince is a bit heavier while Queen In Hyun's Man has a more perfect couple.
(Maybe because I didn't like the ending of Rooftop Prince...)

1. STORY
Right at the beginning of the movie, after seeing the main lead actress we might know the ending directly, at least we might know good ending or bad ending.
But I loved watching it, like how they fell for each other, their romantic chemistry, even though the boy couldn't talk!
I cried at the ending.
2. ACTING/ CAST
Bo Young did a great job.
Joong Ki did an excellent job. How could you act that good Joong Ki?
The rest were pretty good too.
3. MUSIC
I loved the song which Soon Yi sang with the guitar. What a beautiful song for a beautiful movie!
4. REWATCH VALUE
I'm not sure about this cause if I rewatch it I'll have to cry again
5. OVERALL (please don't read if you haven't watch it, SPOILERS AHEAD)
Hmmm 9.5 cause I can't stand how she went away, left the boy again, alone... And how long will he have to live on? He didn't turn old or something... but I have to admit it makes the story feel much more painful.

1. STORY
School love thing, with a "Cinderella" and a gorgeous princess. And some more people around who want to have one of the two as their own lover. Romantic? Yes it is, definitely.
But there's some real thing in this unreal drama, business vs girlfriend, will one choose girlfriend instead? And if not, why does he have to choose so?
But it needs more, I don't know, but really, it needs more to reach "good".
2. ACTING/ CAST
Park Shin Hye, Lee Min Ho, Krystal, Kim Woo Bin... Too much for a girl like me.
3. MUSIC
Great! I love the OST
5. REWATCH VALUE
Maybe I'll rewatch it, for some romantic scenes only.
6. OVERALL (SPOILERS - SORRY FOR POSTING SPOILERS)
Why Kim Tan fell for Eun Sang that easy?
Why I feel like Young Do with Eun Sang more than Kim Tan with Eun Sang?
Why in the last episode they don't make it real but just imaginations?
