well how do i say this.....this was one of the best movies i have ever watched. the acting was fantastic. especially the children. at first i was scared to watch this movie because of the graphic scenes i was afraid of. but i dont regret forcing myself to. its a story that should be told. to raise awareness of the atrocities that happen in the world. this movie made me cry so much and i usually dont cry easily. BE WARNED this isnt an easy movie to deal with so if ur faint at heart and love happy endings this movie is not recommended. i mean not much i can say since the other reviews pretty much said it all but a very sad, emotional, and life changing movie. read more

Ping Pong

As the title suggests, most of this movie they're just playing ping-pong / table tennis, but it's the bits in between that made me watch and like this movie.
It is all about friendship and passing obstacles to fulfill one's dreams.
I think the acting was really good and I can't say much about the table tennis parts, but it looked quite well-done, too. The music was there, but not really that important.
Not only the main, but also the supporting characters were really likeable and well played.
You could call this a slow movie, but it's good nonetheless and full of emotions. :)

(By the way: Watch it and see what difference a hair cut can make to a person. It's amazing.)

For me I found the movie really good. Before people start arguing what I found so good about it. Let me explain. It was the plot line and the way the various games was played [the scissors paper stone and then the E card]. The actings were not that bad but it was not what I would expect of a character like Kaiji. Provided I did not watch the anime or read the manga before watching the movie, I am reviewing it based on my opinion of the movie alone.

For a character like Kaiji I would have expected a more laid back kind of a character. I noticed in the movie that the actor [Tatsuya Fujiwara,Death Note's Light]had weird facial expressions at various scenes that were supposed to be pretty emotional. So I would say the emotional part of the movie was pretty under-developed due to the lack of expressiveness. Thus, I would not reccommend it for people who like everything to be packed full in a movie. The emotions and action.

However, despite the mediocre acting, the actions were pretty good. I liked them. And I am not a person who is easy to please. The gameplay was very brilliant and interesting to watch. The part where they show about forced labour could have been more developed in my opinion. However, it fit well with the movie.

In conclusion, I would recommend this movie for those who do not mind a little bit of mediocre acting and like to watch interesting mind blowing gameplays. read more

I've been searching for just a word...a word not 2 words to sum up this movie, but I have not been able to come across any. Just to let you know, it's beyond words....... It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not at all, you will have to watch it, before you can understand what I mean.

Sunny merges the 70's with the 21st century PERFECTLY, the blend was flawless. Sunny is all about the reunion of 7 best friends. They were friends in high school, but an accident happened, which led them to disband, but they promised to meet each other in the nearest future.

I couldn't hold back my tears while watching this. It's a wonderful movie. It actually got me thinking of how it would look like for me to meet my friends from playgroup or to meet my current friends 25 years later.

The OST is the DAEBAK. read more

So I had seen a scene from this movie in a drama collab on youtube, and had desperately wanted to watch it, however I couldn't find the name of it anywhere. Unlike many of the other people I know who have watched this movie, instead of the bleached hair being a turn off for the movie, it only made me want to watch it more, so not knowing the name was horrible. Then I found a different scene of the movie in a different youtube video with the name written in the description! So I started watching this movie and at first I wasn't quite sure what to think about it. It seemed pretty similar to a lot of dramas I had watched and I was pretty sure it was going to follow the normal "high school love story" formula of a relationship roller coaster followed by happily ever after. Was I in for a surprise.

This movie is defiantly different from others I've scene and even though the music was pretty cliche for a drama movie, the casting was great the story was sad (if you're emotional like me you will cry). The one thing about this movie though is that it left me wanting more. Even though I really liked the ending, for me it's just missing something, which makes me constantly re-watch this movie and constantly think about it. However at least in my opinion, that's what makes a good movie. When it has you constantly thinking even long after you've watched it.

Koizora is sad, cute, and sweet. It is certainly aimed at girls, probably for high-school/college students, but I feel like anyone who just wants to watch a sweet love story and is in the mood for something a bit sadder then usual would really enjoy this movie. read more

wow where to start but that this show really pushed me to the point of sadness. My eyes became watery at times especially during the last part when they were protesting in the street. there were many scenes which really got me, the level of acting by the kids were great and painted a realistic picture of what happen to those real kids. this show has really open up my mind to the many wrong doings out there against our kids, regardless of any disabilities they might have. it pains my heart so much to know this was base off a real story....goes to show how much power we give money over our lives allowing it to rob the innocence of our children.

1)The reason I watched this:

Simply because it's a musical film since I like musicals and rock was my favorite music genre at some point therefore I watched this film.

2) Storyline/Plot:

I haven't seen the anime so I didn't know the story beforehand.
Generally, it was pretty good and most of all interesting.

Positive points:

*Rock bands and guitar love; those facts were appealing enough.
*The relationships in the film were captivating since they enrolled too many great feelings.
*Compititions and races to prove oneself ability and passion for music (rock music to be more specific) was a great theme to follow.
*The story's development was smooth: not too fastforward and not too slow.
*Considering the fact that this was a musical film, the music rocked, even those who don't like rock would enjoy it while people who are into rock would love the guitar playing.

Negative points:

*There weren't a lot of concentration on the love story, it was verylight (I like light love stories but this one was ridiculously light).
*Other than that, everything was set up in an acceptable way.

Story: 8/10

3) Acting/Cast:

*Mizushima Hiro: I liked his character and the way he played guitar plus the acting was really convincing.
*Satoh Takeru: I'm not too familiar with this actor but I believe that he did a pretty good job especially when it comes to passion for music.
*The cast was nicely chosen and the acting was good.
*I loved the relationships between the cast specially Beck band's members; it was cool to watch them play, fight, laugh and everything else they've done because every scnene they had together was a simple masterpiece.

Cast: 8.5/10
Acting: 9.5/10

4) The ending:

I was really waiting for the ending because there was a specific scene that I wanted to know but unfortunatly they kept me in the dark about something I really wanted to hear at the end of the film but that doesn't mean it was a bad ending; it was a cool normal musical film's ending.

The ending: 7/10

5)My impression (How did it affect me):

*It made my night and it was fun to watch.
*Since it's a rock musical film, I knew that I would like it and that's exatly what happened.
*Even though it was a little long, I don't believe I got bored at the middle or so, it was smooth to watch.
*I enjoyed the music since it gave me back some old rock memories that I thought I lost.

My impression: 8.5/10.

6) Overall:

*If you like musicals then you really need to watch this (especially if you're Rock music lover).
*If you're looking for romance then don't expect much from this.
*If You're not J-rock or any type of Rock lover then you wouldn't appreciate this.

This movie isnt that complicated but i ended up liking it a lot. Its a different kind of romance movie. Kim Min Hee's character is in between her past lover and a new one. Will she choose her crummy cheating boyfriend or the new guy that can offer her a comfy future? Well in the end she makes the best decision for her self which results in a kind of anticlimactic close.

I really liked the casting for this. Kim Min Hee plays her character so raw that you cant help but like her not perfect character. Lee Mi Sook is a vet so all i can say is she played her character perfectly. I liked her relationship with the younger actor, they had good chemistry. As for the guys, I kind of preferred the musician ex for Kim Min Hee cause he was less boring and more energetic on screen than the other guy.

Overall this movie might not be groundbreaking but i like it enough to watch more than once. read more

this is a real romantic movie!
He had everything. -Love - a good story -laugh and cry moments - at the end dramatic and action moments :)

Lee Byung Hun was amazing. I love his acting skills.
when he cried. I cried. when he laughed with his bright smile. i laughed *-*
he is such amazing!
he was my reason to watch this movie and i thank him for this reason.
this movie is epic!

when you like romantic movies with a deep story. so please, WATCH IT !!! you will not regret it ;)

This is one of the independent films that ive seen that really kind of makes no sense. The movie is exactly how they synopsis describes it. The story is basically dialogue between 5 different couples. Theres no plot outside of that. Each couple only gets 20 minutes of screen time to tell their story. I would be fine with this if there were solutions in the end. Some of the stories don't even make any sense. You dont understand what was the writer's reason for writing that particular story. Anyways the acting was really good by the entire cast and they did what they could with thier 20 minutes. This isnt a must watch movie and it definitely wont be memorable but its a quick time waster. read more
