A must to watch

This is my second chinese drama that I watch. I'm a bit choosy when it comes to watch a drama. I already read also hidden love novel and the manga. I like it so much, so I have a high expectation for this drama. Fortunately, after I watch it, wow it exceeded my expectation. I love everything about this series. I'm so excited to watch from the series start from the beginning to the end. I love the male lead Chen Zheyuan and female lead- Zhou lusi for their great and excellent acting and of course I adore and love for their chemistry in the drama and also behind the secene. They have done an excellent job. Good job producer, director and all the cast. This drama will always be my happiness and all timw favourite. The song choosen for this drama also has a good quality and easy to sing along

How to lose friends and not influence people

The Kirin is a mythical beast that emerges in times of peace. A symbol of peace then. All Might, but even more mythical.

Peace is good. Therefore, summoning the Kirin must be too. But something is never given for nothing. Don't matter if you’re a Naruto or Full Metal Alchemist guy. The Japanese have taught you. Best of all, it's real!

The price of peace is violence and blood. All of them are consequences of the exertion of power. That changes people, and rarely for good. Weighty stuff for a drama to tackle. Kirin ga Kuru tries. That made it enjoyable enough. I’m more hesitant to conclude that it succeeded.

Kirin ga Kuru is a historical drama set during the Warring States era of Japan. Dai Nippon, the Weebs say. Sengoku Jidai to demonstrate your Total War: Shogun chops. Its central characters are Akechi Jubei Mitsuhide and Oda Nobunaga. Brutus and Caesar. They tried to summon the Kirin and died, friendless, for their trouble.

The narrative unfolds in three kinds of scenes. Cabinet scenes where the principals scheme, plan and monologue about their dreams. Truly top-notch and visceral battle scenes. I've come to appreciate the importance of excellently choreographed small-unit combat scenes. Troy is the standard, but the scenes here are the best I've seen since The Last Day in Changan. Finally, there are scenes that demonstrate the consequences of the cabinet scenes on the common folk—those fated to experience but rarely participate in history. I appreciated the touch. We commons rarely get shout-outs.

The battle scenes are its standout. Some of the monologues in the cabinet scenes could drag out, but I didn't mind much. I think the showrunners stuffed too many cameos from historical figures. Focusing on the machinations of the key players would have been preferable.

I also question the role of Doctor Toan, Koma and Kikimaru. They seem to act as the avatars of the audience and the common people. Yes, their presence often helps with plot exposition, but their role as main characters is awkward. I disagree with the director's choice to compress the narrative arc of multiple side characters into those three. Frankly, we spend too much time with characters who are unimportant in the story’s grand scheme.

I cannot fault professionals for their competence. Excellent acting is the baseline for any broadcast show, much like you expect basic spelling competence from me. That said, there are always levels to any craft. Sometani Shota as Oda and Sasaki Kiranosuke as Hideyoshi are particular standouts, immediately elevating all their scenes. The bad guys were cooler!

Kirin ga Kuru's is an artistic moving picture. Its cinematography is screensaver tier, and the musical team from John Graham down brings their orchestral and acoustic A-game! Haven't heard a soundtrack that good since Novoland: Pearl Eclipse.

Kirin ga Kuru doesn't drop the ball like Novoland did. But it, ultimately, isn't spectacular either. It's just there. It's The CW, not HBO, if you catch my drift. Interesting in patches but not something you'll be beating down doors to recommend.

Give it a try! One of best enemy to lover trope!

[Just watch it guys! Some will like it, some will dislike but give it a go!! ] 🤗

First of all, Bad buddy has an interesting storyline but what makes it amazing was their cast acting. Nanon & Ohm are great actors that able to convey the feels through their eyes, action & its not awkward at all. Perfect chemistry ✨

Next, about the story, their relationship begin as rivals because of their parent but deep inside Pran & Pat actually has something else going on, although Pat realise a bit late. Pat is really an interesting as a person who is understanding, straight forward & not afraid to speak up. Pran on the other hand has hesitation in terms of building those kind of r/shp & parent's acceptance.

Also, what I love about the show is no necessary third wheel person or the need for ex or something to interrupt their r/shp etc. Its just some misunderstanding but cleared quickly. The boys do bickering all the time but still love each other. I do find its a bit cringe about the fight among architecture & engineering students. Its important for the plot, so I dont mind.

*Spoilers*

The conflict was just a hurdle when the parent & society found out about them. Pat even suggested them to pretend break up but Im glad they didnt for real. Almost cried for real.

So, overall I give 9.5/10 and its one of my top 10 bl series! 💕

Most realistic tv series ever

I found that the first episodes were so slow in developing events though it was necessary for the setting of characters
I like the fact that it has many motivational messages to your average to outstanding students in high school
The ending was a little bit unclear and undeveloped though it's understandable giving the length of the story
The main female lead did a great job in portraying her character and was amazing throughput the series.
The male leads were a little bit stagnant in their character development. They kept repeating the same cycle of action and reaction without much improvement

"Your voice calls to my heart"

Let me briefly explain about ML/FL....

Our Male lead is a good cook, doctor, musician, voice artist…YEP an all in one 😍😎
& Our female lead is a university student who does music for the historical genre. Her dream is to collaborate with her favorite voice dubbing artist our Male lead

♡ Here's the review: (will update after watching every episode)
What you will get to see in this drama? Here 👇

✅️ Male lead is simply awesome, He is a walking green flag <3 introvert & mature guy!! I'm falling in love with him more & more in each & every episode

✅️ He is not trying to hide his feelings for female lead, even though he is a introvert he is trying his best to start a conversation with female lead and creating a comfortable space in between them.

✅️ Female lead is the cutest 😍 her acting is soo reliastic, I never felt cringe about her acting/attitude.

✅️ Both the main characters are very well written and also the environment of this drama is soo positive, FL has a great/awesome family and ML has a awesome friends/fam

✅️ Second lead couple are the cutest

✅️ no rival no jealousy ❤️

✅️ Healthy Communication in between them!! i really really loved how pure their communication is!! she is telling him how exactly she is feeling about something and he was showing his pure intentions, its soo cute soo guys 😭 Sweetness overload..now i can't sleep 😅

This is absolutely my type of romcom ❤️❤️❤️

What you don't get from this drama

❌️ cold male lead vs Attitude Female lead

❌️ Third wheel

❌️ Annoying Characters to rise our blood pressure

Maybe some of you will hate me for talking like this ,but still ..... I never able to watch a cdrama with this much of love!! Either They will drag the story or the couples have unrealistic miscommunication in between them!! But oh my god believe me guys this is not one of them!!

And the harsh truth is I started watching this drama becoz of FL (loved her in yesterday once more movie){becoz most of them r started this becoz of ML} but rn I'm falling in love with our ML, don't misunderstood my words!! I dont like him Just becoz he is a nice guy, he was literally showing our FL how much he values her!! From asking her permission if she is comfortable in adding him to her we chat to asking her if he can give her his mobile number!! DAMN THE RESPECT HE IS GIVING HER, I'M FALLING FOR THAT ...

Humanity's hurdles.

We enter season 2 with a lot of differences from the first season.

Firstly all around the budget, there is more use of CGI because of the increase of monsters, the sets are vast and in different locations which opens for more exploration and the number of characters, the cast has expanded exponentially.

Second, the group finds itself separated. Hyun Soo is riding alone with Sang Wook in his wake, little happens on their side in the first part of the season aside from Hyun Soo having an existential fight with himself, seeing monsters who are still human getting killed and humans themselves who are victims of monsters, he does not know where to stand and how to consider himself.

For others, they desperately try to reach a safe heaven but only end up in dangerous places.

As for Yi Kyung, she struggles to find her husband, and finds herself confronted with a terrible situation and reality.

I won't talk about the rest of the season, which is really more exciting in terms of storyline, although I hate that some major characters were missing from few episodes and Hyun Soo wasn't featured as much as he should have.

I have to say that overall, I felt something was lacking from this season, it felt like I was watching a transition, this season felt like appetizer that prepares for the main course (season 3), we had quite a lot of action scenes, but the pace was rather stale. However, I do have to say, strangely the series had a lot of depth and emotion. They made us feel for both humans and monsters alike, while also hating them, that was masterfully executed. Quite a few characters encounter a tragic destiny, people we had become attached to, the series is crueler in this aspect.

If I had to summarize this season, I would say that despite the action in a sense it is more slow-paced and has more emotional depth to take us through a journey of hardships where humanity is the center of it all.

I can't!

I like the idea but the execution is really bad. I am real lenient when it comes to acting. I understand BL usually has rookie but this show is really hard to watch. I must say some of the fetish are quite interesting, quite refreshing concept but i feel NOTHING.

The execution of the scenes, the acting or expression or emotions are really bad. Plus, I am so confused with who is who and what's happening even after 2 episodes lol

Also, the guys aren't all that cute or hot for a show called Playboy...

Maybe its just me, but boy...I guess show like KP or only friends have set the standard too high lol

Started off with a BANG(or should I say a Nail Him)

Yes, yes and yes. Already hooked from episode one. The clever Names being Nail and Him *insert sly emoji*. Absolutely here for the Nail character. When he finds out his partner cheated on him, he did finally what I wished most characters would do in dramas which is give absolutely no f*cks. He knows his worth and the way he handled the situation with the third party was absolutely HILARIOUS *insert laughing emoji *.
Not going to lie I have absolutely no idea what is completely going on with the plot lol.

Bad acting and a horrible setting

This Korean remake falls short of capturing the essence of the original Taiwanese series. The leads have zero chemistry, and their acting feels super forced. It's like they're just going through the motions- it was so slow and boring. The OSTs are not memorable. They do not add anything to the drama and are quickly forgotten.

Even with utmost generosity, I can't rate this remake higher than a 4. The filming location fails to evoke the sentiments of longing and loss that permeate the series. The attempt to modernize the setting detracts from the story's intended atmosphere.

Overall, this remake is just a massive disappointment. It doesn't capture the magic of the original drama, and it's just a waste of time. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone. If you're looking for something good, just stick with the original.

The first one was good, but we could have done better.

A very confusing narrative plot, but with very profound features. It must be said that the theme of sexual identity is increasingly present in Korean dramas, a giant step forward in a closed and very "homophobic" world. Here the theme of obsession was adopted, to deal with something dramatic, identifiable. The two protagonists are very in tune, the classic love story of two very different people, but very similar to each other. Then there is the fantasy component, that is, her ability to know whether the person in front of her is telling a lie or the truth. The obvious ending, and the extra episode that wasn't needed. But all in all, she wasn't too bad, in fact quite the opposite. I know Kim So Hyun well, loved by the undersigned in every interpretation of her. Most of all, "Who are you", which deals with the topic of bullying that is so dear to me.

Not my Wonderland

Wonderland was too fake for me to buy into their heart-to-heart talks there. And unfortunately, the tear jerker scene there just didn’t do it for me - firstly because the whole wonderland setting looked so artificial and secondly because there were too many flashback scenes. The last few episodes were too draggy.

This drama was really generous with the kissing scenes but unfortunately, some of them felt forced and out of place. Sometimes, all it takes is a hug or a loving peck on the forehead to have a more impactful, romantic atmosphere.

Parts of the story just didn’t sit well with me. A good guy turned bad just because he saw the FL in a romantic moment with the ML and he even tried to kill the man who raised him just to force the FL to be with him. Was he driven insane by his desire for the FL?

This drama likes making people go insane so it also made the FL’s father go mad and his hair turned grey overnight. And how the ML found someone who could do “magic” to cure the FL’s father took this drama away from reality.

And just when you thought the insanity cards were all played out, another character was written to go insane as well.

What I did like were their costumes and fighting scenes. The beginning storyline was interesting as well to see how the FL and ML strategised and tried to one-up the other person. Thankfully, there was a happy ending.

Random note: Is there a product placement advertising in the drama for Tang Confectionery? The way they kept talking about it and all the dried fruit and nut made it look like it was an advertisement…

Sacrifice That Leads to A Bitter Result

The series are been so successful and became my favorite. But, this movie, definitely on my favorite list too. I really enjoyed the pace, the building character, and the acting that everyone gives on this movie. Give me some nostalgic feeling too when I see the female lead of 1st & 2nd season.

As always, the story is pretty well executed and leave me goosebump with the unexpected truth! I am always wondering while watched this movie, why Mamoru look like he has an important role on this story, and why does he easily cooperate with Miyama at their first encounter. I was also thinking that maybe Mamoru did saw the real culprit before, but the truth is more than that. Just... wow. It was a hard guess game for me LOL. The truth of the case are just cruel than I imagined, I really hate the fact that all the villagers who involved in the case are not gonna be prosecuted by the court because of the time limit of the case. But, at least they're gonna feel guilty forever for making a dumb decision like that.

And last but not least. I loved how the pun joke always makes me confused, but once I got what it means in literal, I will laugh my ass off HAHAHAHHAHA. For example, when Miyama joking about the barrel and the wine like "思い当たるか" to "重い、ああー たるか。" or the "Inari" thing one LOL it's so brilliant yet hilarious.

That's all my review, sorry for my broken grammar. You can give a shot for this movie, it's totally worth it!

Sweet Awaited Home: Depth That Makes The Heart Ache

Are we monster-like humans or are the monsters human-like? In this series, this gap becomes narrow, as fighting for survival brings out the worst and most deadly primal parts of us.

Finally, Lee Eung Bok and his team of staff, outstanding actors, and editors have provided us with the long-awaited second season of "Sweet Home". Needless to say, I was one of those waiting for a continuation. I´m glad the day has eventually come. The sadness and tragedy of the first season have found their revival in the second season. This time, however, the location isn´t as limited anymore as before, which results in even a less predictable outcome. If you wanted a lowkey introduction to the second season, Netflix has a surprise for you: An immediate invitation to watch full of excitement, as they lead you into a world of horror and chaos. No time to spare brutalities when humanity is facing its last trial.

The only mentionable "minutiae" would be that the plot gets a little confusing because there are many characters introduced and it´s not easy to decipher their importance. The more information one has to consider, and the more demanding this series is to remember a lot of details, the more it could lead to a wave of confusion. However, I do see that the screenwriters were trying to deliver and portray various sides of this hell of a dystopian world and needed various characters to do so.

"Surprisingly hopeful and at times heartwarming tone for a show full of monsters and death" (Kate´s words in her review of the first Season - recommended read if you haven´t done so yet); watch for yourself if these words are still the case in Season 2, as the circumstances have taken on a dramatic extent. What I love about this series is that the monsters also get a personality and "humanlike" attributes. There is no good or bad, we humans are always on a spectrum of both trades, which is prone to quick and at times unexpected shifts. The implementation of this makes "Sweet Home" more than just any other series with monsters.

The acting is disturbingly good, and I am speaking of almost all longtime on-screen performances. Song Kang´s portrayal of Cha Hyun So is still an eye candy. The same goes for the entire main lead, including Lee Jin Wook as the unpredictable Pyeon Sang Wook and Lee Si Young as the unyielding firefighterSeo Yi Kyung who tries to not become as inhuman as all the others. Honestly, I could spend hours and hours naming all these actors, as each one of them gave me goosebumps at one point or another.

Park Jin Young is the real MVP!

'A Christmas Carol' is a story about a twin brother who goes to a juvenile detention center on his own to avenge the death of his twin brother. It's not Christmas-themed, more about an incident that happen during Christmas time. It's an intense movie filled with very VERY painful scenes, I felt a slow-burn suspense consistently. It looks very dark and gritty, a lot of beating and cursing so trigger warning. The flashbacks scenes are not confusing and it flows well with the plot. It's not just a movie about a crime investigation, it is also asking about whom and what do you take for granted in your life, how important revenge is and how far can you go.

By the climax, I got so angry and sad. It's a very unsettling reveal, so proceed with caution... it’s not a movie that leaves you feeling okay. For this reason, I won't recommend this to all, unless you want to see Jin Young's amazing acting nuance, at the same time ruining your inner child's fantasy on Santa Claus...

Though it’s great that I felt really emotional throughout, I had to suspend my disbelief for the real cause and execution of the main incident. It explains the meaning of foreshadowing scenes leading up to this climax, but I expect this particular scene could have been written better or more realistic. Nevertheless, I think this is a great movie because it manages to grabbed my heart and ruined it to pieces. I will need some time to heal and by re-watching Jin Young's other works. Hats off to you, Park Jin Young, I respect you very much!

Sometimes Humans are more dangerous than the Monsters

No Spoilers:

They certainly pushed the story, action and thrill up a notch as compared to S1 followed by a lot of heartbreaks and pain.
No one knows who will make it till the end and chances are your beloved characters might just die or have a fate worse than that.
S2 proved that Humans and its greed can be far more dangerous, inhumane and ruthless than those monsters.
The story and acting was phenomenal, as they did manage to show all the emotions and decisions that a human can make in those drastic situations. I would say i ended up hating the humans in the show even more as compared to the blood thirsty monsters.
Both the budget and production value has increased and it shows in the series too. Eagerly waiting for S3 and the final showdown.
