This drama was really frustrating I guess. I thought the ending would be at this point and it just so full of happiness when all said and done but... The plot twist omg??? Maybe I will rewatch it in the future but it is a bit confusing ngl. The Male Lead(ML) is ruthless but he did with a reason and a softie to people he love. The Female Lead(FL) is bold but she is a bit obnoxious at certain times and she admits it too, so props to her lmao. I love that it's different with this drama that the ML's gesture of love is just so admiring and how the FL has strong will to pursue her investigations and dream. I also the love the character growths of both second male and female lead. -231128

Its a miracle i got through episode 1

As i wrote in the above headline "Its a miracle i got through episode 1"
i assure you , i am not over exaggerating this AT ALL!!!!
Firstly the plot it was okay if anything i dont have a problem with that
but what i do have a problem with is two things
the behaviours of the characters and how long it is

Now i highly dislike how nut behaves towards his own mother and taohu like that was too aggressive even for him
and the fact that taohu is taking that is another thing, that is incoherently possible !!!
is he some epileptic person/teddybear that cant get some in back
Like i know he is a bear that just turned human and all that but still Me personally cant take that abuse!!!!!
i would like to know how some ppl can stand to watch that and got the guts to rate 10/10 -_- like....really???
i know for a fact that they would be all lovey dovey and stuff but still cant be me !!!!

And i personally watched alot of bls and i know that some of them does be very long in terms of number of episodes and how long the episode takes but it has to be a good series, but this is not worth it!!!! For this to be worth it the episodes need to cut short like 8 to 10 tops but DAMN !!!! 16 episodes with how this series going No sir!!!!!! i am good

i would advise some of u who come across this please dont watch this series if so get ready for a world of cringiness and heartbreak and of course it would have some romance but i aint gonna wait for it to kick in like in what??? the 10th or the 11th episode or smth or ep 9 Nah i am good !!! it would really disappoint you Really!!!

how is it so bad… literally

It’s both funny and sad how bad this kdrama is
unless it’s target audience was kids below 10, I don’t know how anyone could take it srs

…the absolute terrible plot that beats even the most unpopular shows, the cringe characters, the cringe backstory of every single character, the cringe dialogues…. I think its the first kdrama that made me feel absolutely nothing but rage and disgust
It gets worse when u understand russian, there was literally no reason for them to go out of their way to make this mafia thing up and speak absolute gibberish, I’m not even joking ☠️☠️☠️ even a tiny bit of effort would make it better but I guess the audience is supposed to eat it up anyway 🗿

u can just see it’s a low effort low quality piece of something no one needed in their life…. I was hoping it gets better since I had nothing else to watch anyway but now I just wish I never even knew this thing existed

A comedic relief

This is the perfect series to watch after we had just gotten some darker themed dramas such as Only Friends and Dangerous Romance. It’s the perfect drama to watch right now alongside Last Twilight because of the perfect contrast between the two. OffGun have shown us exactly what they’re capable of with Not Me so it’s so refreshing that they can have such an easier laid back series. The entire cast are just so hilarious and I’m enjoying the comedy aspect of the show.
I’ve waited a while for this show and can not wait for more from OffGun in the future.
You should watch it because OffGun has great natural chemistry and you can see Neo act as a “straight” man *insert crying emoji*.

extremely cringe and got really difficult to end

The drama started okay but the acting of the FL is extremely annoying. Plus it seems that the "good guys" have no morals whatsoever. The story was weird and cringe. Everything was exaggerated by several orders. Everything seemed extremely forced. It would have been much better had they left the series at Strong Girl Do Bong Soon as it was a really enjoyable drama. But this one felt too forced in trying to make the women in the drama some kind of vigilante heros that are the sole reason the country is functioning whatsoever.

May the baddest man win.

This is the drama adaptation of a popular female harem web novel "Kun Ning" (坤宁) by Shi Jing (时镜) with an interesting approach; readers voted on who the female protagonist ends up with. It is a dark and gripping tale of intrigue, conceit, betrayal, revenge and redemption. Jiang Xuening is the alluring but resentful, selfish and ambitious daughter of a court official who ruthlessly parleys her charm and cunning into becoming empress. Her schemes lead to the downfall of the royal family and the ruin of both her childhood sweetheart Yan Lin and the erstwhile incorruptible Zhang Zhe. Desperate and full of regret, she barters her life with the blackbellied Xie Wei to save Zhang Zhe. She finds herself reborn as her 18-year old self with a chance for a do-over. She vows to do better this time, to steer clear of the bastions of power and the malevolent Xie Wei. She tries to use her preternatural knowledge to save Yan Lin and Zhang Zhe from their sad fortune. As she embarks on a journey of atonement, she discovers there is an element of destiny that pulls her towards the center of power. This time, with greater wisdom and insight, she uncovers hidden secrets and unexpected allies that help her better grasp the intrigue unfolding around her. Is that enough to change their destinies or are they doomed to the same tragic fate?

This story explores the causal links between the past, the present and the future.; the idea that if only knowing what we know now, we can go back and do what we should have, could have but did not do. It begins with a Ning'er who is already a fully realised character that is not yet revealed; a charming beauty who had the world at her feet and lived a wicked and self-indulgent life. Even though Ning'er's goals change, her innate nature stays the same. The past is told in flashbacks just before the moment plays out again in the present. This works in terms of the more detailed plot points but dilutes the character and relationship stories. Thus while Bai Lu pulls off her role well overall, the piecemeal telling of the backstory doesn't capture the depth of Ning'er's regret or the layers in her relationships with some of the main characters.

Where the storytelling falls short is in Zhang Zhe's arc. To me, it is the most pivotal love story in the drama. He was the best of men, a morally upright official who betrayed his principles for her. And she was a selfish person who was so moved she became selfless for him. Their emotions were so powerful it pushed them both outside of themselves towards a mutually destructive outcome. Sadly unlike the novel, their do-over relationship is shallow and barely scratches the surface of the unfinished affinity between them. It's a pity that instead sticking to the novel which better fleshes out this arc they wasted a bunch of time on the nasty Consort Shu's boring and tropey petty antics. Wang Xingyue delivers such an empathetic portrayal of Zhang Zhe that I was disappointed his character was short changed by the narrative.

As for Xie Wei, I have a weakness for unapologetic, unspeakably damaged, vengeful and morally ambiguous characters like this. Zhang Linghe delivers an intense portrayal of this dark and complex role. Although he overdoes some of the snarls and sneers, his performance overall deserves praise and is his strongest to date. Every time the full fury of Xie Wei's fiery death glare flashes across the screen, I go weak at the knees and my brain turns to mush. Yups, I am definitely a "may the baddest man win" kind of girl. Xie Wei is far from the best man but they are well matched, morally flexible ends justify means kind of people. Their romance arc only takes off later on but it is worth the wait. A mutual understanding develops gradually between them before things get really hot and steamy. When it does, their audacious chemistry explodes in a way that sets a new bar for passionate kiss scenes going forward.

Even though the political conspiracy is not that complicated, it is well told and riveting. Xie Wei's origins are a bit too obvious early on but I enjoyed how Ning'er and Xie Wei work together to uncover the conspiracy. They are both diabolical in how they manipulate the different factions around like chess pieces. The villains are no pushovers but they are overshadowed by the force of nature that is Xie Wei and Ningér's combined dark ruthlessness. This is not an action heavy drama but all of the fight scenes were well shot. I particularly enjoyed the vicious ferocity and absolute glee with which Yan Lin cuts through a melee. I hope this fight maniac Zhou Junwei's small indiscretion does not stand in the way of future roles in action intensive wuxias. Outside of one unnecessary and infuriatingly gratuitous death, the drama ends on a strong note after a bloody, intense and thrilling showdown.

While I enjoyed this drama immensely, the storytelling left me vaguely dissatisfied; as if I only watched the cliff note version of a story that had a lot more depth, nuance and substance than the drama managed to convey. This director is not great at knowing which plot arcs to give more weight to and has an unfortunate predilection for over-bright spot lights and spinning cameras. The production values are mediocre at best. This is a story that had so much potential it deserved to be in the hands of a better director and a better budget. I still rate this a highly reccomended 8.5/10.0.

It was a wind of fresh air. What a comforting K-Drama!

It started out intriguing, and I became addicted to it easily. I cried while watching some episodes.

Episode 6 was sad, it was hard to watch. It showed us how lonely someone can be.

I had another episode that left me torn, episode 7 was just a masterpiece! I do not have any complaints about this series.

This drama is a must-watch for those who have a lot of prejudice about mental health. It is okay not to be okay, it's okay to look for help. Remember, everything will be better.

It's all about defying expectations and taking viewers on an unexpected journey.

Copycat Killer is a gem that not only keeps you on the edge of your seat but also throws in a dash of nostalgia and a hearty serving of genuine human emotion.

The cast of Copycat Killer deserves a standing ovation. Their performances breathe life into the characters, making you forget they're just on screen. Wu Kang-ren, in particular, shines as the determined prosecutor, delivering a performance that reaches through the screen and grabs your attention.

Transporting us to 1990s Taiwan, the series is a visual feast with its meticulous attention to detail. Outdated technology adds a nostalgic touch, while the cinematography plays with angles that amplify both suspense and beauty in every scene.

The storyline, with its Japanese drama flair, unfolds like a complex puzzle. However, it's not without its quirks. The killer's identity is revealed a bit too early, taking away some suspense. And relying on self-confessions feels like a missed opportunity for mind-bending plot twists.

Yet, Copycat Killer keeps you hooked by diving into the personal lives of its characters. Their struggles, not just with the case but with their own demons, add layers of realism. The well-written interactions make the characters relatable, turning this crime drama into an emotionally resonant experience.

In conclusion, Copycat Killer is more than your average whodunit. With commendable acting, a nostalgic setting, and a storyline that balances suspense with character depth, it stands out in the crowded thriller landscape. It's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, even when faced with darkness. Despite its flaws, the series leaves a lasting impression, urging viewers to unmask not just the shadows within the plot but the shadows within themselves.

For those craving a crime drama with heart and depth, Copycat Killer is a journey worth taking. It's not perfect, but it's fun, humanized, and refuses to release its grip until the very end. So, buckle up for a thrilling dance through time and mystery!

A story about a young woman who dreamt of becoming a diva.

The idea of the story itself is very unique in my opinion. Though there are some illogical point (regarding her survival in the deserted island), but the whole visual is super great. And the story is not merely highlighting the romance between the main leads couple. But it showed us friendship, hope, resilience, and persistence.

The actors and actresses really did a great job in portraying their character. Park Eun Bin with her quirk, Chae Jong Hyeop with his talking eyes, Cha Hak Yeon with his wit, and Kim Hyo Jin with her clumsiness. I really enjoyed their acting here. So did the supporter character. Everyone was equally doing their best to portray their character.

Though the focus of the series itself is not romance, but I can feel a great chemistry between the ML and FL. They portrayed pure love. And it feels so sweet and sincere.

Is it disappointing ? Yes but good

Okay to be honest if I watched till ep no 08 i would have given even better review but between the ep 09- 13 it was really hard if you ask they should have cut short those episodes.
The power was over the top but for its okay it's good until ep 8.
But last three episodes again so good not best better than all other episodes of the show.
Many say it's over the top and I agree but it's what you expect from this series i think wasn't much of a problem to me. Only problem we have three characters doing same silly use of power which made lot of cringe factors kick in.
I think main couple has same chemistry as orginal only problem they won't allowed to shine except they were using the villain which is also working but why ?
Problem will go on but as i said first half is good and finally three episodes is better middle part rough as going in desert if you don't dig in the villon because main point of the story and grandma love triangle which is by far is super hard to pass on.
I don't think acting as no problem every did there role better but seriously the production team or make up team as series problem on cloth choice they made sometime it horrible to watch the actor wearing those.
They made first episode epik and lost all intrest and made a too hard to fallow ( I mean in character wise) character story
Thank you for reading 😊

Wow, that got me. In one word - beauty.

Impressions? Feelings? Experiences? Strong, deep, unforgettable. I've been looking forward to this series for a long time, but I didn't expect it to interest me like this. I swallowed one part after another and could not tear myself away from it. Cast, great music, but above all a wonderful, incredibly strong story, under the pressure of which I could not stand up, no matter how hard I tried. The biggest rush of emotions I've ever experienced while watching a movie.

Plot, effects, camera, music, actors, jokes, chemistry, serious moments, everything works perfectly. I would rank it among the top dramas I've seen so far.

Do I recommend watching the drama? Certainly yes. - it was simply amazing!

A piece of art...

Perhaps leaving a review after 6 years, when everything has already been said by other people, is meaningless, but my head is full of contradicting thoughts right now, and there's no real place to express them.

The cast was chosen perfectly, the music was spectacular, because I'm a sucker for classical music. The plot...
Art isn't something that everyone can do, and we know it. My future profession is politics, and perhaps I'll have to deceive myself and my commitments, become coldhearted and kinda deprived of the chance to express my true feelings.
The psychology of art is a subject of extensive studies, and it goes without saying that art and emotion are homogenous in some way. A true piece of art can be born only when you lay bare your true feelings, emotions, pain, struggles and etc. The same goes for acting.

Jae Ha is someone who loses himself every time when he gets to play a new role. His character becomes his doppleganger, that's the reason he is a well-known veteran actor. He is devoted to his job, consequently he doesn't bare tardiness and slothfulness from his partners.
Young Woo is exhaused. Girls running around him trying to take a pic or touch him is a usual part of his life and perhaps he was tired of doing the same thing every day. Acting is something that helps a lot in recognizing yourself better, finding our your limits, so he wanted to try something new. I bet he could never know that he would get deeply infatuated with the veteran actor, who himself, despite his age and experience, never knew he could ever fall in love with his acting partner, because his method of acting had never let him down.

Yes, as far as I'm concerned he had feelings for Young Woo, albeit he couldn't accept them till the end. The inner battle he was going through was obvious - him running every day as fast as he can to drop those thoughts out of his head, being startled and speechless after every physical contact he made with Young Woo (the photoshoot, for example, which wasn't a part of the play). During the play he kissed Young Woo and also wasn't a part of it. That was something that he wanted himself.

Young Woo felt like he had been toyed with, because he truly believed that there was something between them. The reason he could perfectly execute his role is that he loved Jae Ha the way Singer loved Walter: madly, deeply, passionately. In the end of the performance he indeed tried to commit suicide,

But the age gap says it all. Being a young man who wants to explore the world and open himself up to new things and a middle aged man who understands the laws of attraction. It's comprehensible why Young Woo was ready to tell everyone about his, their feelings (my feelings, our feelings): he is young, vigorous, ready to overcome obstacles, because is there anything impossible when you're young?
Jae Ha is a middle aged man who can foresee the consequenses of jumping the gun and sacrificing everything. Let's take into account that homosexuality isn't something widely accepted in Korea.
At the same time, I can't deny the fact that he had feelings for Young Woo. When the latter told him that he was ready to tell everyone, he just held his face in his hands and that moment I felt his rue. During the play we could notice the thin line between the play and reality: he mixed up the names, forgot what was a part of a play and what was not. That's why, in the end, Young Woo is the perfect Singer and Jae Ha is just Walter.

I don't believe that there's a happy ending for them despite the open ending which lets us interpret it ourselves. They will go their separate ways but there's no doubt that they left an unerasable trace in each others lives.

I know that my review is as messy as the plot of "Unchain" but that's what it is. Actually, there are more thoughts invading my head right now, but I can't put them in words. This was breathtaking, compelling, and definetly not for everyone due to it's intrication.

Beautiful and engaging masterpiece of drama

Absolutely the best drama I have seen in every aspect:
- perfect pacing
- interesting and engaging plots
- excellent acting
- great chemistry between two main leads
- amazing delivery of the complex character (XW) by the actor
- all the actors/actresses did great job, they all suited their roles
- the ending is very satisfacory and makes the journey of 38 episodes that more precious and worth it
- the music is beautiful and suits the drama so well
- the actions scenes all look very well

This is the very first time the entire show stole my heart.

Just mehh boring..

Actually, this drama is good if there are no childish problems. from the start I didn't feel happy about the problems in this drama from everyone who treated FL badly and FL who was very stupid felt guilty because of her own actions even though I don't think it was her fault either but she was too afraid to admit it and through it she made it worse chooses to hide it and prefers to put all the blame on him. On the other hand, ML comes like a warrior prince who wants to help his beloved woman through all trials. I don't know why I don't enjoy and don't like stories like this, even though I like romance dramas and ost dramas, but stories that I think are a waste of time are really unacceptable.

Not what I expected....

I expected so much from this because this was the sequel of one of my all time favourite dramas and even the cast was amazing in this drama but the writer ruined it all. The plot was so lacking, we didn't even get to see the female lead using her powers much and I thought the 3 women would work together using their powers but they just gave grandma a cringey love story that I hated so much!!

The ML actor is a really good actor but they wasted his character here & the villain had more screentime than anyone else but I'm not complaining about because he's the only reason I watched this till the end. Byun Woo Seok carried the whole show for me because only his character had some depth with a background story & I even felt bad about his story because he was the only interesting character. He made such a good villain who was charismatic, also he was so hot I have to say that ^^

There were way too many useless characters and cringey scenes. I don't even have anything good to say about this. The only good thing was the acting because all of them were such good actors but the writing wasted their acting skills. I also didn't like how the villain killed himseld in the end because I would've preferred him to go to jail and receive his punishment. And as much as I couldn't hate the villain, they focused the story way too much around him and not the main characters

Overall it was a waste of time & I'm disappointed with the writer for ruining this drama like this. And please they better not make a season 3 after this disappointment -_-
