Sometimes toxic, sometimes fluffy

Sailom was a perfect character and his sarcasm made me laugh but then his humor faded away when the person he trusted the most left him.
Don't get me wrong, I liked how it developed between Kang and Sailom but the bullying at the start was too brutal and it changed somehow too quickly. Then when they became couple, it looked great. Their trip was seriously touching and I loved their love scene but when they returned, it went downhill. Even though Saifah confessed he did it, Kanghan had no right to throw the blame at Sailom as well! Sailom did nothing wrong but Kanghan treated him like a murdered and someone who'd do anything for money!
Sailom went through hell... his boyfriend ditched him and he had no money when his brother got locked up. I expected Kanghan would help him in this kind of situation but when he showed up to save Sailom from the r*pist, instead of calming him down, he started shouting at him, poured water at him to wake him up and even sexually assaulted him just because Sailom tried to get money this way... Sailom had serious breakdown in the bathroom and Kanghan was one of the causes but comforted Sailom and looked like his hero again... I'd expect a very big apology or Sailom being angry at him but no, he was taking all of Kanghan's accusations and insults... then when Kanghan learns the truth, it's like nothing happened. Like he didn't do anything bad to Sailom and Sailom ignores it too... I seriously loved it till ep 9 but the end disappointed me.

Your classic case of a Romcom turned Murder Mystery

So I’m not even gonna lie, I found out about this drama through tiktok edits titled as the most wholesome drama of the season and saw some scenes that literally blew me away with how cute they were. So naturally I pick up the show and start watching.

The first episode is awesome, it’s amazing, it’s everything I wanted and expected. Our FL, weighed down by the harsh daily life of the city decides to move to the country side. Great! Everything is settled and arrangements are made and there she was at the beach of Angok basking in the sun. Watching that scene was the most liberating thing ever and you could literally feel your stress being washed away as she runs towards the water and dives in.

Episode 2 rolls around. Now we’re being introduced to the town and the dynamics of the people living there adding dimensions and depth to the story. We love to see it.

The FL meets the ML and instantly they are hooked on one another. Their feelings slowly develop and in each and every scene between them I could literally feel the butterflies.

And so I was hooked. It didn’t require much and I didn’t expect more. Things are slowly unfolding as they should.

As the FL is staying there, she decides she’ll starts journaling so we are baited with this plot point of her developing an interest in writing and all things are going as expected in this tranquil country side. You got your usual nosy kids, angry locals and small town secrets but nothing that can’t be conquered by the power of love and friendship.

Only problem is, as the story progresses, they decide that complicating the plot is the way to go. First of, they introduce the ML’s “dark past” which is alright. Nothing out of the ordinary. But only they decide that no, that’s not enough we need a convoluted murder case and an unnecessary plot twist and that’s where the show completely lost me.

Dae Bum, the ML, had enough of a “layered” backstory and a lot on his plate in the right-now to worry about. But they decided to bring up the past in the most ridiculous, unnecessarily complicated manner. There was no need for a second murder to happen for the first one to be “solved”. In fact, the first plot they went with was more than good enough. Why keep on adding on more and more plot points?

Especially when they dismissed and quickly went over his current present problems. Glossing over everything and quickly resolving it.

As for Yeo Reum who ran away from the toxic city life only to be chucked into this mysterious village of horrors. People complained about how much of a doormat she was but I thought to myself nothing wrong with a meek FL. Not everyone in life is a fighter. But nothing developed at all.

Everything they prepared us for regarding her character “arc” never unfolded. She did a magazine interview and that went nowhere I don’t even know why they bothered adding that in. In the end they teased how she’ll start writing a webtoon. Like, why couldn’t this just be the plot? Why did she have to be this detective Conan all of a sudden?

Her morals were questionable at times, and while I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, her inconsistency at times confused me. E.g. yelling at Kim Bom for not wanting to be associated with her abusive alcoholic father and then getting annoyed at that mom for wanting to protect her DISABLED son who was falsely convicted for murder?! Make it make sense. All whilst completely forgetting about her brother who was unreasonably villainized and then completely erased from existence never to be mentioned again.

I tried to brush some things off as being part of the “culture” and nature of a small town village but I couldn’t at times. Especially when she, as the main lead, was supposed to represent the opposite of those traditional expectations.

Many of the plot points were left undiscovered. Kim Bom’s childhood friend, her father and his alcoholism (and apparently gambling addiction, too now). Speaking of Kim Bom, she had the most tragic and dramatic plot out of everyone in that show which was poorly executed.

Whenever the writer was at loss on how to mobilize the plot, boom! they threw a tragedy at Kim Bom and that’s how it went. And DON’T get me started on how simply Jae Hun just went and came back from The States. Ridiculous!

Sung Min being a single dad. Like, where’s the mom? In this gossipy small town no mention of her at all?
Ji Young absolutely hating the country side only to decide on a whim that, no! She actually doesn’t. Like, what?

The billiards club and how Sung Min’s dad became the owner. Dae Bum’s family position in Angok and just Dae Bum in general. How he grew up without his parents and what actually happened between him and that professor. He remained an enigma to the very last moment.

And the god damn pacing. How much time went by? Between the multiple time leaps and Yeo Reum packing her bags to leave every other day it was impossible to discern. At times it felt like days other times it felt like months.

And the romance! Where did it go? We never went past the awkward infatuation stage which was cute until the show approached its end and I grew frustrated. The most we got was some hand holding UGH! On the other hand, Kim Bom got a dramatic passionate kiss under the rain. Absolute clownery.

And the beach! You’d think now that she lives by it she’ll be there every other day but, no! I mean, I can’t blame her she was too busy solving crimes.

I was never set up for this amount of disappointment in my life. The last thing I expected was for this to turn into a murder mystery show. Other than the cute moments between the two leads, their chemistry and endearing conversations, everything else seemed to go wrong. It was a shame to see this go to waste especially with how exceptional everyone’s performance was.

I’m convinced something went wrong with either the budget, ratings or writers because to have this easy of a plot then f’ it up this bad made zero sense.

Chimon Is Excellent. Perth Is Excellent. Separately

Perth was gold with Saint even though its been a long time. I am not a huge fan of Perth since the video dropped of LBC cast bullying openly gay Earth. Though Mean was the worse of them. Back To this train wreck of a series.

The Cast was great and the potential was there but somehow the drop the ball down a hill and legend is it's still rolling. At least it's replacement seems better. Here's to Jimmy and Sea helping at least me put this series where it belongs. in the past.

I will say though I prefer Mark with Cooper but Pawin is a close second and had they given them an actual story this series would have been worth it. The crumbs they gave this side couple is actually criminal.

Then an ending that was so corny it deserved a cob.

Without wind, how can a windmill spin?

The trailer got me very excited, it seemed angsty and gloomy with a dash of action. And interesting combination that the series sadly didn’t deliver. The first two, three episodes were much more in line with the trailer, but it went downhill after that.

I feel like the first thing that needs to be addressed is a title. There was a lot of complaints on how the title makes no sense, and when it comes to the English title, I must agree. The direct translation of the Thai title would be “Heart in the Wind” and it’s a play on the fact that Sailom means wind. But they tried to make the title more interesting in English which sadly ended up doing them more harm than good. This is not just Dangerous Romance problem, but it’s something we see with a lot of series and movies. It’s not even limited only to Thai productions, even Hollywood titles translations are often very questionable.

I will be honest; I am usually not a fan of bully x victim romances. I don’t think that type of relationship is the kind that we should romanticize. The same goes for the idea that a little boy will pull a little girl’s hair because he likes her. It doesn’t work that way. However, I really liked how Sailom didn’t bow down to Kang from the start. He was well aware of the fact that he was in an inferior position, but he had his pride and was not going to let Kang walk all over him. I think that made it easier to swallow the premise of a bully and his victim getting together. Also, the fact that they went out of their way to make sure Kang was not as cruel to Sailom as he was to Auto, nor nearly as long for.

Kang & Sailom: Kang is a spoiled rich brat. At least that is what he shows himself as, but that seems to be (at least partially) a front that he puts up. He does struggle a lot with people not having any expectations from him and his father always paying for Kang to get what he wants. No expectations are just as detrimental to a person as too high expectations. Sailom doesn’t come from money, and he is working hard to finish school, get into a good university and to help his brother pay off their family’s debt. He is both book smart and street smart. But he also hides a part of himself. Sometimes his bravery is just an act to hide how vulnerable and scared he is. Their relationship progressed too fast for my liking; they went from enemies to lovers in a very short time. Sailom did appear very reluctant when it came to their relationship, was very guarded. And I hated how that translated through the screen. I also didn’t like how Kang reacted at certain times. He was unreliable, rash, and confusing both to himself and to others. But I also understand why he acted that way based on his upbringing. He is used to everything being easy for him. That does not excuse how quickly Sailom forgave him. There should have been some begging. Perth and Chimon have good chemistry, but I don’t think that really showed in the series. And a lot of that has to do with Sailom’s reluctancy when it comes to showing affection to his boyfriend. Some of the emotional scenes were done better than others, but I wasn’t too bothered by that.

I do think that Sailom was that push Kang needed to better himself, to really see how his actions affect those around him. There was one specific scene in which Kang was a witness to violence and not the instigator. It might not have been bullying per se, but it was close enough. He was put into a very different position, and I do think that made him question his own behavior to some point.

Guy & Nawa: I have mixed feelings about the two. On one hand, I think they make a great couple, but on the other hand, I hate that they too started as bully x victim. It wasn’t really something that just happened for the first time like it was with Kang and Sailom. The two are very similar and I think that’s what makes them work. They are competitive, loyal and thrive on egging the other one. Plus they are absolutely adorable together! Marc and Pawin have great chemistry and it’s always fun seeing the two together.

Napdao & Pimfah: they were a couple that has been often hinted at but weren’t fully established as a couple. Again, I am not a fan of the whole teacher x student pairings. That just gives me an ick. However, with Napdao being a student teacher there is much of an age gap between the two. I do feel like Napdao is more of a student than a teacher, so that makes it a bit better, especially as the whole power imbalance is taken out of the equation. I do find them kind of cute together. And even more adorable if I try to picture them in a few months when they are both at university.

I liked the other side characters as well, even with their many flaws. Auto and Max were the third members of our two friend groups. They were both quite fun and supportive of their friends and their (stupid) ideas. Saifah was interesting, I do regret that his story was not explored more. He appeared as a slightly grey character, and I quite enjoyed that. Name was another complex character that we didn’t get to know enough about. I think that giving us more background on Saifa’s and Name’s past would make it easier to understand their story. Kang’s grandma was amazing! She was very supportive of her grandson and really showed her lover for him, but she also didn’t turn a blind eye to his wrong doings. She held him responsible and had realistic expectations for him. Kang’s father might appear as a not-so-great father, but he is only trying to make life easy for his son. He doesn’t want him to worry or suffer. And while his way of doing things is questionable, he is doing it because he loves his son.

I do think a lot of aspects of the series were either rushed or thrown in just for the drama. I think we would have all benefited from a problem or two less, and some more time spent on character growth and relationship building. I also think there were a lot of flashbacks that were not necessarily needed, especially when they were about the things that have happened recently. However, that doesn’t mean that all of them were misplaced.

There were also a lot of typical and cliché rom-com scenes – from the falling and catching scenes, to near kisses, and rain confessions. It had it all.

the series that got hooked me for KDramas and CDramas (litle spoilers ahead - read with caution)

Story: The story, even though it is a relationship contract, was presented uniquely. I mean, the ML was arrogant and mean but from the very start of their contract, I think he already liked the FL, well he really likes to kiss her... hahaha..and he is also open to her being jealous or when he does not like the FL acting cute towards other guy. He doesn't shy from it. rather, he asks (kisses) for it and directly tells the FL about his displeasure, unlike other series with the same trope where the ML will deny every obvious thing that is already transparent on his face or actions, which for me, is sometimes cute but sometimes annoying -- like why? I also like to mention how the FL has a strong mentality, especially on her rival! I mean, I know that once the rival turns her back, the FL will feel down and (little) insecure, but during the "fight" or the confrontation, the FL does not back down! the scene that stands out the most where the FL was a WOW was when she and her rival encounter each other after the engagement announcement between the ML and the rival. the FL, instead of backing down, told the rival that if the ML chose the rival right there in front of them, then she would leave the ML and give him to her! She also told the rival that if she is frustrated with the ML, the rival should take it to the ML and not with her! The first time I watched that scene, I was like, go girl!!! it was not snarky but it shows her confidence in herself and her trust in the ML. Another scene with a superb line was when the rival told the FL that she loved the ML for so many years and the FL simply told the rival that confessions must be done with the person you are confessing it to, not to her, who does not care about that! so yeah, I like FL's attitude. She can be a tiger when she needs to be.

Acting: this is the first (and only) series where I watched Ha Seok Jin and Jeon So Min, and based on this drama, they deliver their character well, especially the sweet and kiss scenes. Especially the kiss scenes, which made me think, are they a real couple? because for me, what makes a great kiss scene is not just the lips touching or moving but also the body expression and movement. because there are kiss scenes that have little movement on their lips, but the body expressions of both actors will make you believe that they like kissing each other, and most real-life couples do like kissing each other. some of their kiss and sweet scenes felt like, how do I say this "impromptu"? like it felt that it was not part of the script. maybe because I can see in them most couples, I see around me. like holding hands, kissing on the cheek/forehead/head. Also, ML likes to tease the FL with his naughtiness which, again, most males in a real-life couple do.

Music: Although I will not be downloading their OST anytime soon, I can also say it is not forgettable and fits the scenes perfectly. Especially the sweet scenes, because again, the sweet and kiss scenes will have less impact if the background music does not fit the scene. so kudos to that (whoever is in charge)

Rewatch value: I have to admit, after the first time I watched this drama (the year 2020 - I am not sure of the month but around 3rd quarter), I have already watched this drama more than ten times. And yes, since I already discovered that I can do reviews here, I decided to watch it again just to do this review..hehe.

Overall: maybe if you are reading this may ask, if you like the drama that you have watched more than 10 times (but I watched forever and ever more than 15 times now), why is the rate only 9, not 10? the reason for that is even though I love this drama and I am extremely jealous of their love (kiss scenes --hehe) there are also things that I do not like and annoy me every time I watch this. One that stands out is why the ML suits are weird and do not fit him? when I say do not fit him, I mean: do not fit his body and also do not fit him being CEO or Director of a big company. Sometimes the FL, too, has the same problem, but at least for her, a few outfits look good on her and fit her "work". the ML clothes throw me a not-so-good vibe, especially on episodes 4 and 15. aside from the clothes not fitting him, the color coordination is a little off too, again for a Director of a big company like a light blue polo with a dark blue/black striped tie and vest, a checkered maroon dark blue suit jacket, an dark blue/black pants. another thing, can they not lend the ML, the CEO, a phone? I know the purpose of the diamond stickers at the top of the phone, but can they lend him a phone that fits his status as an arrogant CEO? if it was the original design, it did not fit the MLs character at all, so they should have lend him a phone.

A fun and joyful series of childhood love

I really enjoyed the series a lot. Love the chemistry with all the cast and the two leading couples are the best. I am a big fan of the actors and they all have such great chemistry and time together. The storyline is fun and touching and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and shows you to be who you are. The end was the best with both of them trying to outdo the other with proposing lol. The cast did a great job of showing the turmoil of hiding one's true self in order to fit what society wants to see. I love that they touched on marriage and showed that it's past the time for all to have equity and freedom to marry each other. Both couples were able to shine, I do wish the second couple got more screen time Yi and Diao are so darn cute, but that's what we get "Naughty Babe" for ;-). This is a great series to enjoy and laugh at. the friends were a fun touch and the 3rd couple coming in to play was sweet. Love the guests at the end as well.

Outdated and infuriating

Pros:
Cast
Music

Cons:
Really outdated story and characters that are obnoxious and unbearable. At the beginning you feel kinda sorry for the FL but then you get mad about the situation and how she never stands up for herself (with minor exceptions). Not every FL should be a powerful feminist, but this is just too much. You can't even feel empathy for the "good" characters because they simply seem pathetic.
The story is average at best.
The romance is really forced. At the beginning the FL seems to like the second ML but she pushes him away without even explaining why.

To put it simply: Don't bother, just watch something else.

This shampoo has a gay agenda ;)

I'd say A Tale Of Yearning is probably the most sensual ad from the Adolph Shampoo series. There's something about bathing scenes that you really can't get past....

The production value of this series is what I'd describe as high-end Douyin – it would be unfair to pit it against mainstream TV ads.

As for the storyline, it does jump back in forth in time a little unnecessarily, but the narrative holds up well. The chemistry between the two FLs is all that matters really (sorry Adolph Shampoo) and it's at its most palpable here. That said, I would prefer if we did away with the violent tropes that often feature in these sapphic tales.

I'm not sure how shampoo sales are going, but I think they've found a narrative formula that works and are running with it.

Great First Episode

What a first episode! This one surprised me. I was anxious going into this episode because I was expecting a heavy watch, but I was pleasantly surprised at the balance of humor the episode had. The show doesn't shy away from heavy topics, but they don't overtake the episode. I also appreciated how they delved deep into the illnesses and what leads to them and how they tie into the episode and the other characters. It all flows together nicely. Park Bo Young is great here as the new psychiatric nurse and radiates a likable charm while also carrying her own baggage. The supporting cast also surprised me, as they were all likable, and I never felt annoyed when a side character appeared on stage. I am wary of the show heading towards a love triangle or square and hope the show doesn't take that route, as there are so many positives here that going that route, I feel, will hurt the show more than help it. Overall, I really liked this first episode and look forward to seeing where we go from here, and I would give this episode an 8.5/10.

Actually I watched this drama because of Luo Zheng, he and He Rui Xian acted nice in this drama ,I just didn't like the storyline this drama has... I admit I discovered another side of Luo Zheng being a red flag, he made it.. it's very convincing that I almost hate him in this drama.
I don't like their on and off relationship status in this drama.. it stressed me out and for me it doesn't make sense that even someone has a heart of your ex lover, you would be someone's slave for it? It doesn't make sense to let someone hurt you again and again just because he has your ex lover's heart?

MISSING THEM ALREADY!

I started this off with good intentions and I was right to do so! This series is just overall sweet and gives me what I've been needing after the toxic relationships in the past BLs I've watched. If you are unsure to watch it, hopefully my review makes you decide!

THE STORY:
Kaido Amane moves to Enoshima and decides he may want to actually find someone he loves, instead of just sleeping around. While there, he comes across Yamasuge Ryuji, a boy around his age, who works at a restaurant. After becoming friends, Amane quickly realized his feelings for Ryuji. But, does Ryuji feel the same way?

First off.. let's talk about the characters. Amane is bubbly, but a straightforward guy when it comes to his feelings. Ryuji? HE IS A GREEN FLAG! When I say a GREEN FLAG, I mean the GREENEST FLAG. He's probably one of the greenest flags I've seen in JBL. Ryuji is understanding, and nice. He didn't leave Amane even when he knew that he had feelings for him. He considered his feelings and didn't EVER act like he wasn't there. When Amane confesses to Ryuji, he doesn't really know what to do because he never thought of his feelings this way towards the same gender.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!
There was no misunderstandings between the two. Why? BECAUSE THEY TALKED IT OUT. When there was a problem, they talked it over. Why is that a good thing? Because some BLs, Japanese or not, always are miscommunicating and have all sorts of problems. And they never fix to probleme until EPISODESSS later.

THE 2 KISSES IN EPISODE 5??? I SCREAMED AT 6AM. They were so cute together, and even though it was so short, it was so enjoyable!

This series is so cute and I'll definitely be rewatching it! If you want a BL without any misunderstandings, with adorable leads and a adorable cat, watch THIS!!!

Grudges and Guilt

So Acting - The acting was great! The emotions the were able to express made you almost feel it too. Perth and Ohm are amazing actors and seeing them together going through a whirlwind of emotions from happy and ambitious for the future, to hurt, betrayed and vengeful was fantastic.

The Story - The story and plot was good too, obviously we knew the brothers relationship would be good in the beginning and then turn bad and back to good, so no surprise there. The plot twists were good too which I enjoyed watching unfold until the very end. Obviously there were a few annoying things such as the father's behavior towards Korn and Rung just being annoying in general. But I feel that adds tothe story, and it stirs emotions within the viewer. In the end the series was great, bonds fixed, people reconciled, happy family. It gives that wholesome vibe at the end making you think of life differently and appreciating the little things.

I also liked what they did with the flashbacks in this series, it was different and I liked that. Although I was a bit confused in the beginning.

One thing I would have liked to see more of was the relationship between Ahlan and Li, I shipped them from the beginning and I would have like their story to have ended a bit differently, but they weren't the focus of the series so I get it. Loved them though!

Overall a good series to bindge, would definitely rewatch all the good parts again.

It was my favourite movie on my top 2. I love the surprises and almost everything else. I love it 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000(sorry I wrote it because they only allow to put in 500 words)

First of all this is my own opinion so this may be an unpopular one but wanted to write.
the first half of the story was really good and I enjoyed it; their family bond, the spark between the leads. but the 2nd half disappointed me badly especially the ML. I was expecting an engaging storyline but there were so many unnecessary things and plots. It was like the FL is just striking alone. the last few episodes from 20 -24 was so annoying that I decided to drop it. the divorce part was so unnecessary.. FL was continuously expressing her love but the ML was in his own zone... However, I was having high expectation, may be, that's why feeling so disappointed.
