My Roommate is a Gumiho

This was a well-produced drama. A great main & supporting cast, an amazing OST, a good plot & the humor was the best part of this drama. Hye Sun stole the show from everyone because she was definitely the best character. She kept the show afloat when the main leads decided they wanted to be a drag during some parts. I usually love only focusing on the main lead relationship, but it was fun to watch her developing romance with Jae Jin who was another highlight of the drama.

Onto the leads, Jang Ki Yong & Lee Hye Ri had great chemistry, and their kiss scenes were top-tier. I absolutely loved the silly dynamic in their relationship that kept things interesting. The only thing I did not care for was her calling him sir.

I LOVED IT!! 9/10

Manga world came to real life

I loved this season. In this season, the main couple continued with their perfect chemistry with an addition of both the main leads taking a significant amount of initiative in the relationship. It makes you realise that confession is not the "happy ever after" of a relationship, but at the same time, it makes you understand that being true to your feelings with yourself and your partner is the key to any healthy relationship.

The last few episodes may look cliche to many but for me it was an essential trope to bind the whole story together. There were so many scenes in this that I had read in various mangas and always imagined "what would they feel in real life (live adaption)?" (P.S I love mangas and they themselves are full-fledged motion pictures that leave you a huge impact like any film or TV drama) However, I still craved to see these scenes with actual human beings (especially the famous and magical summer festivals of yaoi mangas)

This show had its own pace that may test the patience of certain people but overall it was such a delight. It has great rewatch value and keeps you warm in a cold night.

P.S, this is the only show where I didn't skip the intro song for any of the episodes due to the "epilogue" kind scenes added to the intro related to the previous episodes. It was a cherry on top to this feel-good cake!

My Lovely Liar

Sol Hee was the female lead who heard lies and came across Do Ha who does not lie. Sol Hee never became whiny or annoying. I loved her interactions with all the cast. Her friendship with the tarot reader & her bodyguard was so sweet & funny. I even loved when she had scenes with the second male lead who was such a cutie. I will admit they would have been great together, but I was firmly on the male lead side. I love how the SL never became hateful or obsessive instead he applied the concept of "if you love her, let her go" to his situation. I really hope I see more of the actor. As for Do Ha, I felt so sorry that he was a victim of so many people being so obsessed with him... all he did was be kind, caring & handsome while minding his business.

Of course, I picked this drama up for Minhyun because that is my WannaOne/NU'EST guy & I definitely inhaled My Lovely Liar. It was super easy to binge. The unique plot caught my attention right from the beginning. So, add the unexpectedly amazing chemistry of the leads, humor, great supporting cast friends, and OST with the twists and it is a great overall drama. Also, I did not feel as though I was left hanging by the ending because the ending was so complete and satisfactory!

Minhyun reminds me so much of Eunwoo with his looks. He gave me my much-needed Eunwoo fix, but he & Kim So Hyun were so great together.

Definitely recommend 8.5/10

K-drama of the year

The script is so well written that it doesn't give you a moment to relax, the cast is exceptional at their job. You're most likely to remember the characters for life.

A fantasy supernatural drama but touching some of the very real dilemmas in the world. I was most impressed with the way even the supposedly villains have a back story and you'd rather not hate them but feel bad for them.

It's witty, it's emotional, it's romantic, it's very human. Maybe that is the crux of it, super humans are also humans at the end of the day.

Start of with a mist of mystery but ends up kind of meeh

What do you get when you combine a Lovely Cast, a predictable plot, Cringe and a whole lot of annoying elements?

Well I guess you get a whole lot of watchers who want to enjoy this but end up just felling meeh... Was it worth my time? probably not? Was it bad? Not really... it just lacked that spark that could have made up for all the annoying elements that would make me go oh all is forgiven.

The drama starts off with a mist of mystery, a male lead who is some kind of Korean Phantom of the Opera with mostly mental scars, meets a supernatural... Our male lead has this mysterious unavailable charm that was almost captivating however once he took off the mask the mystery was kind of gone and all that remained was a beautiful face with a whole lot of cringe.

Our female lead had so many monologs I found myself bored off my mind and the people around them where 50 shades of annoying with one pretty good lookin Ahjusssi and well that is.

The story while predictable had a lot of good hidden inside and the good cast kept me from dropping this and stands for all the good so while I admit this was not the most enjoyable watch of the week, I still feel that the good does accumulate to a 7 ... So if you do not mind over the top annoying elements and love the leads in this it may just be a really good choice. But if you are just a fan of the leads you may just want to skip this.

Also will someone PLEASE give Seo Ji Hon a good romance where he is the male lead... Seriously this is getting ridiculous.

A perfectly mature and heartwarming romcom

The story isn't too unpredictable, you'll probably get the plot within the initial episodes but the growth of characters as an individual and the bonding they share is what keeps you seated.

Min Hui's struggle as a single mother in a male dominated corporate world was real, she did what she had to do to survive. Xin qi was right to be angry about the misunderstanding, he didn't saw it coming but later his understanding for the whole situation was applaudable. He wanted to fill the gaps and he sure did, it wasn't easy for min Hui to suddenly accept him again because a relationship doesn't last long if anyone has trust issues to begin with, so it was important to be on the same page. Their chemistry was truly very natural, both were at their best with the kid, always a pleasure to watch them together.

I would definitely re-watch some scenes just to feel that warmth again.

Back for more!!

So very happy that GagaOOlala is currently running season 1 again. I can't believe four years have gone by since the original run and the BEST part is FINALLY season 2 will begin on October 7, 2023!
This series has the best cast and it's so good to see mature actors in a BL series instead of kids. Even the senior cast members do a wonderful job and help to seamlessly move the story forward.
I am looking forward very much to season 2 , I hope it is as successful as the original season 1!!

Give it a chance!

Its not perfect but it doesnt deserve this amount of dislike. Maybe because people are used to see the actors in one kind of role. If u start to watch it without expecting they gonna be as the same kind of roles they used to you will probably like it. I love their chemistry and I loved their chemistry in this drama as well, the really make every story enjoyable! This is not my favorite but it was enjoyable, fun, chill and warmfull.

disappointed

I dropped this show like a hot potato!
I didn't even think I'd be able to even make it through the two episodes that I managed to watch.
It was just bad.
I mean beyond awful. I thought maybe I was looking at it and comparing it to the original which I absolutely love and still rewatching that one. I guess it was about 2 weeks after I dropped it I went back and tried to rewatch those first two eps again with fresh eyes. I did try to give it a chance but just rewatching those two episodes think they would've been better if the show was written differently. Since it is a bl I'll probably go ahead and watch it from start to finish and get through it some time next year.

WHAT A DRAAMAAAA

This drama exceeded my expectations in many ways, and having Jo Insung in the cast was a guarantee of quality from the start. His presence added a layer of excellence to the entire show.

I must admit that I didn't connect with the children's storyline as much as I had hoped. At times, it felt a bit too cloying and relied on clichés that I've seen before in similar dramas. However, this was a minor setback considering the depth and complexity of the adult characters' stories.

The various narratives involving the adults were emotionally powerful, with Joo Won's story being particularly heart-wrenching. I found myself shedding tears as I watched these characters navigate their challenges and personal growth.

One aspect I didn't appreciate was the open-ended ending. While it might hint at the possibility of a new season(I hope no!), I personally won't be tuning in for it. For me, the magic of this drama lies in the seniors' performances, and I believe that their stories have been beautifully told and don't necessarily need continuation.

Despite some violence and numerous sci-fi elements, this drama truly deserves the praise it has received. It's a solid 10, but it's also one of those shows that I won't rewatch in the future. The first viewing was a truly special experience, and it's one that I believe can't be replicated. Overall, a remarkable drama that tugged at my heartstrings and left a lasting impression

It's a good story

So I definitely wouldn't call this a BL and I get it one of the actors is basically still a teenager. It was a decent story that moves a little slow at times but I kept on watching. I don't think I'd re watch it but I definitely don't hate myself for spending my time on it like other shows I've watched. So I hate that they make you do 500 characters for a review that's just stupid. So her are a bunch of Q's to fill up the requirement. Qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

I Hate-Love it

This drama had it all but then blew it at the same time. Everyone had an issue with the ending but for me it was everything else but the ending. There are so many loopholes that made my brain hurt. Whereas the ending I thought was apt for this drama and did justice to the one who needed it the most. Jin Do Jun.

I thought of dropping this drama at episode 10 and checked all the comments here and saw how most of them was angry about the ending. I saw the spoilers and reading from them I had the anger was justifiable. I still went ahead thinking I don't want to quit at episode 10 and see it to the end and but once I was done with this drama I realized this ending was what would have made sense for every other loopholes and unexplained incidents this drama had throughout.

It makes perfect sense that Hyeon Woo ended up in Do Jun's body. HW had the front row seat of having to relive Do Jun's entire life, full fill his dream of being a CEO and fall in love, for all of it to be destroyed by his real self. So it was fated for and karma for Hyeon Woo to feel that angst and loss... and then to wake up to realizes what he had been a part of. This drama was never about Hyeon Woo embarking on revenge for the betrayal but rather for Jin Do Jun getting his justice after 20 years.

And it also made perfect sense that Hyeon Woo never ending up with Min Young or disclosing his secret because as he said to her when he was Do Jun, he never deserved her and he knows that he never will. So I am glad that they never gave them the happily ever after.

This drama would have been amazing if it was a tight script but that is wishful thinking in dramaland. I really enjoyed the Lee Seung Min's performance as Chairman Jin... Song Joong Ki and him was a treat to watch onscreen and that was what made me get through this drama. His characters death did make me give it up but just had to see the infamous ending.

Could have finished it in less episodes instead of dragging it.

I had great expectations when I started off with this drama. Both the lead characters dazzled with their acting charm in their respective timelines. The plotholes deeply saddened me considering there were chances to write some scenes in a better way.
** Not a spoiler but really wanted In gyu and Min ju to be really use their brains at some point of time.**
While some scenes really were too lengthy and unnecessary, some scenes really touched my heart. Overall a good watch. Ahn Hyoseop was an eye candy in this but most notable was Jeon Yeobeen's double role acting that was marvellous. Kanghoon could have been given more screentime which I am really pissed off as his personality was so kind but storyline for him was shit. I wouldn't watch it again for the story but may rewatch the college dating timeline for it was so good that it will make you feel things.

Inukai Atsuhiro was the real MC of this show

This drama has a very interesting plot about how the human mind behaves when subjected to extreme life-threatening situations. The unfolding of the plot and the interactions between the characters are very intense and realistic, showing how each one becomes corrupted as they want to save themselves or simply showing their true personality.

Certainly the biggest highlight was Inukai Atsuhiro. As always he was incredible in the role of Mikio. The more the story progressed, the more I felt that he was the soul of the show, the character who carried the entire work on his shoulders and triggered all the events in the script.

Greater emphasis on Inukai's splendid performance as Mikio. Every expression, gesture, look, tone of speech... Inukai expressed each of Mikio's mannerisms perfectly. Only an actor with a skill level as high as Inukai can masterfully play such a difficult and profound role. Thank you, Inukai, for playing Mikio. After his death, events lost their meaning for me. Mikio gave emotion to the show, even though he was the antagonist, for me, Mikio is the main character ^^
