It was so warm and heartfelt with all the characters. Lee Wan is my favourite considering that by the end he is the one being affectionate. The scenes were done with no one forcing anything making it cringe. The pace was the right exact one at times and the character grew. I wish we saw more scenes when they were in high school to see that relationship blossom. Other workers I enjoyed watching especially how they treated the CEO but also Ian. The ending felt rushed as we never got a proper reason with him needed at the shop

My favourite drama this year

I loved the light-hearted but deep start to the drama, but what kept me invested was how it showed such a beautiful relationship between the good and bad things in life.
When I first started watching this, I didn't know what to expect, I just liked the title and decided to watch it - no trailer no reading of description. And I'm glad I did.
This show gave me emotional trauma, but it also healed me. I've not felt such strong emotions for a show in a while and this was a roller coaster. I feel like it definitively hits differently if you can relate to any of the experiences shown throughout, but even if not I think this can be enjoyable for anyone.

Extremely mediocre with very little plot, the secondary romance though kept me watching for a bit . . .

What else is there to say that hasn't been said already about the primary romance? Male lead takes no action or initiative, Female lead bounces around the edges hoping he will take notice. Doesn't make for great chemistry or interesting watching.

HOWEVER, the secondary romance between Guan Ji and Bi Ruo Shan, is sexy, mature and intriguing. I really liked the intrigue there between two sophisticated people who have dated around. I also bought into the conflict! Two people used to being slick and superficial having trouble being vulnerable makes sense to me. But, in the end, this relationship wasn't given enough screen time to keep me watching . .

Better than I expected

I watched two episodes in September while I was on a camp with my new colllage classmates (imagine it like the trips in almost every BL) and I got back to it in November. Honestly, it was better than I expected.

THE STORY: I was kinda bored in the first half, but then it got better. My thoughts about Kondiao and Hia Yi while watching Cutie Pie weren’t positive. I thought they were extremely toxic. I’m really glad they weren’t like this in Naughty Babe. They finally comunicated with each other. Their common trauma brought them together tighter then before. And also their families. Kondiao was literally like Cinderella :D He had an evil step-mom and spoiled step-siblings. No wonder he was easy to manipulate by Hia Yi. Poor boy!

CHARACTERS: Hia Yi was a manipulative guy in Cutie Pie. He’s better in here. He actually talks with Kondiao and tries to be better. Good for him… Also, his dad was HOT! (And Max’s mom too!)

OVERALL: Kinda an unpopular opinion, but I found Kondiao and Hia Yi more interesting than Kuea and Lian. MaxNat’s chemistry was incredible. I was literally blushing while watching the last NC scene… Wow. The ending was SO SWEET AND THE CUTEEEEEEST! I need more endings like this in other BLs too!

Worth to watch

Actually at first I didn't expect that I will love it but each epidode become better and I was wauting for next ep (what these days are rare for me for other kdramas, they don't make me curious to wiat for the rest). The acting was so good. It was so satisfying. If you love romcom and a refreshing kdrams it's for you.
But something miss at the end. Everything with the ML character was clear but for the FL not. What happen to her in future? The relationship between her mother and her dad ??? And also her mother and his dad? What she could change in future?

A Mess

I really had to push myself to finish this one and with them delaying the *final* single episode by a couple of weeks just added more pain to the injury. Finished it today, nothing that would change my mind happened.

I went into this one not really knowing quite what to expect other than the premise sounded interesting - someone called Gaetal organises a vote for whether to execute a criminal that the justice system has failed to handle, and they'll happen regularly. Sounds super interesting.

First couple of episodes go by and i'm starting to build up a picture of where I think it's going - and i'm *really* getting hyped for it to go there. This is a bad thing to do, and leads to disappointment. Don't do that. In my view, they were setting the foundations for a really good discussion about vigilantism, why the system exists, that they'd move on to say that "Gaetal" was a concept rather than an individual and there isn't just one "bad guy" here and so forth. It really looked like it was kinda heading that way. Debate about "if you click yes, are you an accessory to murder" etc. What happens if they get it wrong etc. Lost of really interesting things to discuss here.

Then reality dawns and their goals are far less aspiring and much more plain. I mean it's not bad, it's watchable, but I just feel so let down by it and the potential it had. This had "squid game" level capability written all over it, I could see those dog masks becoming as iconic in modern culture as the masks of the guards on SG.

The ending... it's finished, it's a conclusion, but it leaves you with implications for what would happen next and... i'm sorry, it didn't earn enough credits with me to justify that. Had it been more bold it would have been absolutely ripe for it, and even a potential sequel or even series of series! :)

I guess i'm mostly grumpy that it just feels like so much potential lost, a real opportunity to have a challenging discussion.

Is it watchable and entertaining? Yes. If you like your crime dramas then you will probably get into this. But don't get swept up in the incredible hype set out in the first two or three episodes and you will probably enjoy it more :)

Cast are fantastic - some really great crew here no complaints there at all. Music I don't recall at all (so, not good not bad :) ).

Bah humbug. Etc. :)

Last episodes ruined it for me

Ok, so, how do I start? I mean, I loved this drama, the romance, the couple, the interactions between them. It was going to be one of the best cdramas I've watched ever, BUT... last episodes ruined it for me.

For starters, DWL tells the story of how Su Kelan, who loves cooking, teaches Yu Hao, her boss, how to cook and also some manners along the way. This is a typical "brooding boy/gentle girl" situation, he's cold and annoying, and very rude to his subordinates, while she's caring and sweet and everyone seems to like her. I usually tend to like these stories, and it was no different here. All the romance parts went really well, she was penetrating his barriers and he fell in love with her. They started to date and everything seemed to be alright. There are some sweet and fluffy scenes of them together, which I loved. They were happy and making plans for the future. Until FL has to make a work trip, without ML, and when she's on the plane she gets a call from the hospital saying her mother's health worsened. What happens from this moment on is a sequence of bad choices made by FL.

When FL gets the call she simply leaves the plane (where she was headed to a VERY important work meeting btw) and gives no explanation whatsoever, neither to her colleague who was going with her nor to Yu Hao who kept calling her to know what was happening. I can't explain how outraged I was in that moment. It's not that I'm diminishing her mother's situation or her love for her mother. But what harm would be done if she just... idk... called to let him know?! If only that was the only mistake, it would be fine. I could forgive her. But then, after this she decides that the best choice is to break up with Yu Hao bc she felt she was neglecting her mother for him. That didn't make any sense for me bc 1) FL didn't have any social or personal life beyond work and taking care of her mother. And Yu Hao gave that to her, she was happier and her mother felt that. He was even going to live together with her mother bc of her health issues; 2) ML was her boss, so she could just step down and quit if it was too much for her. I know he would understand, he became a very much more understanding person BECAUSE of her. But she'd rather break up with him than try a different way. And so, they spend a long time apart.

But I knew there was a happy ending to this story. Only I was hoping that because it was her decision to break up due to her personal problems, I thought she was gonna be the one to start the reconciliation. How naive of me. It's him who makes the move and proposes to her after he knows her mother is 100% well and she's "free" to be with him. And to make matters worse, this only happens like in the second half of the last ep. So we spend the last episodes just seeing them apart living their lives. FL taking care of her mother during treatment; ML working to become a better person. It was the worst. I honestly thought he deserved better than her. She got so annoying close to the end, acting like she was the victim and like he wasn't waiting for her to change her mind and come back to him.

The second couple (the leads' bffs), on the other side, were way better. I mean, they had problems as well but they always chose to work things out together instead of leaving each other. There's a moment that they get divorced but, at least in my view, it was understandable bc they married on a whim so it made sense that when they had a big fight they ended up divorcing. But, like I said, they work things out, have a child together and end up happy.

The other side couple (the director and the actress) were very disappointing. They had a lot of potential, but it was a total waste bc they spent a longer time than it should trying to separate the main couple. Both of them had a crush on the leads and that brought them together, she falls for him eventually but he doesn't apparently, and for what I remember they never really get together in the end. He just signs that he might try with her. So I got very disappointed with them.

As for the production, it was really well done. It had a kdrama vibe to me. Not only bc of the number of eps but also the story and pace as well. In the beginning it was really good. It tried to kinda discuss some topics and it wasn't just drama for drama. It felt deep somehow. So it was great.

The rating could've been worse but the drama was the best for most eps so I had to consider that as well. But it really deserved a 5 or 4 just because of the ending. Regardless of all that I said here, if you're reading this bc you're planning on watching and don't want to watch silly dramas with stupid characters then I'd reccomend this one. Most people seemed to have liked this drama here. Just be prepared for the last few eps cuz FL gets annoying af. But apart from that, it's not a bad drama.

Same feelings as for The Eclipse

If "Only friends" gave me the same feelings like "Love in the air", then "Last twilight" give me "The Eclipse" vibe.
Eps. 1-2: I need a new obsession after "Only Friends" and I think this one is the winner. The Saturday obsession is over to start the Friday one. It won't be the same feelings and the same expectations with the soul in the mouth, but it has potential.
I've only seen 2 episodes of Viceversa, it didn't pique my curiosity enough to continue it, but JimmySea is a couple I wanted to see again. And I like them a lot in this one.
I like the characters and the story (so far), I hope it doesn't start to rush. In episode 2 I felt a rush after the "fight" between Day and Mhok. How can you miss a person you've known for a few days?
Eps. 3-4: They were so cute. I love the characters, Jimmy and Sea do a wonderful job portraying Mhok and Day.

Beauty Over Brains: A Dramatic Fiasco

Prepare for a bewildering ride with this drama, a unique spectacle that takes 'over the top' to new heights. It's not just a series; it's an expedition into the wildly absurd.

The storyline embarks on a journey of irrationality that's hard to follow. Picture the most outlandish plot you can, then multiply that by ten. That's what you're getting into. Each episode seems to outdo the previous in terms of sheer irrationality, leaving you more puzzled than entertained.

The performances? Let's just say they're... memorable. The cast seems to have a singular understanding of acting: the louder, the better. It's as if the director equated yelling with deep emotional portrayal, resulting in a constant barrage of noise that's more jarring than impactful.

The portrayal of Han Mo Ne in the drama deserves a special mention for all the wrong reasons. Her character, despite having minimal screen time, is excessively dolled up with elaborate makeup, hair, and wardrobe, almost as if she's being prepared for a grand showcase. This overemphasis on her appearance feels like a shallow attempt to distract from the drama's lack of depth. It comes across as if the show is trying to compensate for its many shortcomings by turning Han Mo Ne into a mere visual spectacle, reducing her to an object of beauty rather than a meaningful character.

Every actor in this series seems to be competing for the most exaggerated performance, creating a unanimous dive into the realm of the overdramatic. It makes you wonder if there was an unspoken challenge to deliver the most over-the-top portrayal possible.

In summary, this drama serves as a prime example of a cinematic venture going wildly astray. It's a perplexing mix of poor choices, standing as a stark reminder of how not to execute a drama series. If you're curious about how a show can spiral into chaos, give it a watch. Otherwise, consider this a cautionary tale – some things are better left unwatched.

A BLAST TO THE PAST ⏰✨

***DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion. We don’t have to agree and I’m not here to argue with anyone.***

This drama is about the dilemma that many young people face: whether to pursue a life that makes them happy by doing what they love or to follow their parents' dreams and satisfy their parents' expectations. Eun Gyeol, the main character who is a CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults), struggles between following his passions and servicing the needs of his family until he is given the opportunity to change the course of their life by sliding back in time to when his parents were his age. We are also confronted with the question “Would our lives be better if we could change the past?”

Likes:

The plot is excellent. It basically combines all of my favorite genres, romance, humor, mystery, parent-child relationships, friendship, high school life, adolescence. This drama keeps you entertained and hooked throughout, providing stories that touch your heart. I don't want to give away too much or spoil, but it is a fantastic drama. While watching this drama, I felt warm and nostalgic, and I wished I could travel back in time to experience how my parents lived in the 70s and 80s. This show made me cry so much lol… I cried maybe 6 times out of the 16 episodes.

We witness some of the pleasures, tensions, and uncertainties of adolescence as the drama progresses. It explores the demands from parents and society, as well as mental health concerns and anxiety among teenagers. Beautiful friendships, misunderstandings and familial bonds are also portrayed in the drama. Even if it's pointing out details, there are flaws in the series. Logical issues arise with time travel – the characters broke almost every rule known to man. Additionally, a lot of cliché tropes are used to put the characters in difficult situations.

The young actors outshone the older actors. I was thoroughly impressed by Ryeoun, Choi Hyun Wook, Shin Eun Soo and Seol In Ah. Shin Eun Soo's portrayal of a Cheong Ah is quite remarkable, my heart broke every time she got abused by that horrible principal and they locked her away attempting to dim her shine. Choi Hyun Wook is a master in encapsulating youth's energy and enthusiasm, he was a delight to watch and I couldn’t help but laugh / kick my feet giggling in most of his scenes. I started crying at the last moment when he was recording the song on the cassette and referred to Eun Gyeol as his son and thanked him. Ryeoun is a young actor with a lot of promise. It was amazing how much heart he brought to every single scenario. You couldn't help but adore him, support his character development. I was so impressed and I will definitely be watching his future projects. Seol In Ah was a lot of fun. The fact that she and her mother were portrayed by the same actor bothers me since they were so strikingly similar (basically twins). She tried her hardest, and her performance was good, but I believe she's a little too old to be portraying a 17-year-old. I also liked the chemistry between the actors and their pairings. Both couples demonstrated that there is hope and that there are people out there who will embrace you for who you truly are. As many have said before, YI CHAN IS THE STANDARD (AND EUN GYEOL LEARNED BY EXAMPLE)

Overall, they mastered their roles seamlessly and you couldn't help but be captivated by their on screen presence, they truly brought their characters to life. I loved the use of sign language – it is such a beautiful language to learn and I wish more people would use this drama as an example to see how inspiring it is when someone steps outside of your comfort zone and strengthens / improves their overall communication skills. You never know when the opportunity will arise and you will be able to help someone.

Dislikes:

I did not watch this drama from the beginning like everyone else, and I believe that is why I enjoyed it so much more. I was able to binge-watch episodes 1-14 all at once, and I honestly felt that this drama was something extraordinary, as other commenters had stated. Having said that, I became uninterested after waiting a week for the last episodes. I believe that episodes 15 and 16 could have been fleshed out and developed further. It appeared rushed, as if they were attempting to assemble the final parts of the puzzle and conclude everything on a high note. Personally, I was curious in what happened to Yi Chan and Cheong Ah and how they eventually reconnected. I wanted to know what life was like for them, especially Yi Chan, who had lost his hearing but still had so many goals. It's clear that his aspirations came true, but I wish they'd shown me more of his backstory instead of only telling me.

“You don’t have to try so hard to be impressive. Continuing to live is already a great feat.”

“I was always lonely. I felt lonely and isolated as if I were stuck on an island by myself and couldn’t join the world where my family was living. But you see, I now have a chance to live in the same world as you do. I want to seize this opportunity.”

“I’m done being the girl who is only loved when she is needed or useful. I don’t want to be anyone’s trophy, war booty, or accessory.”

“Music isn’t something you listen to just by ear. Music is something you can feel with your eyes, mind, and heart.”

“Looking back, I realized that this song wasn’t the only thing you helped me complete. When I wanted something, when I felt like I lacked something, when I was in despair, and even at my most radiant moments, you were always there with me.”

“You lied that you were my son. But you know what? For some reason, I felt as though you were like my father. Even though I have never experienced a father’s love, I got to experience something similar thanks to you.”

“The moment you give up, it’s game over.”

“Here’s a thing about life. It may not give you everything you want. But it does hide a small present for you from time to time. I hope you can endure the cruel hardship life throws your way. So you can receive the present life has tucked away.”

“When your life can twinkle again on its own, I hope it twinkles as radiantly as possible.”

Final Thoughts:

Would I recommend this drama? Well yes, after I watched it I immediately begged my friend to watch it and she was hooked as well. I think this drama is very comforting / healing especially during this time of year and I feel like everyone no matter what age people find some enjoyment in it whether that’s nostalgia or portrayal of friendship, love, family etc.

My advice is don't allow the drama's title or the ensemble of actors stop you from watching it. I guarantee you will be surprised. It took me some time to decide to press play, but it was an absolutely incredible experience!

The premise is that if we can identify our flaws and limits, we can rectify them and grow as people. The other recurring theme is that we don’t really change. We can try as we might to control and assume personal responsibility for our own fate but nothing in life is certain. It seems as though life has selected a predetermined path for us, and we are simply just along for the ride.

This drama reminds me of this quote that says “You can be the master of your fate and you can be the captain of your soul but you have to realize that life is coming from you and not at you – and that takes time.”

With all of that said I give this drama a 8.5/10

RIVETING FIREWORKS…ROMANCE, TOO

Really enjoyed this show. Learned a lot about the life of a firefighter and how we take them for granted; that they have souls and hearts, too! Very dramatic fire scenes! Various levels of romance and emotional attachments. Liked the flow of Song Yan and Xu Qin’s relationship. Would loved to have seen Yan Chen’s character flushed out a little more, especially around the selection of a love interest. Show was well-written and directed; great acting and rhythm. Liked the intermingling of storylines, but think could have been told in fewer episodes. Held my attention throughout; however, the length of the show, makes it not Re watchable for me.

The cuteness and fluffiness reached my heart!

Been on my list ever since the pre-released announcement as it is one of my most anticipated BL shows this year. This is all thanks to the incredible pairing of the main character who gave me butterflies from their cuteness that are too soft yet gentle for my heart. I do trust Japan when it comes to executing the relevant details and personality of the characters, wherein, Yamato and Kakeru played it very well. The childhood-to-lovers trope is honestly not my cup of tea but this is an exception.

The visuals presented by the production team are stunning. Those bubble effects are whenever there’s a need to highlight and emphasize that the romantic feeling reached by the other person is wholesome. Honestly, I was expecting that this drama might reach the standard of Cherry Magic and Kieta Hatsukoi level, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the two mentioned dramas. Yet, I Cannot Reach You is still an above-average BL that gives us a real on-the-spot kissing scene!

I therefore conclude that Haru is the most adorable J-BL actor in the industry. His smiles had that impact of piercing your heart into pieces of joy and sunshine. I wish that both he and Kentaro will reunite in another BL project as still the main couple cause I love them that much.

Longing for Love

I think this deserves a higher rating. It was fun, kept moving, and didn't overstay it's welcome.

With 12 episodes they didn't have much filler or side stories. Yes the last episodes slowed down but they were actually trying to wrap up literally everything so it was very satisfying.

I appreciated there were no big misunderstandings or unnecessary tantrums to keep people apart. Characters reflected on their own actions and tried be understanding of how others felt! Surprisingly mature for a silly rom-com!

Beware: You will get second lead syndrome. Thankfully it is handled nicely.

I have only seen the female lead in Love All Play and I didn't really care for her. Granted I'm pretty sure she cried in literally every episode of that one which started to put me off. So it wasn't her fault but more a fault of direction or character. She grew on me in this drama.

I fell in love with the ML in Sh**ting Stars and felt he did well here too.

So all in all I recommend this for romance lovers who don't want all the k angst!

- End: Because the confession came out of the blue, B didn’t agree right away but instead spent some time thinking. But soon he realizes that their time apart was unbearable, and he goes back to find T and agrees to date him. They kiss and start spending time together as a couple. In the last episodes, they start living together and that would have been fine until T’s mother accidentally saw them kiss. At first, she wants them to break up but after T and B expresses their feelings for each other, she agrees to their relationship. The series ends with them happy together.

**My Opinion**

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:
- Relatively small amount of angst. Because the show doesn’t really delve deep in to the characters’ emotional journey to get to where they are in the finale, the angst is pretty superficial. The only angst comes from B not knowing if he should accept T or not.
- They look really cute together and I like how much they care about each other and how happy they are to be in each other’s company.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- The lack of build up for the relationship. For example, it was never clear why T liked B in the first place or whether B agreed to date T because he liked him or he was afraid to lose him.
- The predictable and cliche plot. There is absolutely no depth in this story. It’s a simple schoolyard romance between two adoptive brothers. The conflict come quick and is resolved quickly with no lasting consequences. Don’t try to apply logic to this tv show. Mindless watching is the best choice.
- Lack of sexual tension. Truth be told, T and B are adorable together but they look more like best friends than lovers. They are just so innocent and so happy just to be in each other’s presence. The affection is there for sure, but it’s less of an adult attraction. They don’t seem to be eager to do any more intimate stuff even when they are along.
- Lack of intimate scenes. Kissing scenes are really cute but would have liked more intimate scenes.
- Acting is a weakness here. This is an idol show and it shows. The lead actors do a good job at portraying emotion some of the time but other times, the acting just feel off. It’s also the case with some of the ensemble cast.
- The dialogues can get so cheesy it was almost painful. There is no depth in their words, just cliche dialogue we hear often in romantic movies.

**Conclusion**
This is a fluffy predictable rom com with no memorable moments.
