I definitely love this drama as much as I loved the ANIME!

At first I doubted if I should watch this drama since I really love the anime/manga and I don't want to be disappointed seeing the actors/actresses ruin the story. But since I really love the story I watched it... and I made the RIGHT CHOICE!

This drama was definitely a SUCCESSFUL one! For the story, I must compliment that they gave justice to the original story... They haven't made a lot of changes... almost the same, so much like the anime, but still, definitely worth watching.

For the actors, I really love the character of Tsuruga Ren in the anime (Dung He Lian in this drama), and I should say Choi Si Won has

Skip Beat has to be one of the greatest Taiwanese dramas I have ever seen. The story is really amazing. It's all based on REVENGE!!! Which, you know, isn't the best thing, but the way the theme of revenge is played out throughout the drama really makes it worth it. The importance of this drama is the fact that it is about friendship, and finding your dreams. I loved the focus on determination and perseverance the drama had as well. There wasn't really any focus on romance, being the romantic I am, that's what I was looking forward to, but I don't think Skip Beat needs it. The story was perfect without it, and it does have some ;). This drama was hilarious, and not hilarious read more

• Even though the plots are different from each other, the main concept of a girl trying to change into something better is what links them together. In Skip Beat! the main character is going through a change of look/career/life out of revenge, while in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, she is being transformed into a lady for the her own sake. Both dramas are funny, with romance aspirations and with moments that will make you "awwwwww". Not to mention the actors are really skilled. I really recommend both of them.

• Even though this is not exactly the same, the plot somehow is similar - both are in the showbiz world and have to deal with a really difficult actor. It's a romantic story, also funny :)

i have read the manga and watched the anime, and the drama for me was great and true to the manga, it had its cute moments and i loved the soundtrack to the drama, but near the last 2 eps i was disappointed it seemed like it lost direction and the ending wasn't the best just like the anime, it left you hanging and just seemed to stop suddenly. Although usually i hate dubbed voices in dramas the dubbed ones werent too bad for this seeing as i think siwon and donghae were actually speaking mandarin in most parts so the dubbed voice sort of synced, plus the dubbed voices suited the look of the actors :) I'm still hoping for a season 2 but seeing as the two main male leads are idols I doubt they'd have the time to film season 2 for a while :(

Half of the drama was well done, the other half was boring "filler". Something went very wrong after episode 11. The scriptwriter seemed to hit a brick wall (creatively) and could not figure out how to bring all of the story lines to a conclusion. There is no real ending; it just...stops...right in the middle of everything.

You may have doubts at the beginning, but it is undeniably one of my favorite dramas. I loved the anime, the manga, and this drama. Really funny and faithful, hilarious acting, and great soundtracks

I loooved this drama! I heard that there is going to be a season 2 in 2014 with the same main actors, but I also heard that it was a false rumor. :( Anybody know if it's true or false?

After reading the manga and watching the anime, I just had to watch the drama. I was shocked when I found they made a drama to it. At first I wanted to fast forward through the first episode because the animated graphics looked too fake. But of course I trudged on and began to see that the acting was really good. I believe the actors did the original characters justice. 9/10.

I'm both Siwon and Donghae biased but to be honest I didn't really like this drama :/ it had it's funny momments but overall it was pretty boring and I must say that the dubbed voices made me shiver X_x they were horrible and didn't match the characters of Donghae and Siwon at all. Just my opinion though.

does the main actress remind anyone else of cindy wang?
• Bookdork1 Feb 13, 2013
Ack, what is this Siwon AND DongHae are in a drama together?! What rock have I been living under? ...I am a bit confused though, do they speak Mandarin in this drama? Or is it dubbed? I guess it wouldn't really matter, since I'd be reading the subs anyways...

I'm a huge fan of the manga version and the anime.
I only saw a part of the first ep of this and got annoyed. It was unbearable for me. But because I'm such a huge fan I want to watch it. Can anyone please give me hope that it gets better...?! People obviously liked this. There must be a reason. Would you care to tell me????? PLEASE?!
• Sunorah19 Feb 6, 2013
I'm also a HUGE fan of the manga and anime series. I have all the manga volumes that's out. When I 1st watched the drama, I was a little annoyed as well, but I kept watching it cuz it's hard to judge from the 1st ep(kinda like Love Rain). And overall, I enjoyed it. Somethings are a different from the manga, but it had its funny moments. And it also had its dumb moments lol. I think you should at least watch a couple of more eps to get the feel for it. You might start to like it, or you might dislike it even more lol
• Moko Feb 6, 2013
Thank you for encouraging me though I actually finished it just now. xD
You are right, it got better after a while. I'm amazed how close it was to the original. Some sentences even seemed to be exactly the same. The effect of Kyoko's aha-moments never really got through to me. Thats what I liked the most in the anime. But I'm glad they gave the drama a better ending.
Things I didn't like? MANY! Things I liked. Well...a few. (e.g. Ruriko)
No one will ever be able to play Kyoko perfectly. Even before they started to film this I knew it would be hard to ever play her in a satisfying way for me. But at least they tried. Though this director really got on my nerves and that editor was half asleep while editing the first episode. I swear I remember Siwon shooting in that camera for half an hour....meehhh ^^
• Sunorah19 Feb 6, 2013
Wow you watched all of it fast lol. But yea, i agree with you. I don't think anyone can play Kyoko perfectly. There's suppose to be a season 2 for the drama in 2014. I'm interested in how they're going to incorporate Reino and the Beagles lol. There's also speculation about a season 2 for the anime once the manga is finished.

Also, did you like the beginning and ending theme songs of the drama? Cuz I swear I be singing them all day even though I have idea what they're saying, except SOLO lol
• Moko Feb 7, 2013
Actually yes. The whole music was pretty well made. And I even thought the theme song and the film at the end and beginning were pretty cool. catchy songs...and hard to forget. One of the parts that was well made ^-^
...
I just thought about it. Maybe if Japan would make a version of it...maybe they have a better kyoko. Let's face it - taiwanese dramas are like sugar. Overly cute. The dark side of kyoko isn't just hilarious and creepy. it's also really really dark and deep. They changed that excessivly here. Most of the time she was angry...and made weird faces. There's no 'subtle' in taiwanese I guess. (Siwon is korean by the way, he doesn't count) I don't want to argue about their style, it's a thing about taste. But maybe this manga just suits the style of it's country of origin the best way possible.
• Sunorah19 Feb 7, 2013
Yea I wanna see them do a Japan version too. I heard about the Korean version called "Celebrity" but the summary doesn't seem like Skip Beat at all=_=
• Moko Feb 8, 2013
no it surely isn't an adaption of skip beat. In fact it would be weird if they made one, Siwon already is a korean ...and the guy who played Sho. That would be like a second Hana Kimi in Japan. And I didn't like that one ^^ ...maybe in a few years it would be fine.
• Sunorah19 Feb 8, 2013
Yea I tried to watch it too. Couldn't really get into it cuz I had just watched the original not too long before that.Anyway, I hope that they eventually make a Japan version of Skip Beat^_^
• Moko Feb 10, 2013
yub, let's keep our fingers crossed.
• dpcirizarry123 Jan 28, 2013
I just finished this drama & the end was too open for me. I really hope that they have a 2nd season with all the same actors. Other than the end (I really wanted them to kiss for real & end up together) the dramas was AWESOME!!!!
• lexies Jan 31, 2013
If they wanted to follow the manga they couldn't do it. When the manga story line is further developed they'll probably make another season.
I'm ten chapters behind but so far in manga they still haven't kissed. Not even in thoughts. Lol!
• Moko Feb 2, 2013
I'm sure Ren thought about it many times^^
• lexies Feb 2, 2013
Hahaha. You are right. I was thinking about Kyoko.
