OMG...the writers totally ruined this drama with the extension. I was ranking this around an 8 until episode 13ish. I love melodramas, but occasionally I like fluffy romance dramas. I chose this drama because I thought it would be a lovely romance. I was so disappointed. It starts with a little bickering between the leads that quickly changes to sweet slow romance. Then left turn to stupid. Then there is all the inconsequential side stories. I also hate that at the end they used the narrator voice instead of using the last "extended" episodes to actually develop the characters and story. Anyway, I can't go into it with out spoilers.

The actors are good. George as Zhou Zhen and Annie as Xiao Shu are good actors

Drama extensions are often cited as chancy. When planned for early and well, additional episodes hold the promise of potential. Time constraints are lessened and allow further opportunities to strengthen story and characters. Yet when mishandled (as they typically are), an extension might lead instead to the ruin of an otherwise pleasant watch. Which category does Love Around fall into then? The second, sad to say, though it isn't a total loss.

At first (and for most of its duration), Love Around is pleasant and simple. It never attempts to be more than a light-hearted romp centered on relationships. Some bubbles of conflict surface along the way; these are either dealt with swiftly or swept so far to the side as to be partially forgotten. Early

I have finally finished this drama. The whole drama was draggy from the middle until the end. Only watched this drama because of George Hu and Annie Chen. I find Jack Lee and Elleya Tao make a cute couple. The OST for this drama was nice though.

Okay, I started watching this when it was airing, but got really busy and had to stop at episode 13. But, now I don't know if I want to continue watching it with everyone saying the extension ruined the drama. So, should I continue or just stop at episode 13 where it's still cute?

It was really good until they started dragging it toward the end. I feel like they could have done everything in like 16-17 episodes.

Difícil me despedir do meu amado George Hu, mas fazer o que, né? Gostei demais desse drama (nada supera "Love Now" que foi com o mesmo casal, mas...) Só eu tive um ódio do pai da Xiao Shu nos episódios perto do final???

OMG this was draggy as hell! What a mess! The only reasons I hung in there were Ying Ying and Fei Li. lol

I am on epi 14 & I think (by suggestion of pretending it ended @ epi 13) I am going to skip to the last epi & just be happy there. From all the reviews I have read & comments below it sounds like things took a turn for the worse instead of better. I don't rly want to waste my time watching something that ends up w/ them together anyway...happy & sweet like in epi 13! I will free up my time for other dramas that I know r interesting & not get mad @ myself for not taking advice from other viewers.

This drama was going so well. What happened? I know the answer and it pisses me off.

Woah, I am finally done with this drama! The extentions literally killed it for me, stupid writers.
The only thing I will remember out of this drama is the "Come Back to Me" song.

    The ending was soo cute!

The writers really should've wrapped this up in the first 15 episodes like originally planned. It started out great, then got a little draggy and boring towards the end.

The music was pretty good though.

And if the ending was any slower and detailed, LA might extend to more episodes
  • MyDBSJ Oct 30, 2013
I personally think that the ending wasn't rushed and everything was solved or completed. I got over the extension thing because of the ending.
